Some of the best Mexican food east of California! Great quality and great prices. We stop here every time we cross the country. Just a few blocks away from the freeway with plenty of parking. read more

Short background, as I understand it,... Si Senor restaurants, located in Las Cruces, Deming, and Chandler, are independently owned by different members of the Castillo family (so they are not owned by the same people.... just members of the same family). This includes two Si Senors, and Si Senor Express in Las Cruces, one location in Deming, and one location in Chandler, AZ. I've been to all five. Each location offers a different level of quality, of basically the same menu (some more than others). I have reviewed the other four in their own separate reviews here on Yelp. (HINT: My favorite locations are the Lohman in LC, and the one in Chandler. I used to like the Express, but they have cut corners too much, including slicing their stuffed sopaipillas in half to only include the top portion of the pastry). The Deming location is perhaps the second least favorite of the author of this review (leaving their White Sage Ct one for last). To start with, the service was excellent. Not sure, but it seemed that family members of the owner were waiting tables and working the register. They were on point, and were doing a good job, never idle, always cleaning or preparing for the morning crowd. The food, however, wasn't up to par with the other restaurants. Ok, so maybe better than some other restaurants, just not the family's other ones... The prices at all locations are different. The Deming prices are very reasonable, and a big factor as to why we stopped here on our recent trip through Deming. The dish I ordered was to have been smothered in green chile and cheese. There was about a tablespoon of cheese, and maybe 1/8 C of chopped chile. The other thing was their weird tasting sopaipillas. Not bad, just weird. They had a hint of vanilla flavoring, making them sweet and donut like tasting. Which is ok if you have some for desert, and actually good. But I usually don't. I use them to scoop up my plate. But also, makes for some weird tasting stuffed sopaipillas. One thing of note, is that the LC and, if I recall correctly, the Chandler location, has the four 1/4 C salsas; a red, green, cream cheese and green chile, chorizo and bean. Here, there was just the one, the red, which made us sad, but it was different than the red included at the other restaurants, it was much BETTER! Really tdf. The chips were house made and really crunchy, which I like. 5 stars on the salsa and chips! Overall, would we eat here again? Sure. The price is right, the staff are spot on, and the salsa is excellent. I'll just order something else next time. They do have an "American food" portion to their menu. May be worth a try...? read more

Si Señor Restaurant was the first restaurant quite a few years ago that started me on the love for New Mexican Cuisine. Yeah, it's that good. This very unobtrusive, low key, sparsely decorated, humongous, amply spaced resto does not impress by looks or feel, it just overwhelms you on the good food. One thing I've found over my visits is its quick service; you won't have to wait long to enjoy that great New Mexican meal. Whether your there for a light snack, a full meal or a drink, they're ready for you. For a full meal they offer terrific combination platters or individualized specialty items from Enchiladas, Tacos, Flautas, with beef, chicken or pork. Excellent refried beans, Spanish rice, and fresh tortillas. My fave is green (Hatch) chile anything! A great offering is their Chile con Queso Steak with enchiladas, rice and beans. If you're just passing through or staying a while you'll have to eat. If you only pick one place, this is it. They also make a terrific Milanesa (chicken fried steak) as well as traditional American fare. Buen Provecho ya'll! read more

This place has the BEST chile rellenos; flour batter instead of egg which is preferable. The prices are still pleasingly low, but it shows how they've cut back in their chimichangas and tamales. Both were quite small so maybe you guys should bump up your prices and offer food that is of satisfying size -- didn't get pix but both above-mentioned entrees were seriously only about 4" long, if that, thanks! read more

Food was okay... I like my Mexican food spicy and it wasn't...but the waitress was very attentive... she took our order right away.. & then brought our food out pretty quickly.... Si Senor - Mexican Near Me - Deming, New Mexico

This is a must stop for us when passing through Deming! Nothing fancy, but perfect, classic New Mexican food. My husband usually gets the Green Chile plate and I go for a combo Red Chile plate. The stuffed sopapillas are a great item, don't sleep on the tacos either. Meals start with chips and salsa and sopapillas and honey at the end of your meal. Ask for a side of their "white" salsa which is a creamy green chile dip. We always get a regular and white salsa to go with chips. read more

Good small town restaurant. We stayed in Deming overnight on a road trip and ate dinner at Si Senor on a Friday night. The restaurant was busy, but the food came out quickly. The restaurant isn't fancy, but it was clean, the prices were affordable and the food was good. read more

We had some enchiladas and they were good. It's just a small cafe and they had friendly staff.

