First time (sort of ashamed about that) and we had a terrific dinner in a rustic old world style restaurant. Food was fantastic! Schnitzel is so big they need larger plates! Delicious too. Potato pancakes were also top notch. Service was amazing!

Cutest beer garden to sit outside and enjoy the weather. Service was very pleasant and quick. I tried some of the hunter snitzchel which was great and I really enjoyed my currywurst. I'd never had it before but I also love a ketchup glaze on meatloaf so I figured I'd like it and I really did. It paired well with the carmaleized onions. But the fries were a little sad and I didn't really like the little dough balls that came with the hunter.

Authentic German food. We walked in and everyone was singing a sound of music song. A cool gentleman was playing along and entertained us all night. The staff got us a table right away. Best if you get reservations. The inside looks like a German home and bar. In good weather you can sit outside. Our beer was delicious. I got a large Dunkel dark beer. My wife got a Hefeweizen. I ordered the schnitzel with spaetzel with mushroom gravy. It was crispy large and delicious. My wife got the bratwurst in a blanket with delicious sour kraut . We had so much fun and a good meal. Love this place.,

I don't even know where to start with this review other than this: it's the best German food I've had outside Germany. Sitting on a corner lot in Bradenton, I decided to give this restaurant a try after seeing its high ratings. I am so glad I visited for dinner! This family-run restaurant is amazing. The schnitzels and sausage/brat options are plenty and fantastic. I opted for Nürnberger Platter, which consisted of 4 bratwurst sausages served with sauerkraut and sweet mustard. The sauerkraut was not too vinegary and had a nice taste to it (I think it was the caraway seeds it had in it). Their red cabbage, which I had as a side, was very good too. My dinner companion had the Hunter schnitzel and WOWsers. Perfect seasoning on the breading and the spätzle was very good. Edelweiss has music on certain nights of the week, so call ahead if you'd like live entertainment. Overall, this was a fantastic meal and I'd return in a heartbeat. Don't miss out on this gem.

In the way of an update, I offer the following: I ordered the Beer Cheese soup as a starter. It was good, but extremely salty. I had the schnitzel sampler the last time and was planning to order it again. Unfortunately, it was not on the menu. I decided to order the Sampler, which includes schnitzel (pork) sauerbraten, and roulade as the proteins. They were set in 3 different types of sauce and included spatzle and red cabbage as the sides. The schnitzel was tender and very good. The sauerbraten was also tender and tasty. The piece of roulade I was given was not rolled and it was fatty and tough. The 3 sauces were very salty. The atmosphere and service is very and the prices are reasonable, especially given the portion sizes.

We asked if there was bread, and they have a complementary bread and pesto that was excellent. We each chose something different so we could try four different meals. The fish tacos were great! Great flavor and huge piece of fresh fish. The green beans are an excellent side choice. The grilled salmon was also excellent. The key lime aioli was sweet, but delicious. The crab cake was not deep fried and crispy, but full of large pieces of crab. The homemade potato chips and fries were great. I did prefer the fries. They also have gluten free buns for the burgers. I had the grouper with mashed potatoes and green beans and it was amazing! The fish was fresh and cooked perfectly, very firm.. flavorful.. and flaky. Their wine selection was VERY good... a wide variety to select from: California, Argentina, France, Germany, Italy - I was very impressed. Staff were all very nice and welcoming which also helped with the experience. Parking is a little tricky.. we did street parking - I am not sure if there are parking garages/lots nearby.. but we went with metered street parking. Would I go back? Yes, for sure!

There is street parking and a small private parking lot. I highly recommend reservations on the Resy app about 1-2 weeks in advance, as the restaurant is busy in winter. FOOD: You can choose between a la carte or the Prix Fixe menu. The Prix Fixe is a small-portioned three-course (bite, appetizer, and entrée) menu featuring some of our signature dishes. The Prix Fixe experience begins at $58 per person (there are additional add-ons) for dine-in only. 1. Waterzooi Soup (3/5; Red Farms chicken | caramelized leeks | carrots | local cream | focaccia toast | parsley emulsion | carrot purée): This is a Belgian soup. The serving size of the soup in the prix fixe was relatively small. The presentation was nice, and the chicken soup was a nice winter dish. The chicken broth was savory but at room temperature. 2. Autumn Salad (2/5; mixed artisanal greens | brûléed bucheron cheese | radicchio | toasted French walnuts | red grapes | fig balsamic vinaigrette): I felt like something was lacking from this seasonal autumn salad. It's OK for me, as I mostly ate the bucheron cheese with the grapes and walnuts. 3. Filet Mignon (4/5; seared | maître d'hôtel butter | red wine jus | truffle potato purée | asparagus (additions: sauce Choron, seared foie gras, Maine lobster tail, local exotic Petrichor mushrooms): It was cooked perfectly. This is a staple in the menu. I did not add any of the additionals. The service was great. Our water and drinks did not touch the bottom. The server came around often to check in and give his recommendations. If you want to do order pick up, it is available Tuesday-Saturday between 5 - 8 PM. Would I come back? Yes. I want to try other items on the menu.
