Went here for the first time last weekend. It was a great experience! The service was friendly and quick for weekend brunch time. The food was delicious! Loved the pancakes. Next time I'd love to try some other dishes and try some drinks as well!

This was my first time eating here. I was very pleased with the chilaquiles verdes. I am a vegetarian and I'm glad that they were able to serve it without the meat. Food was delicious, atmosphere was "brunchy" and they have mimosas. I was there to help celebrate my friend Diana's birthday and they were able to accommodate her large part of friends. Server was friendly, fun and easy to talk to. Very accommodating. I'd visit and eat here again. I recommend you visit.

Carrot, raisin and pecan pancakes

Went this past Sunday, my caramel hot latte was delicious not over sweet nor bitter. The carrot, pecan and raisin pancakes were amazing. Along with the rest of our order. Cute place welcoming for sure. It was clean just a recommendation that the waitress comes to check on you not just when you need to order something additional.

This place was the only restaurant on the street that we could get a table for a big group right away - though it looked more like it's popular during brunch, they still had a big dinner menu and margarita options. I tried the la toxica mezcal drink and the mango jalapeño margarita. Both were deliciously refreshing on this hot day. Our big group shared two orders of Cochinita pibil (Mexican pork) nachos. These were tasty and good to share. I also got the steak salad for my entree, which was fresh and delicious. My boyfriend's enchiladas though were just okay and nothing special though. Overall, this place was clean with nice ambiance and good food overall. The service was pretty slow though as we had to repeat a couple of orders and remind them.

This place was such a gem to come across! I was visiting Chicago and my best friend and i couldn't find too many places open for brunch on a Monday! But we came across this on Tiktok and I thoroughly enjoyed this brunch! I've been thinking about the Chilaquiles since I left! We ordered Beignets to share which were really good! They weren't your typical Beignets, they were a bit thicker, but I really liked the texture! I ordered the Spicy Chilaquiles and substituted my meat with the Turkey Chorizo! Super good! They were definitely spicy, but they were so flavorful! I loved them. We also got some green juice to start, I was sort of under the impression that it probably wasn't homemade from the way it tasted. It was good, but it tasted like it may have been in a bottle previously. The service here was really good and our server was very kind! I definitely would revisit when i'm in town!

Azul 18, not to be confused with Azul Mariscos is a great brunch spot in the Pilsen area. I visited on a Sunday morning, and there was plenty of street parking available. The restaurant has about 30 tables, but some of the table spacing is pretty tight, so if you have big hips like me, you'll be comfy seating on the bench seats, but squeeze your body in between the tables and be careful not to hit the patron sitting next to you! The menu has some classic items like waffles and pancakes, but their Mexican entrees are tasteful. Everything was good and I would definitely go back! We tried the following: Orange Strawberry Kiwi Juice Mexican Beignets with Raspberry Jam and Nutella Mexican Omelette with Refried Beans Short Stack of Pancakes Chilaquiles with Braised Short Ribs, Eggs, Guacamole, Sour Cream, Pico de Gallo, Queso and Hominy

Came for brunch and ordered their famous chilaquiles, and boy did it pack a bunch of flavors and the spicy habaneros punched me right in the mouth! I was surprised however to find that their menu is slightly overpriced, and to pay ~$20 for my chilaquiles I wished the portion was larger. The ambiance was cute, it gives a homey feel inside and the service from our waitress was good. It was worth to come check out, but not sure if I'd go out of my way to come again.

Halfway through the chorizo omelette, sooo good!

Great service and very tasty entrees. We had the torta Cubano and the chorizo omelette. Very fresh! Homemade lemonade was a treat.

Cute spot! Good brunch, nice service, outdoor seating. Chilaquiles were delicious, mole crepes also good. Ordered the mimosas and the bottle is la marca- great choice! Only comment would be to bring ice to put the Prosecco on to keep it cold. Enjoyed our brunch!

Outdoor seating

The server took 20 minutes just to bring us water. It took a long time for the food to come, just to fi a hair in my fruit.

I never have a complaint when I come here. Service is always great and fast. Everyone is friendly. I always order the same thing because the chilaquiles never disappoints. The house pancakes are a most. The space is kind of small but when I go I haven't had an issue with being sitted right away. It rarely go on weekends.

Guys do not skip off on the lattes and the cappuccinos!!!! They were divine. Our server was so attentive and sweet. We ordered the steak and eggs, traditional Benedict, lobster Benedict, chicken sandwich. The food was amazing and fresh. Service was top notch and so was the food. Saturday is packed, might have to wait for a bit but worth it in the end. Very cozy little restaurant at the corner they do have outdoor seating I believe. Full bar. Street parking only and for a Saturday we did struggle. Overall 10/10 A MUST!

So, y'all!!!! Everything was AWESOME!!! We started with mimosas in honor of St. Paddy's day!! They were green and delicious!!! Then we got the hash. I ordered corned beef hash. My friend got pork belly hash. Mine was better . The service was fast and friendly and the space was inviting.

Do I need to make a reservation for a Sunday brunch?

I have been on a Sunday before and had no issue! Mind you that was also in the summer with the outdoor seating open, but you should be fine I'd think.

Can you bring your own beer to here?

I don't think so as they have a bar there too. You can call and ask.

