After researching how to make an extra Honda Accord Coupe remote and key and seeing that B & B Lock was able to cut and program one, I bought a key off of ebay and brought it to their shop. They recommended using a Genuine Honda Key FOB, but I had already purchased an aftermarket one with OEM Honda parts. There was about a $10.00 difference for the keys. I don't remember who was helping me, but there are four guys who work at the shop. The first guy who helped me was able to cut it, but was having problems programming the key. About an hour later, another guy came back from a job and took over trying to program the key, but he was having the same problems. The portable computer that connects to the car then programs the key was saying "Access Denied". They B & B guys called the company and were told that they have never seen this problem before and that their software update should have been new enough to program the key. Anyways, B & B updated their software to the newest "Beta" version, but the key still would not program. While waiting, I purchased a door lever with key lock for my garage door. It was made by a company called Cal-Royal and was about $24.00 plus I paid for it to be re-keyed for $7.00. It's compatible with Kwikset and Defiant (Home Depot brand). It was an impulse buy, so I didn't do any research on prices, but the price seemed fair. (I looked online later and it was a fair price). So, about four hours later, B & B was unable to program the Honda key. The normal fee to cut and program the key is $85.00 and they charged me $40.00 since they were unable to program it. Ultimately, it was not the key (Genuine or Aftermarket), but the car that was the problem. I'll have to go to the Honda Dealer, which is something I was trying to avoid. LOVE this place. I stumbled across this place because I lost my car keys. They quoted me $145 for my Civic so I came in and got it done. Going to USC, the area surrounding it is known to be unsafe so what B&B did was reprogram my entire car so if anyone found my car key, they wouldn't be able to start it! Having that peace in mind was great and at no extra charge according to the owner. The person who helped me was Bryan and he was super kind and helpful. Although it literally took an entire day to do my car key, Bryan was and apologetic for taking so long. Called today and spoke to Van about issues I was having with my garage cables being tangled and that the garage door needed to be adjusted. Was given a quote of $120-150, which was fine. Technician David shows up about an hour later to the property and gives me a quote of $140 after seeing the garage door, which was fine. David proceeds to untangle the cables but was unable to adjust the garage door. Attempted to adjust the garage door for about 15 minutes. I stepped outside of my garage for 2 minutes and came back to see him packing up his truck to leave. I then tested my garage clicker and the garage still did not work. David then turns to me and says that is odd, I tested it 3 times before you came back and it worked (hmm...lol didn't work the whole time but when I walked away for 2 minutes he thought it worked??). Ten minutes later after going through the same motions, David turns to me and says your machine is broken. BUT still charged me $120. Basically, I paid $120 to have garage cables untangled and the ability to manually use a garage door. I called Van back and he said I was quoted for untangling the cables, not fixing the garage door. Hmm, that sounds really odd. I have no experience with garage doors, why would I care for you to even come over? Just so I can manually use a garage door? Save your money and go elsewhere. Be weary, I am guessing they will charge you whatever is quoted and say something else is broken. read more

Deadbolt replacement for a residential door. I was going to do it myself, but this was a special lock that might require a retrofit, so I'm glad I called B & B instead. Yup, adjustments to the door were required for this lock to fit properly. Paul was a terrific technician. He arrived when promised; he even called to let me know he had arrived and was outside the residence. Paul really knew his stuff. Fast installation. Efficient and friendly. Answered my pesky questions. And make appropriate adjustments to the door with proper tools. Even did a cleanup of the metal shavings and wood chips...shaking out the rug outside and vacuuming. PROS: Paul thoroughly tested the lock with both keys. He could tell the lock wasn't moving smoothly into place, so he fine-tuned the fit until it slid into place easily. He was precise and he cared to do the installation correctly. This impressed me. He also gave my mom a senior discount when she asked for one. Good on him for making a customer happy and maintaining good customer relations for possible future business. Well done, Paul. OVERALL: Good competitive prices (House call and installation are separate charges). Technician is a perfectionist (YAY!!)...and quick. Also arrived within the time promised. My garage broke and I could no longer open the garage. I had no idea who to call but happen to find this place. This place was recommended by a friend whom had their garage repaired recently. I thought it was gonna be hard to find someone to come out for repair, but I was able to schedule for a guy to come out the next day. The guy came out and said it was a simple fix. The plastic latch that hooks to the top of the long axel broke. It didn't take him longer than 30 mins to fix it. He noticed that the axel was set higher than it should and this is what is causes a hard open and closure of the door. He made the recommendation to make the proper adjustment so it closes more softly. I never knew that was the reason why the garage door slammed. But that did the trick. I thought this will cause me a couple hundred of dollars. But he only charged me $75 for parts and labor!! Can you believe that???? I was so amazed how dirt cheap it was. I have a very rare car, a 2004 Infiniti M45. Because of this, trying to find information on how to program the keyfob is virtually impossible. Willy spent hours on end with me trying to help me but nothing worked. In the end, he found a solution for me and that was to duplicate my spare key (the fobs can't be duplicated). Going back and forth between several customers, I knew they were busy but he tried his best to help me out as soon as possible. So I called them early in the afternoon to have them meet me at my house upon my arrival from the office. But the KeyMaster was a lil late due to the person taking my order mistaking my street name for Nine, opposed to Vine . . . Nonetheless, Mr. KeyMaster shows up, dismantles my deadbolt & doorknob to have it "re-keyed," which he does in his mobile van that has all he needs to take care of business. He asks me how many copies of the key I wanted (he charges $1.50 per key), I told him 2. I then asked if he could re-cut my original keys, since I'm familiar with their designs at a glance. He said he could and he did. All in all, he was at my house for 20 mins., 5 keys re-cut and they all worked w/out a flaw. Rate was $75.00 . . . not bad for quick and efficient service!!! I highly recommend B & B to whom-ever needs their services. Oh yeah, they also install garage doors, which they did a few years ago at my place. Best to tell you what happened. I was in no rush to leave, but I grabbed the wrong keys and locked myself out of the apartment on a weekday morning about 8:30 am. Luckily I had my iPhone and found these guys on Yelp. I called them and a kind gentleman answered. He took my phone number and address and arrived in 15 minutes (I am about 15 minutes away, so this was good time). It took him less than a minute to bring his tools and open my front door. Great place to get your spare key programming done. I bought my keys on ebay and needed at place to laser cut and program the fob and B&B was able to do it quickly and affordably. It was all done in less than 30 minutes. Ford wanted $300+ for a single fob, lasercut and programming!!! That was too much for a flip style key. I needed some keys copied. First I went to Home Depot, but they didn't have one of keys in stock that I needed, so I came over to B&B. I needed three copies, and it was $2.50 each - more than Home Depot, but whatever. When I got out my credit card to pay, I was informed that they have a $20 minimum for credit cards - and as someone who doesn't normally carry cash, this was infuriating. Since I wasn't about to pick out $12.50 of extra crap, they charged me a dollar extra for the "privilege" of using my card. WHAT?! FYI, B&B, it is DEFINITELY against your merchant agreement with Visa/Mastercard to charge service fees to your customers. I needed the keys that day so I ponied up the money, but I will not be going back. read more
