One of my favorite places to stop and eat in Hatch,NM... in fact no roadtrip thru Hatch is complete without a stop here. This place celebrates it 50 year anniversary next year and its longevity it due to the delicious food, reasonable - almost unreasonably cheap in today's dining scene and good service. The green chile burrito is my favorite and my go to. Expect spice (it's chile)... and deliciousness. Some indoors and outdoor seating and a pick up window that is accessed from outside. Noticed a lot of locals eat here (good sign) and visitors as they had constant customers. Highly recommend.

The food portions are massive and super tasty. The burritos were full of pork in red sauce. The beans and rice were also very tasty. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. This is a small place with great food for not too much $. I think they're worth the drive up from Las Cruces.

Some of the absolute best burritos we've ever had and that is saying a lot since we were born and raised in Arizona and have spent a lot of time in New Mexico, and Mexico. My green chili shredded pork was outstanding, juicy, and seasoned perfectly. Plus, the amount of heat was just right. My husband's red chili was more mild and the flavor was also delicious. The sauce tasted like it was made with 20 ingredients, simmered and cooked for hours...just melt in your mouth. Also, it is obvious the tortillas are homemade, flaky, buttery and so yummy. We can't wait to head back for more! They have an extensive menu and a convenient window for ordering. Everyone working was so nice and answered all my questions. If you are in the mood for some quintessential Hatch green chilies at it's finest, head to this local family owned spot! Side note: we didn't get too many pics since we were on a road trip to Albuquerque and we ate in our car but, it shows the insane amount of green chilies added!

A very small local place. Came at lunch. Shared a Tosado deluxe. Very good! $11. Coke products. They do a lot of take out.

Small family run place with great food, especially their chile. I ordered the huevos rancheros, which they were not (see pic). This place is famous and won't disappoint, but they always close at 3pm.

I think I just ate the last two burritos I will ever have. Why you ask? Well because these things were incredible. I admit back east the heritage of the burrito is not as strong, and I have only that by which to judge, but holy roll up, they were in another realm compared to what I'm used to. I walked into a tidy yet humble store front, glanced at the menu on the wall. It was lunch time, yet the breakfast option was still in play. So to the window i went where I was kindly and might i say, enthusiastically greeted. I ordered a chorizo and bacon breakfast unit, and I asked for one of whatever the house specialty was.,damn it was good. Shredded meat, red sauce, and all the accompaning flavor boosters. Less than five minutes I was on my way out with my toasty hot examples of what food should be. Do yourself a flavor, and skip the Main Street flashy restaurants, and her to this place

Simple place to grab a quick bite. Had the bean and cheese burrito and ground beef burrito. Very basic but good. No frills , no extras. Chips and salsa great. Chips are thick and crunchy. Salsa is hot and spicy. But so delicious!

Fantastic, made-to-order food. Excellent service. Hot chili. This is where the locals eat.

I stopped at La Nueva Casita just passing through town, Then…read moretasted the chile and nearly fell down, Red chile! Green chile! Christmas delight! Smoky and roasty and cooked just right, No thick soggy batter all gooey and mean, Just peppery goodness in red and in green, With crunchy chips, salsa, and honey so sweet, Sopapillas bouncing right out of my seat, Five stars for flavor, for joy, and for fun-- I'd drive four whole hours for another round with my son!

First impression wasn't too good. We walked into the restaurant to first see a tub of dirty dishes…read moreand seat ourselves at a sticky table. The complimentary (first round) of chips and salsa was above par. The menu was descriptive and the service was friendly. We ordered the fajita tacos and the combination lunch plate (chicken hard taco, green chile con carne, green enchilada, and a chile relleno) with borracho beans and rice. The fajita tacos and chile con carne were okay, but the enchilada was weak and the relleno was filled with some sort of liquid cheese that poured out in the first lukewarm bite. Rice was okay. Beans were overwhelmingly over-seasoned with oregano. The combo plate was drowning in broth from the chile con carne. We were disappointed hearing that this place had such great green chiles, but it was all so watered-down that we didn't taste much of the chile flavor. :(
