This place is the bees knees absolutely love their food. I get the chilaquiles almost every day. The spicy one isn't really that spicy but it's okay if you can handle a little kick. We went as a big group for brunch outside under the tent during COVID. Great and friendly service by all waitstaff. I treated myself (who am I kidding--I don't limit my cake intake!) to the short stack of the carrot cake pancakes. Delicious! And the next day I woke up dreaming of the cream cheese topping. Really loved the vibes of this restaurant & the food was pretty good! I had waffles with fruit & chocolate chips, as well as an omelet with potatoes. The waffles were 9/10 & the omelet was soooo fresh - 10/10 forsure. If you come here, you MUST order a side of potatoes. They were so crispy on the outside & soft on the inside. This was our first time here after hearing great reviews from friends and family and we absolutely loved it! We came for brunch and ordered the Azul 18 breakfast as well as the chilaquiles. Both were SO delicious. I loved the breakfast biscuit it was freshly made and just melts in your mouth. The chilaquiles were cooked to perfection with amazing flavor. We also ordered the orange strawberry kiwi juice that was fresh squeezed and so delicious. The service here is really great our waitress was very on top of our table. The parking is very limited street parking with maybe 3 spots right in front that are free and they do not take reservations (although worth the wait!). Starting off with drinks, when I asked for freshly squeezed orange juice k was expecting a Meduim sized.. average sized cup for $3.50... Instead I received a tiny wine looking glass. The fruit plate is my favorite item on the breakfast menu, followed by the healthy egg white dish - an open face egg white and vegetable dish that hits the spot. There is NO upcharge to get fresh fruit or a salad in place of the potatoes. The husband has enjoyed almost every one of the omelette and benedict options. The pancakes are A-OK (not heart healthy). The service can be slow, but it is always enthusiastic, friendly and attentive. The coffee is very good. I recommend Azul 18. read more

I ordered the Mexican omelette and it was extremely oily, the taste was similar to that of fries cooked in day old oil. I returned the dish and replaced it with the special chilaquiles. This dish was also below expectations, the sauce was bland, it has hominy which was too chewy. The flavor was just not that of a dish that you would order again. Honestly maybe it was what we ordered, but after reading some of the reviews, this place is either a hit or miss on service and food. During our experience, the service was definitely on point, but the food was nothing to rave over. It was honestly just mediocre. Time: 1030-11am on Saturday Service: Friendly and pretty attentive. My coffee was consistently full. Food: Disappointing and mediocre. We got: - Azul 18 breakfast and asked for the eggs to be over easy, but half the eggs were overcooked. Dry biscuit and just regular bacon and sausage. - Special of the day: Apple and walnut challah french toast. The constancy of the bread was off. Some slices were thick than others which causes the batter to soak differently so the thick pieces was pretty much just bread whereas the thinner pieces were actually french toast. I figured the special was the way to go, but sadly it wasn't the case. It just seemed like their specials meant they needed to get rid of inventory aka the walnuts because they were super stale. Overall Pilsen is diverse and upcoming area that I have yet to fully explore. I've been wanting to try this place for the longest time and finally got the chance to stop by and let me to you I am not impress. Upon arrival it was quite empty so that was a red flag signal. What made it the worst was that I got the steak egg Benedict and if the waitress asked me how I like my steak and if I said medium, I was hoping that it would be medium. But unfortunately, it was burnt! On top of that, my piece of steak was so tiny. I had steak Benedict for other places and their portion was much more fair in comparison. Then for that, my egg I felt was over cook because usually the egg would be oozing with perfection but azul 18 eggs were just laying with barely any yolk oozing out. This is sleepy spot in Chicago for Mexican breakfast. The Chilliquilles served here are my favorite in the city. The Chilliquilles at Cafe Selmarie used to be my favorite but since they changed the recipe, Axum 18 has taken the top spot. The Huevos Rancheros is also quite amazing so you can't go wrong with either. I have not the variety of pancakes and French Toast served but the bites I've had off of my families' plates have been fantastic. The staff is also very kind and prompt. A couple days ago, me & hubby were walking around Pilsen when we noticed this new spot, so since we were felling adventurous we decided to give it a try: The Service was right on point, Jose Cruz took care of us in a marvelous way, he was attentive without being annoying, and I really appreciate that when I go out.. The food was also amazing, and I have to admit that I like the fact that our food came out in a decent amount of time, my husband had the fish tacos, my son had the french toast and I had the beef burger, and I have cero complaints about the food,nice flavor with a nice presentation. For what I noticed seems like a good restaurants for groups also, oh, and for kids!! Our server mentioned that initially they were open only for brunch but they are also going to be open for dinner starting on October 16. So guys, I do believe this new spot deserves a try! Happy to see a normal restaurant occupy a good spot on this block with Beurrage bakery and across the street from Thalia Hall and Honky Tonk BBQ. This is not a gastropub, not a new concept, not a make advance reservations, not a grass fed beef, not an all ingredients sources within 50 miles, not a must try restaurant. Just a nice low key restaurant for regular folks to have eggs and coffee on Saturday morning. And hopefully at my next visit, some dinner. A fantastic locally owned restaurant and bar in Pilsen. The menu was really big and there were plenty of options. We had the beignets with raspberry sauce and chocolate, and they were phenomenal. For our entree we had the huevos rancheros and they hit the spot. The meal was less than $20 before we tipped and the service was amazing. The color palette on the interior was lovely and there was a cute mural on the wall. There are plenty of tables and daily specials, too. I definitely need to come back the next time I'm in Chicago! I finally tried the chilaquiles and they were on point! The tortilla chips are made fresh and the eggs, sour cream and guacamole on top balanced everything.
