I needed to be seen by an Oculoplastics doctor which was Doctor Warner out in upland. Which is litterally an hour plus away. I arrived at 9:23 am signed in and waited to be called somewhere around my appointment time which was 10 am, Boy was I wrong I walked up to the receptionist and asked when will I be called? I mentioned an hour had passed and everyone who singed in after me had already came and went. After 2 hours I was livid and I still waited due to the fact I needed to see why my left eye was blinking so frequently. I walked up to the receptionist once again I mentioned I have officially waited two and a half hours to be seen. She finally said I was next wow. I finally got to see Doctor Warner and my visit was like 10 minutes after waiting two hours and a half to be told I need eye drops. This clinic has the absolute worst service. I've been experiencing difficulty with my vision for over a year. Zero empathy. Standard of care is sub-par. Ophthalmologist's course of action for my corneal issues was to take omegas 3, which subsequently did nothing to resolve my issues. They keep referring me for follow ups without actually doing anything, feels like a money grab. They over book and under serve. They tout locations everywhere for easy access, yet trying to get an appt at a clinic close to you is impossible and I have been sent all over Southern California just to get a timely appt. Hi my name is Mr. Shey and this review is of my encounter and experience at azul vision. If you're looking to go to azul vision for your eye care especially this location the reviews don't lie. On September 3rd 2025, I went in for my post surgery appointment to see the doctor and even though I was in the middle of care with the office because my insurance changed and they didn't take my insurance any longer, I wasn't able to see them which is completely understandable. Now when I began asking questions about what I need to do next in regards to possibly being able to see the doctor again which I found out later is something called a transition of care , I was met with the office manager yelling at me to either pay or leave in front of the entire office lobby, where they were patients as well as staff. This went on for a few minutes. (you can see the review down below from a patient that was in the office when this was all happening and that is her honest review of what happened. After the yelling subsided and I was able to get my medical records form signed so I could leave I walked out of the office and a police officer was called on me. Poor service. Takes my insurance benefit and no product delivered. I was seen in the Pasadena office to get custom lenses delivered in early June. Azul was really good about getting insurance payment for the lenses and fitting, but I have nothing wearable so far, can't get a call back from my optometrist (Dr. Camara) to discuss my particular issues, so it's another month to be seen and then however much longer to actually resolve the issue. read more

Seems like the only care available in this place is pay or get out with a follow up conducted by police that are unnecessarily called. Phillip seems to have some issues that need to be resolved. Yelling at patients is not proper or appropriate. Take people aside and talk to them. Trying to humiliate them and then calling the cops is wrong. read more

I would not go to the Upland office. There is a particular optometrist, although intelligent can come across as abrasive upon my visit there I was talking to one of the employees asking her questions and me I guess that's a good tactic. If you don't want to engage the customer or the patient but don't think the patient is stupid and doesn't know what you're doing. I did not have a good experience of this office at all. read more

Two stars because the Doctor and technician were very good. But the front office receptionists need some serious work on patient relations. Several of us showed us we were advised to do (10-15 prior to our appointments 1PM). The office was locked. It was 96 degrees outside. They opened the door at 1pm and before anyone said anything, the receptionists were on the defensive, raising their voices (SERIOUSLY!) Saying they were ENTITLED BY LAW to get an hour lunch break (BTW the law says 30 minutes. They also claim they don't know why were we told to show up early, funny 5 or 6 of us all told the same thing! They were so impolite, and these people are the face of the business. They sent out a text at 10 a.m. on Friday cancelling my Monday appointment and then became unavailable for rescheduling. I tried calling and texting and got a guy in a back office who couldn't reach anyone in appointments. He went up there and said they were all gone. I get that stuff happens, but shouldn't they at least TRY to call to reschedule when they cancel an appointment? Now I have to find a new doctor that my insurance will cover and wait another 3 months to see a retina specialist. read more

