I've been looking for "tacos al pastor" and this place had it! It was delicious and I was not disappointed. My wife had a carne Asada torta and she was also pleased with her meal. They have those new coke fountain machines that have 100 selections! Didn't count the number of selections but I was a large amount. They have a selection of Mexican beer and margaritas too. You seat yourself and they bring out the food to you. The service was rather quick considering that it was extremely busy. The staff was also friendly. Their tacos are good, the meat has some good flavor so it's not just your regular taco. The burritos on the other hand, for how much you pay for it it's not worth it. Also prefer to call in your orders than ordering at the spot, they take awhile to make your food. read more

Food was fresh, flavorful and well prepared. On the downside, tables could have been cleaned a bit better. I was in today at 4:00, they were not busy yet, about 6 people. There were 3 or 4 employees sitting at a table on their phonez, with one poor girl taking orders, fulfilling orders and delivering them. I am worried about the forks / spoons and knives open basket where anyone and everyone reaches in and touches (not by the handle) what will be your next spoon or fork or knife. The food had always been good tasting. BEWARE THE CHILI RELLANO BURRITO. We always order a chili relleno burrito there. Well we order it last night october 25 2017 and there were two giant tooth picks in each of our burritos. I take the first burrito up to the counter because I had not started mine yet. The guy takes the burrito and says sorry it's how we hold the chili relleno together. I ask them to remake it we didn't appreciate bitting into it. So the lady from the back comes out and tells me my second one also has it and to bring it over.... She proceeded to cut my food and then tell me to pull the toothpick out. They remade my husband's but not mine. And she didn't tell me there was a second one in mine... So it scratched the roof of my mouth. It was a very upsetting experience. As I started with though the food did taste good... I just wish it had been wood free. read more

I got the Al Pastor and the Aztex taco. Both meets were dry. The al pastor was super dry and burnt tasting-very disappointed! the rice and beans were standard basic stuff. Maybe I should have gone with one of the Quesatacos from the reviews they were good. When I left San Diego behind to move to the metropolis that is Temecula, I also left behind some amazing Mexican food joints. Since I live on a diet of beer, burritos, and beer, I had to immediately find a replacement for such San Diegian greats as Colima's, Ranchos, and El Zarape. After suffering through a few mediocre burrito joints in Temecula, I was finally blessed when I ran into Aztek Tacos. Since I am a vegetarian, there are only two menu options for me at this place, though i really only need one of them. The Aztek Breakfast Burrito is filled with eggs, nopalitos, tomatoes, onions, and cilantro (mmmmm). The tortilla meets a high standard and there salsa bar gets 4.5 stars (chipotle salsa and onions with Serrano peppers). And did I mention the nopal? Seriously, this is a Mexican staple which is not served in many restaurants in Southern Cal. Anywho, come eat at this place and do it during slightly atypical eating hours if you don't want to wait in a line or wrestle a little league team for a seat. I guess it doesn't really get that crowded, but i have seen it full several times. Chances are good that they will also have a futbol game going on one with their TVs, and a novela on the other. The asada tacos were the same as we get in Cabo and Rosarito,MX. I felt like I was back there. Salsa bar had roasted pepper salsa and grilled onions. They even had Pastor tacos. Pacifica beer and Mexican soft drinks. Not as cheap as Mexico but a lot closer. read more

Absolutely one of the best Mexican restaurants in town. Fresh food and hand made tortillas all made right in front of you. Excellent home made salsas, all you can eat homemade chips and excellent friendly staff. Food brought to your table. Very affordable as well. We came into the restaurant at 8pm and there was still a couple of people in line to order. We were going to order one bean, cheese and rice burrito to go. So not a rocket science. When we came to the front of the line, it was 8:04pm and we were told they won't serve us anymore because it was after 8pm. There were no other people behind us. The kitchen was still making food and there were 15-20 people in the restaurant still sitting and eating. As we walked out, they locked the doors behind us. So not cool to be waiting in line for dinner and be turned away. Ironically we went back the next day and it took them less then 3 min to make the burrito. They also give out complimentary chips for for-here orders but charge $1.50 if you want those same chips in your to-go order. The food is ok but the management of this establishment is not understanding what good customer service is and that is directly trickled down to the staff. The cooks and servers had a grumpy attitude that they have to still serve the last order. If you pay the workers better then minimum wage, you can ask for higher standards in treating your customers who are keeping you in business in the first place. Lots of flies inside the restaurant and overall cleanliness is low 3. Again, the food is great so no complaints there. read more

The place was pretty busy when I arrived , we waited in line for about 5min . Then waited for our food for about 30min. The girl running food and bussing tables looked like she hated her job so much! She didn't smile once or say thank you when she gave us our food. To top it off some one had mentioned that they had spilled some salsa and needed it cleaned up so no one would slip on it.. they never cleaned it and people kept dodging the spill. Finally a lady (NOT A WORKER) found the wet floor sign and placed it over the spill so no one would get hurt .. The Food wasn't bad! Aztec tacos is my favorite Mexican food place in this area. Their California burritos are the best I've had. They use quality meat here. It's real carne asada and it's not salty like other Mexican chains in the area. I've had their chicken tacos and it's delicious. The chicken isn't tough to eat and the sauce they put on top of it makes it even better. I'm not a fan of their rolled tacos though, but I can manage with their California burrito and carne asada fries. This place gets pretty busy, so expect a wait especially during dinner time. read more
