Some of the best Mexican food east of California!…read more Great quality and great prices. We stop here every time we cross the country. Just a few blocks away from the freeway with plenty of parking.

Short background, as I understand it,... Si Senor restaurants, located in Las Cruces, Deming, and…read moreChandler, are independently owned by different members of the Castillo family (so they are not owned by the same people.... just members of the same family). This includes two Si Senors, and Si Senor Express in Las Cruces, one location in Deming, and one location in Chandler, AZ. I've been to all five. Each location offers a different level of quality, of basically the same menu (some more than others). I have reviewed the other four in their own separate reviews here on Yelp. (HINT: My favorite locations are the Lohman in LC, and the one in Chandler. I used to like the Express, but they have cut corners too much, including slicing their stuffed sopaipillas in half to only include the top portion of the pastry). The Deming location is perhaps the second least favorite of the author of this review (leaving their White Sage Ct one for last). To start with, the service was excellent. Not sure, but it seemed that family members of the owner were waiting tables and working the register. They were on point, and were doing a good job, never idle, always cleaning or preparing for the morning crowd. The food, however, wasn't up to par with the other restaurants. Ok, so maybe better than some other restaurants, just not the family's other ones... The prices at all locations are different. The Deming prices are very reasonable, and a big factor as to why we stopped here on our recent trip through Deming. The dish I ordered was to have been smothered in green chile and cheese. There was about a tablespoon of cheese, and maybe 1/8 C of chopped chile. The other thing was their weird tasting sopaipillas. Not bad, just weird. They had a hint of vanilla flavoring, making them sweet and donut like tasting. Which is ok if you have some for desert, and actually good. But I usually don't. I use them to scoop up my plate. But also, makes for some weird tasting stuffed sopaipillas. One thing of note, is that the LC and, if I recall correctly, the Chandler location, has the four 1/4 C salsas; a red, green, cream cheese and green chile, chorizo and bean. Here, there was just the one, the red, which made us sad, but it was different than the red included at the other restaurants, it was much BETTER! Really tdf. The chips were house made and really crunchy, which I like. 5 stars on the salsa and chips! Overall, would we eat here again? Sure. The price is right, the staff are spot on, and the salsa is excellent. I'll just order something else next time. They do have an "American food" portion to their menu. May be worth a try...?

The historic restaurant really shines where it counts -- fantastic food, reasonable prices, and excellent service. The host was warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in for lunch, and our server offered great suggestions from the menu -- which features a wide variety of Mexican, New Mexican, and breakfast fare. I decided to get the Sopaipilla Compuesta ($15), a pair of sopaipillas topped with red and green chile. It was packed with authentic, rich flavor and made for an incredibly delicious and filling dish. My dining companion enjoyed the Veggie Omelette ($14), which was equally well-prepared, fresh, and portioned generously. If you are looking for authentic homestyle New Mexican cooking steeped in local history, La Nueva Casita Cafe is an absolute must-visit in Las Cruces!

I am from and live in El Paso so I am not sure why my tagline is saying San Francisco…read more We went to Hatch to buy some chili and stopped by at this diner. I am handicapped and have trouble ambulating. I liked they had a gift store connected to the restaurant and - in reality - this is why we chose it - shop and rest. I ordered a combo (chili relleno, enchilada, and taco) and my sister ordered chili relleno. Hands down the chili relleno--they were fresh and not greasy. Plus I liked they were not smothered in sauce. You can order this way but we chose not to and I am glad. People were friendly and service was good. Just like mom's....normally when I leave Mexican restaurants, we look for ice cream to help settle our stomach but this is not the case. So if you have a sensitive stomach, this is a good place to go because the food is good and it does not feel heavy in your stomach. Their gift shop is a nice quaint, good prices, good variety, and very friendly people. The prices are very reasonable. They have pots for plants and I have quite a few I purchased in El Paso but I wish I waited because prices were much better. Owner is very nice and helpful. He was unloading product, saw me struggling, and ran to help. There is not a lot in Hatch but this is one place you will want to visit even if you do not eat. They have a number of Mexican curious that are well-priced. If you are looking for metal art for your patio or yard, or those huge decorate pots for plants -- check them out definitely -- then grab a bite to eat - you won't regret - and they do take credit cards if you spent all your cash on chili like I did

That's exactly what we found at Hot Stuff. My wife had a combo plate, $8.50, I had a green chile burro enchilada style w red chili , $5.50. Attentive service and awesome red Chile sauce. Daily lunch specials available.