Great food!! In reply to Krystal H, I have never had soggy lettuce and tomatoes or brown guacamole at Si Senor. Also the owners are not the same as the ones in Las Cruces or Chandler as one person said. At least you get sopaipillas with your meal. LC and Chandler do have the 4 salsas, but Si Senor in Deming has the red salsa, white salsa and you can also request a green salsa just to set the record straight they don't have only 1. read more

I normally don't write reviews but the food here was almost not edible. My family was really looking forward to eating Mexican food together because my sister is going home on Monday. We usually order from Irma's but unfortunately they were not open today. The bad customer experience started when I called to place the order. We had never eaten here so I had to ask how to order what we wanted. The woman taking the order was very impatient with me. The chips were really hard, the guacamole was brown like it sat out for several hours on the counter, the lettuce and tomato were super soggy. I would really like to find something that was good but there just wasn't anything. read more

Based on our previous experience we stopped in here again. We ordered the same items, #3 combination plate and the #6 chili rellanos plate. This time the wife was very disappointed in her rellenos. Different cook? My combination plate was good overall but the refried beans were simply not good. The wife said the same thing. The texture and taste was off and the beans seemed undercooked. My red chili sauce was hot as it should be. Hopefully this was just a bad day. On a positive note, their prices are certainly fair. (Tucson's and most AZ restaurants should take note.) read more

Seems to be to go to place after church. I arrived about 11:45 AM on a Sunday and there was plenty of available tables. By 12:15 the place was packed with families who all seemed to know each other. The food was good and priced appropriately. The wait staff was busy since the crowd seemed to all appear at one time. read more

The small and simple order of three tostadas was perfect in quantity and quality. Neither of us wanted a large meal before heading out to Tucson. Ground beef tostadas with guacamole, lettuce, and tomato hit the spot with flavor. The bean tostada with lettuce, tomato and sour cream were also good. Service was good. Promptly asked for our drink choices. Our favorite Coke-Cola in a glass bottle. Ambiance was basic diner chairs and tables which was too bad because the floor and wall decor were really nice. The Mexican influence tile was a nice decor piece. The long dining area was big and quite a few people dining. A lot looked like locals. Noise level was low and not noisy with background music, just the hum of people talking. read more

This place is really good. I may go again. :) read more

Excellent. A traditional cafe but do not let that fool you. No alcohol but the food is excellent. read more

The food was amazing! The bad: - onions were burnt inside my burrito... like super charred. There were bites of my burrito that tasted like scrapings from the griddle. - service was not super fast, but small town and it was relatively packed even for a Tuesday! - some of the chips were chewy HOWEVER... above is nit picky. Most of the foot wasn't burned, most of the chips were fine, and I wasn't in a rush and they weren't inattentive... and it was a full restaurant. The good - reasonable prices - friendly service - great food - spicy salsa - sopapillas - my chicken had a ton of flavor read more

Customer service good. My burrito had only meat and nothing else not even wrapped like a burrito, even though it said it had rice and beans and very mid tortillas are too dense meat has no flavour salsas have no flavour either read more

Traveling thru and were hungry decided to stop and when the restaurant is full of locals, you k ow it's got to be good. The salsa was good not spicy . My husband had the tacos and he liked the semi soft fried taco shell. Beans were old school refried . Tortilla soup is a tasty hearty vegetable type soup. Spicy and tasty . If your driving thru give them a try read more

After a long day on the road driving west to AZ, my wife and I stopped in Deming, NM to spend the night. While checking in at our hotel, we asked the front desk person for their recommendations for dinner. They suggested Irma's (Mexican) or Marie's (Italian)...we were going to try out Irma's until we checked out Yelp and Si Senor received 4.5 stars...so off to Si Senor we went. Located off the main drag, the place had ample parking in the back of the building. The exterior belied its roomy interior. We were told to seat ourselves and we're looking at the menu soon thereafter. My wife knew she wanted to order carnitas so that was easy but I asked our server for her recommendations and I ordered the Si Senor Special (skirt steak with 2 enchiladas and refried beans). The chips and salsa were good although we would've preferred the chips warmed up. Upon sitting down, we were joined by unwelcome guests...flies. When our food was served, we had one eye on our food and another on possible flies landing on our food and drinks. Throughout dinner, we were engaged in swatting the pesky pests away from our food! My dish was decent...the steak was tender enough and the enchiladas had good flavors. My wife's carnitas were a disappointment. Lacking flavor and that char, she had to mix the meat with the guacamole, pico, refried beans and rice to add some flavor to the meat. The warm sopaipillas with honey at the end of our meal was a nice touch...but the flavorless carnitas and the flies were lasting memories for us. When I asked my wife if she would come back to Si Senor the next time we find ourselves in Deming and she answered "No Senor"! read more