Since July 2024 I have been calling trying to get information on my upcoming surgery in February. I left 11 messages with the surgery coordinator and no return call. A week away from surgery I go to the office and plead for information. I was promised a call by 2:00. Obviously no call! 2:15 I call the office- they tell me that my surgery is cancelled but can't tell me who cancelled my surgery stating that they can't see the information in the system. Lack of communication is an understatement! It seems that no matter who you ask a question to, no one seems to have an answer but they are very willing to transfer your call to another person, and they don't know either. I have no confidence in this entire organization and I wouldn't trust them to do surgery on my eye. Already contacted my insurance company about filing a complaint. read more

Today I went for my annual checkup for my eyes. I was warmly greeted by the office personnel. They were most professional and friendly. Vahan showed me to the eye exam room and was very helpful and patient with my hearing challenges. He repeated instructions to me as needed due to my hearing challenges. I appreciated his understanding. My visit culminated with Dr. Abnoun sharing the test findings with me. She spoke in terms I could relate to and follow the recommendations given to me. She was kind and reassuring. She had such a wonderful demeanor! I am looking forward to next year's appointment! read more

This is the worst run chain of ophthalmological care. The gals at the front desk cannot even make an appointment for a cataract surgery follow up for the day after!!! Messages were left a week ago to return the patient's call and so far has not returned the call. She called again this am and left a message for her to return the call, and as of three hours later still no phone call. Upland office: There needs to be an option for negative stars. Expect to spend 5 hours for a 15 minute dismissive visit. We've been going here for years and it is always like this. I dread it. Due to an unavoidable cancelation at another Azul location, I brought my mom to the Upland location. I was lucky to have given myself so much extra time to get there, as the construction surrounding the entrance off Arrow was unexpected. The construction plus the heavy rain was stressful enough, so I was glad to get inside and see how much bigger and more spacious this location was. Fast forward to the reason I'm posting: my mother (in her 90's) was treated with such disrespect and unprofessional behavior by the doctor. My mom wears hearing aids, and her eyes had been dilated in one room before she was asked to walk to another room. I helped her all the way and all was fine until during the exam, the doctor became loud with the verbal instructions to my mother ("Look over my right ear".) When my mom was not responsive (because she is a Spanish speaker) the doctor raised her voice and started snapping her fingers rapidly. I tried speaking instructions to my mom over the doctor's voice (hoping she would then get it, that my mom was not willfully not following instructions, but that there was a language barrier) but the doctor got even LOUDER. I finally said to the doctor that my mom did not understand her due to her only understanding Spanish. The doctor says, without apologizing or slowing down her work "Well, can you translate then?" to which I say "That's what I'm90s trying to do." anyway, the raising of her voice, the rapid finger snapping like she's communicating with a dog, was so offensive. I did not have a conversation with my mom about this; she's in her 90's and just saw no need to engage her in a conversation about something she might not even have realized was occurring. But I witnessed it and I'm leaving this review in hopes the doctor sees it. I needed to ask about my mom's health concern, so I did my best to ignore the behavior and just ask my questions. I'm not naming the doctor because even if I knew your name, I wouldn't want to repeat it. This was such poor and unprofessional behavior. That you acted this way in front of me, a person who acts as a caregiver and advocate, leaves me wondering how big of an asshole you must be when you have unaccompanied patients in your examining room. I work in a very busy office environment myself, which provides services similar, although not medical. I know something about being understaffed and overworked. But you know what? you NEVER TAKE IT OUT ON YOUR PATIENTS/CLIENTS. DO BETTER. This office was short-staffed at the front desk. While the receptionists were pleasant, the one booking the follow-up appointment couldn't even let herself make eye contact. The bright spot was a technician named Felipe, who treated my mom with dignity and respect. My mom is hard of hearing and seeing, so she doesn't always respond to instructions the first or second, even the third time. This guy was patient and it's something the doctor needs to remind herself to be. Needless to say, I will not be back here. By the way, when it rains, it would be smart to instruct your employees NOT to SHAKE THE WATER OFF THEIR UMBRELLAS once they are INSIDE the building. One person did this and left a trail of water drops across the floor. And if you're going to post a sign informing people that the giant is a basket for clients to place their wet umbrellas, you might advise them to empty the trash that people have already dumped in it. No way was I going to add my umbrella on top of germs in used water cups and Kleenex. read more
