The bartender was not friendly at all. She didn't open your beer for you, (petty I know) was also taking to another local that does the umbrella and chairs on the beach, he was bragging about wanting to fight a tourist. Both kept talking down on the tourist who obviously keep the busy with work. When I closed my tab at the bar she didn't even have the courtesy to thank me. Will definitely never go back again. The wife and I saw details about the monthly Bloody Mary bar and swung by to see if the reality could live up to the hype. When we approached, the place was definitely busy and it took us a minute or two to figure out how the process worked. FYI, head to the bar for your cup with choice of vodka then jump in line to create your masterpiece. Once your cup and skewer are loaded, top off with the mix of your choice. We then found a place to stand and try to figure out how to devour our creations. The true challenge is devouring your loaded drink without losing any of the carefully selected garnish. While having a drink, we met some locals, noticed the board of extensive specials they have throughout the week, and decided this was a place we should keep on our rotation, especially the first Sunday of every month. read more

They have 3-4 drink options, so I'm down for those specials! -A short list of food that included BBQ. IMPROVEMENTS: -No music, so we paid to play 4 songs for $2. Felt awfully quiet w/out any... -Mens' bathroom had urinals with no dividers and toilets had half dividers/walls erected...LOL. I can see why this place gets such high ratings, it is a great dive bar with a TON of bikers that unfortunately makes it not my scene. Went w/ my buddy for the Bloody Mary Bar and was totally grossed out watching the crowd forego using tongs and use their fingers to spear their condiments. I'm not much of a Bloody Mary gal and was happy to see fruit options but disappointed at the lack of selection. Only had strawberries, blackberries and raspberries to skewer; pineapple and oranges would've been awesome. I felt out of place because I wasn't into cheering on loud motorcycle engines and throwing back shots among the drunk LOUD pickled bikers at 11am. Bartenders were slammed and kinda rude. Parked out front in the free parking spots. Outdoor seating available but it was empty. Picnic tables style tables with overhead fans. I guess the only reason we really stopped in was because I was getting my hair fixed up after a motorcycle ride and I was using their large outdoor window as a "mirror." And the bartender was staring at me. Lol. So as soon as my hat was on we walked out front and popped our heads in asking if they were open as there was one other person there. She said, yep, we open. Went inside and sat at the bar. Sure there is a lot of room for improvements but this place is what it wants to be. Old and a lot of character. Bartender was very friendly. Not overly chatty which was nice. People were friendly and place was not busy but I believe they had just opened. Not a young crowd. Non-smoking inside which was unexpected. Will definitely return. Damn legendary beer joint. Has three pool tables, a couple of dart machines and a couple of other pinball machines. This place is part beach bum, part biker bar, part College hangout (Stetson Law, Eckerd College, USF St. Petersburg). I wish they had a few craft beers on tap, but this place is pretty much Bud and Bud Light, Heineken and such things. Wednesday nights, Fridays and Sundays are bound to find some locals. If you're from Nantucket or used to the Hamptons you might be afraid of this place, shoot Huck Finn is probably there. Awesome during the holidays like Friday night after Thanksgiving during the Dec. 26-30 'tween week and such times as every local born in the 60s or 70s makes the crawl back to the place at least once after college (like the return of the Salmon for spawning). This is by far my favorite dive bar. Scott and Marla make this place a lot of fun and they have the lowest prices I have ever found in Florida. We went recently for the bloody Mary bar on Sunday and OMG, it was amazing. They have a juke box, darts, pool tables and tons of seating. It is a hidden gem down in Pass a Grille.