If you find yourself between Arizona and Las Cruces, NM and you have a craving for Mew Mexican style food, try this place!! Service was warm and inviting, the patrons were also friendly. The restaurant is a throwback to an early diner setting with sturdy furniture and simple fixtures. It's perfect!! However, the food was the absolute best. Exactly what the tired and road beaten soul needed. It was comfort, uplifting and consoling all in one dish. Try the green Chile chicken enchiladas and hopefully you can have a similar experience. Definite 5 stars and will stop again whenever I'm in the area. read more

Food was typical New Mexican menu and the decor was definitely lacking so if you are looking for something more adventurous or cute this isn't the place. It was very good though which is part of the reason it was so busy. The other part is that they were open on a Monday for lunch for which we were grateful, because many Deming restaurants were closed and we didn't want to get fast food. Service was great and the included Sopapillas were a nice touch. read more

Wow! Say Si Señor to this place. We stopped by heading to Maine for our last taste of SW and we were not disappointed. Lots of good reviews, lots of customers inside, you know you're going to be happy! And beautiful tile work! Friendly host took care of us. Great chile rellenos and red Chile beef burrito...and chips and salsa to go. So much food. We had enough for lunch and dinner, and the price was very reasonable! ¡Muchas Gracias a Si Señor! Si Señor is my favorite restaurant in Las Cruces, so I had high expectations for the Deming location. I'm not sure if they have the same owners or not, but I'm guessing it's a no. I'd drive the extra hour to Las Cruces before visiting again. Our server took long, have zero updates, no refills, and when we asked for another food item (side of beans), it didn't come until we paid to leave. The food tasted good, however the portions were small and it took long, despite there not being a crowd. The restroom was also really dirty with feces allover the one toilet they had. read more

service good. chips thick and oily. Enchiladas have a great red sauce if you like spicy. Cheese in enchiladas was not melted and minimal Beans spread out thin so it looks like you are getting a lot. Liked taste of beans read more

There is something about New Mexican food that we crave and leaves us satisfied every time. Si Senor did just that! I got the red chili plate and my husband got the chili relleno. The beef on the red chili plate was flavorful and melt in your mouth tender with the red sauce having a bit of a kick. The chili relleno was great with the beautiful chili flavor in each bite, filled with cheese, and breaded and crispy to perfection. Even the salsa that was served with the chips was great! And for a pleasant surprise at the end of our meal, sopaipillas showed up that were fluffy and light, pillowy delights and then drizzle with honey! Yeah, I would have loved to take a dozen to go! Service was fast and friendly. read more

Driving by from Cali to Texas and we decided to stop at a restaurant to eat non-fastfood. And man am I happy to of stoped here! Ordered Menudo and was so good and tacos also good they do crunchy shell but they deep fried not store bought. Well, if you are looking for a meal that will set your mouth on fire this is the place. Dinnner last evening, ordered the #3 combination plate: enchilada, taco, tamale and carne adovada, refried beans, rice. Excellent green chile with meat and flour tortillas. Chicken tacos were fine (not very flavorful). Service was efficient. Excellent prices--$21 for two adults' meals. We were on our way to CA from El Paso, TX and decided to look up a decent place to sit and eat. Most places in the general vicinity close at 1 pm. (Don't ask me why) So I asked a local at a red light and he recommended this place. This place closes at 2 pm so we had some time. We took our seat at a table and right away saw that we were in an open carry state. (Tbh that made me feel safe) The waitress came by with complimentary chips and asked us what we'd like to drink. The salsa was very mild so we asked for something spicier and she brought us a green salsa which was just as mild. And also sour cream and jalapeño which was spicy and tasty. She took our order and the food came out fairly quick. She was good about asking us about refills on our beverages. My meal was the combination plate #3. The enchilada and red meat were bright red. Very appealing to the eye. The red meat was not spicy and didn't taste bad but it wasn't impressive either. The waitress said the sopapilla was a popular menu item so I went with that. I was not impressed by the taste. My son had the NY strip combo plate. He asked for medium on the meat but it came out well done and tasted very rubbery. My husband had the tamale combo plate and he didn't think the tamale was good. The masa had no flavor. The service was great. The people working there are very nice and hospitable. The ambiance is very family friendly. Not everyone has the same taste buds, but I probably wouldn't go there again. I would recommend you give it a try and see what you think. read more
