I wish this would have been double checked prior to being used on me because even if it's probably fine only happening once and (hopefully) it wasn't in a high dosage.. but was unable to confirm this - it still caused me immense anxiety that I really wish was avoided. I washed it off and emailed my doctor. But I still feel awful and wish more precaution was taken. This was my first facial since becoming pregnant (almost 27 weeks now) and I was really looking forward to it and thought I'd be safe here. Unfortunately I didn't feel safe and I wish I never came now. They don't have pregnancy pillows to accommodate pregnant individuals either. To be fair, I did have some trouble explaining exactly what I didn't like -- I don't know all the hair terminology, and there was clearly a bit of a disconnect. But I showed a picture and did my best to explain, and instead of listening and working with me, Devonna seemed not to understand what I meant at all. I never expected her to react so harshly. When I said that the haircut wasn't what I wanted, she became defensive, ripped the cape off me, and told me to go sit in the lobby because she was "freaking out." I hadn't raised my voice or been rude in the slightest all I said was it was not what I had wanted and I didn't like it. Still upset, I went outside to quietly call my mom, not realizing Devonna was sitting in her car. She actually got out to confront me in the parking lot, yelling at me to "go cry somewhere else because she was already crying in her car." Completely unprovoked and shockingly unprofessional. When I told the owner, instead of being horrified, she excused it by saying that seeing me cry upset Devonna even more. So according to this salon, it's acceptable for their staff to yell at a paying customer in the parking lot because their feelings were hurt? Disgusting. The receptionist was kind and apologetic, but the owner's reaction was beyond unacceptable. She never truly listened to what I didn't like about my hair -- every time I tried to explain, she brushed it aside and minimized my concerns instead of acknowledging them. Worst of all, she outright lied by saying I had yelled at Devonna -- something I never did. That lie was clearly meant to discredit me and invalidate everything I was saying. To be gaslit like that by the owner of the salon was shocking and insulting. This salon does not value customers, accountability, or basic professionalism. If you're paying high prices, you deserve respect and to be heard -- not dismissed, gaslit, and lied about. If you're someone who struggles to speak up for yourself, avoid this place at all costs. I will include a picture of the haircut I asked for and the haircut I got and you can tell me if you think its a $100+ haircut or even a good haircut.
