My son and I went here to watch the sunset while in the area. It was gorgeous! It is a great location to have a drink and watch the sunset. It is on the 3rd floor of the building. You can access the rooftop either by elevator or stairs. You also have to go up to the bar to place your order. They don't come to the tables which was fine for us. While we were planning to go downstairs to the main restaurant to eat dinner, we changed our minds after reading some of the Yelp reviews and headed out for a different restaurant. Hurricanes is cool specifically for the rooftop views and that's really it. When I went, I asked for a Hazy IPA and they did not have any, I asked for 2 other beers as back ups and they didn't have them either....they need to restock beer ASAP. Prices were pretty high- seems like a tourist trap to me. Food wasn't my favorite either. Service was also very slow for it being a non busy Saturday afternoon...you guys need to sit down and go back to the drawing board to improve several things. read more

Nothing beats the view at the Hurricane Rooftop Bar. We sat at the bar and got amazing service. Our bartender was definitely hustling. We ordered the gluten free peel and eat shrimp. 1/2 pound $15.50 The shrimp was a little dirty and wasn't completely devined. We enjoyed the view and vibe so much. I think the more things change, the more they stay the same, and nothing wrong with THAT! My dad told me about this place in 1987. I first went in 2001. Haven't been back since 2008. And it's still freaking fantastic!! There are three levels to the Hurricane: the rooftop (credit card only), the second level (wasn't open when we were there) and the deck. You can see some great sunsets from the rooftop. The food is phenomenal. I remember once going and eating like 4 lbs of shrimp with a group of people! I probably ate a pound myself. Their blackened shrimp was great over salad. And even my landlubber husband had some good seafood! The only issue is parking. It's all street, but we had to walk a bit to get there. Not terribly far though! Cannot wait to return even if just for another sunset. read more

Everything! We gave our server, Lisa, a run for her money. We moved from inside to outside because of the sun in the wind. I had the. Blue crab, tater tots, out of this world, hubby had gator bite Steez, the best , Eddie had the ultimate burger, and Luann had nothing, just sampling a little bit of everything. We stopped here for lunch and sat on the rooftop, which has an amazing view. There wasn't any waiters so you had to go up to the bar to place any orders. The bar tender was very nice. Before going to the top the hostess informed us there is a different menu on the rooftop, it is not the full menu you will get at the resturant. I ordered the grouper Reuben with onion rings. My wife got the chicken strips and fries. My dad just got a slice of key lime pie. He really liked the pie. Unfortunately, they put the food in to go containers, I am not a fan of that. Especially when I got something that was toasted and when it arrived there was no crunch on the rye bread, it was soggy. For the price you pay and it to arrive like that just kind of takes away from the experience. Also I was told the onion rings would come with the horseradish sauce but it didn't. My wife's chicken tenders were good but pretty pricy. Everything was a little bit pricey but I guess you are paying for the view. The Hurricane seafood restaurant was a great spot to come grab a bite and watch the sunset over the gorgeous pass a grille Saint Pete Beach area. The service was nice and friendly, and the prices were very affordable. I got the blue crab tots and I was a little bit disappointed because the crab was not very hot and neither were the tots and there was a very low crab to tots ratio, so if you're in it for the protein, don't go for that. I was in it for the crab because I love blue crab meat, but there just wasn't much of it at all. Other than that, the drinks were delicious and delightful and the sunset was right in front of our table so that was beautiful. read more

Been a while since I have reviewed this place so I thought I would update it as things have changed. Biggest change at least since we have been here is that they serve food till 830! That's nice even if you some munchies. Kay our bartender was super nice and made and poured what we wanted. We decided to grab some apps. Pass-a-Grille is one of my favorite beaches. When I lived in St. Petersburg I was frequently at this beach. It has amazing views a laid-back feeling, great parking and it's not crowded. I love to come to the hurricane rooftop bar to get a drink, sometimes watch a game and to watch the sunset. It never disappoints the bartenders are always on their game, fun, friendly I just do it all around great job of serving. The view is so beautiful!!! I got a margarita and it was 10/10. I also ordered a fish sandwich with fries that was exactly what I needed. It does get hot on the rooftop, but there are covered areas around the bar so it's not too bad if you get a good spot. This place has the coolest architecture. It has 4-5 different floors you can choose from, though I'd certainly recommend the top floor. Absolutely stunning rooftop views of the ocean. It's definitely the highest rooftop bar in the area and gets rowdy at night, but relaxing during the day. Even if it's raining, I'd still recommend going to check out the roof because most of it is covered. It's definitely great for very large groups (you can also rent out half the upstairs bar for private events if you want to). Staff are funny and friendly as well. I will say, the service is fairly slow, but we're on Florida/beach time, so I get it. They have $5 beers, so it's a very good price point given the great views. We didn't have any food when we came here, but it looked great. Most people were doing takeout and then heading over to the beach. You can park right across the street and use the beach parking, however you need to pay via the meter. Would overall recommend if you're looking for a local watering hole with views. read more