It's a masterclass in attention to detail, though the transparency comes with a side of tension. First of all, it is absolutely gorgeous inside! I am in awe of the fine details and want to meet the interior designers! Our waiter, Moe, was personable and friendly and offered us great recommendations. It was about half full at the time we were here - I saw a lot of people ordering the plantain chips! They must be good! We didn't order them, however. My boyfriend and I each got the weekdays meal deal where, for $29 a person, we get our choice of a salad or soup, then our choice of the entree, and a drip coffee and dessert. Since half the entrees cost nearly $29 to begin with, this is a great deal! I chose the kale salad with dressing on the side. My boyfriend chose the butternut squash soup. In our relationship, sharing is caring! So we each tried each other's food. My salad was unique - I liked the dressing and I LOVE when fresh fruit are in salads! We both liked the soup as well and finished both our appetizers. As is my tradition, I had to get their cubano. It is a very large portion, but I love cubanos! The pulled pork was pretty fatty but like, the perfect amount of fatty for the unhealthy sandwich that is a cubano! My boyfriend got the kimchi salmon entree. I'm not big into salmon, but he liked it! The dish is gorgeous, by the way. Chef Sandoval is a master in the art of making a dish very colorful. Look at that avocado! So fresh! The drip coffee was fine. And my side of French fries were the least interesting part of our meals. We didn't feel the need to finish the fries. Our meal deal dessert was a large chocolate chip cookie. My boyfriend ate his chocolate chip cookie right away. I had a bite to see how it was fresh, learned it tasted fine, and saved the rest of my cookie for later in the day for a nice afternoon treat! In all, after tax and tip, we left full and happy for about $75! Not bad for Chicago!

I went here with my best friend and my hubby to celebrate my birthday with a great birthday dinner…read more We were in the Chi already visiting Atlas Stationary as a self-proclaimed station and fountain pen freak so we figured why not?!? I had heard great things about Carnivale prior to so please note that prior reservations were already made but regardless, it was all our first times there and we were stoked to finally try this place out. When we first got there, the outside was very unassuming. Some awesome graffiti on the wall (yes, angel wings included) and lots of color which made me so happy! As we entered, we were greeted by lots of colored flora on the walls and the floor. It led to a beautiful lounge where we checked in. The hostess was quite kind and they escorted us to another room that had multiple floors, two I believe. We were sitting in the main dining area where dining tables were set up and the ceiling lights and decorations were super-duper colorful. It was brightly lit and festive. Seriously, the colors alone could make anyone happy and do a serious dopamine overload which was fine with me. We sat down, was introduced to our server, Oscar and then given menu's. I genuinely thought that this place was pretty small initially because it looked small from the outside but boy was I wrong! This place was MASSIVE. But! I digress, now that we had our menu's-- Let the party begin!! We started with the ceviche tasting which included four types of ceviche; shrimp, Yucatan style hamachi, salmon and tuna. All were really good with their own really distinct flavors but our top favorites were the salmon and the tuna. The salmon had a kick while the tuna had a great balance of heat and sweetness. Great way to start of this dinner! My bestie ordered coconut shrimp and smoked mushroom croquettes for her main meal. My hubs ordered the carne asado while I ordered the lechon asada. I also want to add that we ordered Mexican street corn on the side alongside mashed potatoes and Peruvian Jalea. Ah and before I forget, we also ordered our drinks which consisted of a: sangria, margarita, Cotton Candy Cosmo and Salva Honduran Pilsner. All were spectacular and made the night that more enjoyable as well! When we received our food. We were all really enjoyed it as we all shared our bites amongst one another. The coconut shrimp was well breaded and you tasted the coconut as well. The shrimps were large and juicy. The smoked mushroom croquettes were good with a smokey flavor and good breading, however, the breading may have a been a little thick because you couldn't really taste the mushroom,m unfortunately. The carne asado was the star of the show. Well seasoned steak, cooked medium rare which was juicy and succulent. The lechon asado was good. Although I'm not used to eating lechon asado that is covered in sauce, the sauce was super tasty so I didn't mind the tender, juicy pork that was covered in it. I really enjoyed it. I think the only thing that I wish was different with regards to my lechon asado is that I wish it were hotter because it was luke warm when I received it. Other than that, it was....*chef's kiss*. The Mexican street corn was alright, it honestly just tasted like regular corn with mayonaise in it with some cheese. Didn't add anything significant to the meal. The mashed potatoes were soft but not too soft and buttery. They were really good and then the Purvian Jalea was another favorite, super good! The calamari, fish and shrimp with the Purvian Jalea were absolutely delicious; fresh, tasty and well breaded. It was absolutely yummalicious. To top the night off, they gave me a little birthday treat of cotton candy and carmel popcorn. We also had some tres leches which was so yummy because the fruit was fresh and you could taste the milk in the tender cake and then we had the chocolate cigar. The chocolate cigar was also really good, everything except the label was edible, It was smokey, chocolately and delectable. It's presentation was also so creative. We all loved it. Overall, this restaurant is SUPER PRICY but SUPER WORTH IT. I am so glad that I was able to go there to celebrate a special occasion because it would not be a place that I could go to on a regular basis but as much as I wish I was, ya girl ain't rich like that. The service was superb, the employees were kind, the food was fire and drinks were scrumptious. If you're looking for a fun, Latin cuisine inspired, creative, yummy way to celebrate a birthday, anniversary or other special occasion with a fun Latin twist--look no further, that is it! Check it out and you won't be disappointed. Now, I'm sorry for my novel and you may now go back to your normal programming schedule. If you do end up coming here and loving it -- i told ya so ;)
