The chopped Cobb salad was good--perfect for lunch beside the pool. The burger was also fine, properly prepared medium rare as I asked. Came here with friends that were staying here at Sirata Beach Resort. One of our friends was celebrating her birthday and we stumbled upon this place only because they were open until 10pm, which was one hour past the other beach bar at this resort. It was instant regret when we sat at a table and then watched servers pass by for at least 10 minutes. I ended up going up to the server station and complaining and asking to speak to a manager. That particular server was very apologetic and at least offered to get us drinks in the meantime. I asked to speak to a manager. About 5 minutes later, the manager (Jamie) arrived and did her very best to make up for our experience. She was very apologetic but she did advise that she had to hurry back to the kitchen to help out. Definitely a red flag. My friends did end up ordering food here. Went there last night for a drink after being at a conference all day and got a yummy rum drink with ice cream. It took the bartender a few minutes to get to us but when he came over he was great. He was serving other patrons food and ended up suggesting a few things. I got the short ribs with mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. My friend and I wanted to go to a beach bar and get a few drinks after work, however once we showed our IDs which are valid Florida IDs, once we got our drinks, they tasted like children's mocktails. We talked to our waitress and all she had to say was that they put rum in it and shrugged. The drinks were not separating like normal frozen alcoholic beverages do nor did they have any taste like booze. What a scam and waste of money. Staff is currently wearing masks during COVID. You can either order at the bar or sit down and a server will come take your order. Food only took about 10min to arrive at the table. Ok so the food is just not good. We just had appetizers and did not try anything else. Peel and eat shrimp were soggy, old. Cocktail sauce was inedible. Pretzel bites were greasy. But.... the drinks are actually really good! Frozen cocktails are all great and so reasonably priced!! The mimosa was my favorite drink, so good!!! Husband loved the margaritas on the rocks. We are usually super cheap and bring our own wine etc but these drinks were too good and too reasonably priced and too convenient. It is honestly one of the reasons we might return to Sirata. The bar is outdoors by a pool. We wore masks to order drinks but we were the only ones. Not sure what the rules are. But the bar and tables were pretty packed and no one was wearing masks. The service was very poor. It took over 15 minutes for us to be acknowledged. However, once we were greeted, things got better and it did not go as slowly. The food was ok. It was nothing special. The fries we got were room temperature. The brisket I got was good, but the rest of my party informed me that the food they got was mediocre at best. My 16 yr old son went to treat a friend to dinner with 3 other teenagers. The service was slow, it took 1.5 hrs to get their food. The server mentioned about gratuity and our son thought she brought this up to let them know it was included. They paid the bill and she pulled my son aside to tell him he needed to tip. The server Kelly got on and said she was trying to educate him. (She was trying to get out of something she should have never done.) Kelly then changed her story to tell the manager Jill that an adult gave her the tip? There was not adult with them - she flat out lied to the manager. Jill the manager told us to call today and speak w the more experienced manager. Our son knows how to tip. His aunt is a server for a living. We called today to speak w the more experience manager, Linda. Linda got on the phone and told us that the owner Mark, was going to call, and took our number. This was at 3 pm. Now, 11pm -no call from the owner Mark. I guess he doesn't take the restaurant's reputation seriously? He has servers that intimidate young kids, chase after tips, poor service and 1.5 hours to get dinner for a table of four. Wow, all I can say is WOW. The bartenders got drinks for us after a bit of a wait and I wouldn't say I was blown away by the friendliness or anything. The bar area was fairly large but why in the world was it so brightly lit? We were so excited to go to Harry's beach bar after all of the renovations to the outside pool area. Our experience was so bad. Our order took forever and when it did arrive (burger) it wasn't the correct one with the correct sides. If fact, The waitress took it from us and handed it to the next table over and said that that was her burger after I had taken a french fry off of it . I've never seen anything like this in my life. The service in St. Petes and surrounding areas was amazing, unfortunately I cannot say the same for Harry's Beach Bar. The service was EXTREMELY slow and the bartenders were less than welcoming. We stayed at the Sirata resort that neighbors the bar and would seriously consider not staying there again due to the less then sub-par service we reciceved. Very disappointing. read more
