    Pad Thai chicken

The service was fine and so was the food. My pad Thai was quite plain tasting. The Thai tea was overly sweetened. Not bad though

We will DEFINITELY be back!!! Awesome food, awesome service....if you leave hungry, it's your own fault!! We ordered the Baan Thai Sampler and it was brought out with dipping sauces for each item! I had the Pad Drunk Noodle with chicken.... Was so good and filling!! I was only able to eat half!! My husband ordered the Pork Green Curry and he ate about half. We are so excited that we found a Thai place that was close to home that is GOOD!!!!!

We had an amazingly authentic dinner. We went on a Monday night and were they only patrons. Service was prompt and as soon as we ordered we heard the chef get to work. Plates came out as they were ready. Everything was fresh prepared. I hesitated on ordering the $9 wonton soup but my husband insisted. And boy was he was right it was worth every penny of the $9!!!! Such a big flavorful bowl! As we were finishing up the chef came out to check on us. Don't pass on this place.

We were driving on I-70 and found this restaurant on Google just at the right time to pull off the highway about a mile -ish into Vandalia where this place is tucked into the Main Street strip. The place is clean and it seems like a family operation. We all enjoyed our meals and appetizers-my favorite app being the fresh spring rolls with crushed peanut sauce-best I've ever had. We shared meals - Pad Thai, Pad Basil, Red Curry, Bhotam Keab and the chef made a special allergen sensitive dish for a person in our group that has dietary restrictions. All dishes were fantastic with fresh ingredients and just the right amount of spice per how we ordered. They pay attention to detail here. I think we were better served here at this family-owned restaurant in this small town than any Thai restaurant we've been to in big cities. The chef (maybe owner?) came out frequently to check on us and she was so accommodating. We make the trek from Kansas to Ohio and back every year--I hope this place does well so we can come back. It's worth the stop off I-70!

Egg rolls (there were 3), chicken satay, Pad Broccoli and Pad Basil

Delicious fresh food with great flavors. We had the eggs rolls - nice and crispy; chicken satay with a delicious peanut sauce; Pad Basil and Pad Broccoli - both with delicious sauces and crisp, colorful vegetables. Dishes were plentiful and served with white rice. There appeared to be just 2 people working, one serving and one cooking. Amazed at how quickly our food came after ordering. Prices are extremely reasonable. If you are in or near Vandalia, this is a must restaurant to visit.

This is our first visit. Had heard good things and read reviews here so we had to try it. We love Thai food! This was a good first impression. We had egg rolls and dumplings. Both were fresh and tasted good. For our main course we had pork fried rice and pad ginger with beef. Overall pretty good. The fried rice was a bit dry and could have used some broccoli and or bean sprouts. It had peas and carrots. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu!

Great food! Waitress was over worked, but still kept up. My only complaint was it was a bit overpriced.

We came from out of town for lunch and saw decent reviews -- but BEWARE because good reviews are before COVID. We sat and the older lady immediately brought 4 waters to the table and walked away. We looked at the menus and she returned to take our order and warned us the prices are NOT accurate. I asked her by how much, and she said it's up by $3 because inflation (the entrees were already priced at $10.95 for chicken and $12.95 for shrimp)-- so add $3 to that. You'd assume the produce was fresh and decent portion sizes. What was ordered: 2 red curries (shrimp), and 1 shrimp fried rice. She walks to the kitchen and all we hear are the sounds of a microwave door being opened, buttons pressed, and ringing once food was ready. 5-10 mins later, all our meals were out. This was by far the nastiest Thai food ever. Portions sizes were 1 scoop of white rice and a small bowl for the curry. 4 pieces of shrimp with tail on it. Curry tasted like sugar water. Fried rice was cold in the middle and sweet in flavor. High salt content for sure. She comes around and asks if we needed more rice -- here I assumed she realized she gave VERY LITTLE amount of rice and came to her senses. The bill comes around totaled to $60+. She charged $4 for the extra white rice, $4 for the waters, and $31+ for the curries, $15+ for the fried rice. BEWARE AND TURN AWAY. I had her drop $4 from the bill because of how she never asked if we wanted waters, and never explained the rice was being charged as extra. She was extremely rude and pushy during this whole experience and was just honestly annoying to deal with. Do not come here. Oh and there was hair in the food.

They had some very nice pieces of Asian Art all throughout the place. The food was great. The presentation was exceptional. The soup was delicious. The spring rolls were delicious. The heavenly beef was very good. It was some type of beef jerky. The pad Thai rice was good with just enough spice. I asked for a 2 for the spice level. The customer service was great. Our server did a great job. I believe they said he was the owner. He checked on us often. He offered suggestions. He kept our drinks full. He was very personable. Additionally he had a wonderful since if humor. I left very impressed and full. Everything was reasonably priced. There is parking in front. The one area in which they need some improvements was the restroom. It needed to be updated to reflect the rest of the restaurant.

It kind of makes it a hidden treasure and I'm glad that I found it. My visit was during a Saturday lunch and I was impressed. I started my meal with Fried Spring Rolls filled with vegetables and served Thai Sweet Chili Sauce. They were a thin crisp shell, that still gave a nice crunch when bitten into. The sauce was a accompaniment. For an entree I chose, Drunken Noodles and added Beef for my protein. I was torn between Pad Thai and the Drunken Noodle and when I asked my server, she said their most popular dish was Drunken Noodles. Then when I went to add my protein it was between chicken and beef. She said beef was her favorite add, so I went with her recommendation. Once my entree arrived to the table I was surprised by its size. It was huge. It was so big, it could have been a meal for two. Guess who had leftovers for lunch the next day. The noodles were flavorful and lots of tender beef and had plenty of veggies. My spice level was 3 out of 5 and I still was sweating along my hairline. Next visit I may have to scale back to a two. The service was attentive and the young lady who was my server, had a bubbly personality. I also had a young man who brought me my order, checked on me and I wasn't even his table. Now that I have found this hidden treasure, I will definitely be back. When: March 7, 2026 Why: Lunch

The first was while in a hotel when we first arrived in June to move into our "forever home" in Staunton (about 10 miles away). We went again a month or so after moving in. We went today (Sunday lunch) because we wanted to pick up a few things at Walmart. Understand where I (we) are coming from. My wife spent her childhood in Hawaii, and her father is Japanese. I am an Army veteran, and have been to plenty of Asian restaurants around the world. I do have a tough standard. I am sincerely not trying to punch down. I want this place to be good, it would be better for my retirement years for it to be good. It is the closest option for buffet. Our Staunton option is a menu only, and it is also not a good option, at all. I understand that a place needs to cater to its patrons to be profitable. I am not saying they don't try, I'm not saying they don't care. I do understand that americanized and (bland) is what they need to lean into. Our lunch today was $40 and we both left unsatisfied. I am willing to eat anything and have the girth to prove it. My wife is a bit more particular, but certainly has the ability to provide a decent value judgement on the things she chooses. There just are not consistently good choices to be had here. The "sushi" for example is marginal at best. There are more breaded/fried items than truly exist in Asian menus at other places I have been. The other items almost always have a sauce that is salt and sugar forward. There are very few spices/textures that I would expect from a Chinese menu. It is relatively clean, the people working here do try to do a good job. I appreciate the effort required to put all this together for us. It has the standard Chinese restaurant decorations (I think there is a kit that can be ordered from somewhere), but they haven't overdone it. I do understand and accept that people like this place, and appreciate the offerings. I am in no way looking down on their preference, [To each their Own] and please continue to enjoy it. If you are however, just passing through, it may not be the best stop for good Chinese food, okay "food" sure, but not on par with other options I have enjoyed.
