"What if it fails and can't be repaired?!" I talked to 8 different HVAC companies, had 4 of them come to my house. I didn't just want my unit replaced, I wanted my house to be comfortable. 2 of those companies had thoughts, but were either WILDLY over price (like double) or thoughts that I am not sure would solve my issues Frank came out, talked to me about my struggles, and came up with a plan, he then explained his plan and why and how he felt it would make the difference I was looking for. from there I pestered this poor man with questions, and thoughts, and "what if" and "maybe we should upgrade this?!" he was patient, listened, explained, and as they just left my house I can tell you this. even thought the house is still cooling down from having everything open... all day on the hottest day of week, and possibly month, the air is coming out cool, it feels like the whole house is getting the cooling it needs, and Quiet... We recently had another HVAC company come out because our AC stopped working. After running their…read morediagnostics, they told us we needed to replace our entire system--including the air handler, condenser, and even add another air return. To make matters worse, they said they couldn't turn the system back on and that we might have to wait until Monday for a full system replacement. This all happened on the Wednesday before the Fourth of July, with temperatures well into the triple digits. We have five kids and two dogs, and the thought of going several days without air conditioning was overwhelming. Thankfully, we decided to get a second opinion and called Airtime Cooling & Heating. Jacob came out, started his own evaluation without us telling him what the first company had diagnosed, and quickly impressed us. He simply turned the system back on, ran his own diagnostics, and gave us his honest opinion. His conclusion was completely different--our system did not need to be replaced. Not only did he get our AC running again, but he also took the time to explain what he believed had happened, what to watch for if it occurred again, and even walked us through how to troubleshoot it ourselves. That kind of honesty, education, and customer service is incredibly rare. Instead of facing what could have been a very expensive and unnecessary replacement, we paid for a diagnostic visit, got our AC back, and gained confidence in our system. Because of this experience, we've switched from our previous HVAC company to Airtime Cooling & Heating for all of our future maintenance and service. If Jacob is any indication of the quality of their technicians, they have earned a customer for life. Jacob was truly a 10 out of 10. He saved us from an unnecessary replacement, restored our AC when we needed it most, and treated us with honesty and respect. I can't recommend Airtime Cooling & Heating highly enough.

Its unfortunate I feel compelled to write this review update. I had Rusty's visit my parents house…read moretoday since the external unit was making some noise on shut down, and given how great they were in 2023 when I needed them, it seemed like a no brainer. Nothing was declared wrong with their unit besides the LRA being higher than normal. (Apparently reading 129 when the rec on the unit is 120). So when I arrived the young tech was attempting to upsell my father on Compressor protection to solve this at a cost of $600, and stating to both of us at that time that the issue would only get worse and the compressor was the most expensive part of the unit to replace if it goes out (correct). He said $600 was cheaper than a compressor replacement (also correct). After some basic research I realized they were being upsold. Sure protection is good, But if your unit is already covering most of the bases a protector would, then why install one? The upsell statement was.... "Without this your unit will be unprotected and your LRV values are only going to continue to get worse, compressors are thousands to replace" It felt like doom tactics and for a second in my mind I was like, we should just do this. I took a photo of my units information and serial, threw it in to chat GPT. It told me the following about my unit. " What you have Brand: Lennox Model: ML17XP1-048-230A01 Type: Heat pump (not just AC) Size: 4 ton system Refrigerant: R-410A Voltage: 208/230V system (not 120V)" " Does your system already have protection? Yes--your Lennox ML17 series includes: Internal compressor overload protection Anti-short-cycle delay (via thermostat/control board) Standard electrical safeguards required by code So you already have basic built-in protection " I cross referenced this with the manual too. So maybe he meant "Compressor saver"? Like a hard start kit, who knows I'm not an AC tech, back to the internet. Well looks like my unit does not need or benefit from this since its only 2-3 years old and our capacitor was almost on point with the expected readout so starting was likely not an issue. I also saw that 129 was still within the expected +/- 10% tolerance even if on the higher side. So in a nutshell I am disappointed with the outcome here. I understand a bit of salesmanship is required for a successful biz, but $600 of not required add-ons for a unit that has most of it already doesn't feel honest. Not to mention that feedback online was to expect to pay $350-450 and that $600 and above was considered very expensive. And lets say I am totally off the mark here and my research is off, then in that case the young tech seriously failed to explain in detail about the topic. The tech that visited me in 2023 was so knowledgable and at no point did I feel like I was being upsold on things I didn't need. There was a trust bond there almost immediately with that guy. I went back to read reviews and saw that the same has happened to some of your other customers (Quincy . R from literally 2 weeks ago) Your biz was EXCELLENT! I raved about you guys to my neighbors in the past. Some of them even booked you. I know you guys are better than this. Sadly i'll have to take my biz and recommendations else where from here on. Thanks for the great job you did in 2023 and good luck with your continued biz Rusty's.

I am surprised at the amount of great reviews for this company. My experience was the complete…read moreopposite. I called Cool Zone because they were authorized to perform warranty repairs on my ac system. The tech found that the compressor had failed and needed to be replaced. He confirmed the unit was still under a parts warranty so my cost would be the labor and new freon that was recommended. He quoted $3,300 for 4 hours of labor! Then said if i purchased a maintenance plan that covered 2 visits for both of my units it would be cheaper at just under $3,100. What? That doesn't make sense. You Buy a service plan and pay less ?!! I expect that the "maintenance" is not intended to take care of the units but to give them 2 more opportunities to overcharge for additional services. I was told they would check availability of the compressor and his office would call me the next day. I was charged a $89 diagnostic fee. I told him his office told me the fee would be waived for repairs over $300. It was obvious to me that he had no intention of sharing this policy with me and said he would discount the repair bill after the work was done. I heard nothing more from them. It has been 2 days. After looking into his price I was told by 2 different companies that the quote was at the high end of the range for a unit that was NOT under warranty. I did not share this quote with either of these companies until after they priced the repair. Both told me the same thing and both quotes were competitive. A different factory authorized business is repairing the unit including line set cleaning and new refrigerant for $1,800. This is a predatory business overcharging people that are stuck in the AZ heat with a broken ac unit. They say a sucker is born every minute. Dont be a sucker! Stay away.