A fun rooftop bar located on the main strip in Pass a Grille! We went for sunset. I'd recommend to arrive early to get a spot near the edge of the rooftop so you can see the beautiful beach and people watching the sunset. They also have free parking available just for the rooftop guests so you don't have to find street parking. The drinks- we got bloodies- were just okay. A bit watered down but still okay and cheap ($6 or so). There are a lot of places to lounge/sit on the rooftop. For covid safety, I would say it wasn't the safest (guests weren't wearing masks) but I believe the staff were and I saw them cleaning countertops down. read more

The downfall is that the menu is different from the one downstairs and when the sun is beating down, many of the tables and bar will literally burn you if you sit at them. Visited this place for the first time recently and absolutely loved it! Perfect place to hang out for a few hours, enjoying some delicious drinks and basking in the beautiful view of the beach. The bartenders on the rooftop were friendly and helpful with suggestions. Their drinks were also delicious! I started with a margarita and then moved on to a piña colada. Both were fantastic. The food was so good! We started with the Peel & Eat Shrimp which was fresh and flavorful. Then we had the Grouper Sandwich with fries. It comes with a delicious tartar sauce that compliments the fish perfectly. The burgers also looked pretty good so I'm eager to go back and try those. The tables are spaced out to ensure social distancing and the bartenders wipe down the tables after each party leaves. Can't wait to come back and relax here again soon! read more

Had lunch there yesterday with dear friends. On the positive side we were able to sit at the roof top bar for a couple of hours and enjoy the breeze and fantastic view. On the negative side the we had the 5oz Grouper Sandwiches and the were quite ordinary and exceptionally expensive. I would try some other place. I do not recommend the food. It appears as if this place is well past its peak and sliding downhill. read more

I visited this rooftop bar with a friend to check out the view around 1pm on a Friday. There were only 5 other customers on the rooftop when we arrived. The bartender, whose l name I was later told was John, asked what we would like to drink. My friend ordered a beer, and I was trying to decide between a beer and a specialty drink. The specialty drinks on the menu had prices listed with them, but the beers did not. I asked the bartender how much a Corona light cost to help make my decision. He replied, "ummm I don't know. If you need to ask that maybe you shouldn't be here." I was shocked by such a salty answer to a basic question that he should have known the answer to as part of his job. I thought he just be joking? He looked it up and said "it's $5.50." So I said I would take a beer to quickly get the transaction over. As my friend was signing the receipt, John walked into the middle section of the bar and complained to the other bartender. He said, "She asked me how much a beer was. She shouldn't be here if she's asking that. Just go the fXXk home." At this point my jaw dropped and I turned around and said, "you know I can hear you!" He didn't look up at me. My friend left a small tip and indicated "bad service" on the sign in tab. I can't believe how rude this bartender was to attack a patron for no apparent reason. We drank our one drink and enjoyed the view and the 80s rock music that was playing, but we will not be back. Very disappointing. read more

Went to an event on the roof top this past Sunday Oct 6th, the staff seemed overwhelmed with the turn out and bar service was very slow and the worst part of all was the blatant under pours in the drinks. I was in the business for 15 years and can pour a drink with my eyes closed but yet your staff can't even count to 3 to pour an ounce of liquor or have been told to under pour on purpose. Elderly female bartender with short hair denied us drink service due to a cracked drivers license (of a 28year old). She asked for multiple forms of Identification which were produced and continued to make excuses for why she would not serve us.
