I'm late to the pierogi party ! Had no idea this was near sunset park. Stopped in on a Friday - got to try the jalapeño cheddar (fried) and the feta spinach(boiled) pierogies, and kielbasy platter. You can choose the preparation between boiled or fried.
The jalapeño cheddars were amazing - although I know a modern twist, it pairs quite well and I feel pays homage to the location's neighborhood of sunset park.
The feta spinach, which we got the larger portion of 9 of, was not for me. I found it to be very rich - overpowering. In retrospect, I wish we got the flavor / quantities in reverse.
Overall everything was nicely prepared judging them as separate dishes. Pierogis, kielbasa, caggage (loved this so so much) and sauerkraut sides. The dips - a little commotion for the dips, they're very well balanced and memorable.
Although this was my first time here, I would need to be more strategic on balancing the intensity of the flavors and salt. Overall it was a very rich meal, that although very nourishing, no hay ligero. I would have loved a side of plain baked potato, maybe a slice of bread or something mild to let the other items shine. A palette cleanser, so to speak.
I would say, to get a balanced meal it can get a little pricey if you're doing à la cart. But the lunch sets and platters are thoughtfully included so you can go for that. read more
