I love coming to Azteca for brunch on a Sunday. When you walk in it's beautifully decorated and everyone is busy working non stop. We were seated immediately and our server was really nice, helpful, and answered all our questions. In our group we had 10 people and a lot of food was ordered but everything's came out perfect. All the food was great and hot, my only dislike of the whole meal was the table side guacamole. It was fresh but it was lacking flavor and definitely needed more lime. It also only came with tortilla strips, avocado, chicken and broth. Most restaurants offer this soup with rice. It's also pretty spicy. Service was great and the food was very good. We did the table side guacamole which was a little expensive considering as a vegan the bacon and queso had to be removed. I wish they would have discounted it without those items as those are expensive ingredients. Should be a separate up charge to make it cheesy and meaty if someone wants to make their guacamole that way. It was very delicious regardless. I got the vegetable burrito without any dairy products and it had tons of vegetables with a delicious verde salsa. We were sat next to a table of 35 people who screamed and yelled and clapped every few minutes to celebrate a birthday which good for them but it took away from our dining experience. I felt like I had gone to a concert and needed ear buds to block out the noise. I had to yell my order to the server and to talk to my friend we had to yell. Something like that should be booked far away from other people dining. It was the worst noise I have ever experienced in a restaurant when we just went to catch up after not seeing each other for about a year. Something for the manager and host team to think about. Maybe large parties that feel like they are having their own private party should have to pay a fee to be there after hours so they can scream and yell without impacting others dining experience. Just a thought. Food was good. This was my first experience. Not sure I would go back unless there was a guarantee for normal noise levels. What a fun experience. If there was more seating, it would've been nice to sit outside to enjoy to enjoy the view, but there wasn't enough seating to accommodate a table of 5. They have a gratuity charge of 20% for tables of 6 or more. The Arroz con Mariscos was incredible! It was a special on their menu and I was impressed by the seafood. I have a shrimp allergy and they were able to put it to the side. The Mexican rice could've used a little more flavor, but the soup base of the dish made it incredibly savory. The portions were huge and overall the table loved their food. The salsa was one of the best salsas we've had at a Mexican restaurant. It had a small kick that gave it the perfect flavor. There is not a way to make reservations, I would suggest going early because parking is crazy late in the Eve time. We had to valet which complimentary. We sat in the back corner, the restaurant was busy as expected on a Friday night. It was loud as well apparently it's like that on Friday and Sunday which they had Mariachi Band. Ehhhh. I expected better quality food here and more authentic mexican staff like Winter Haven location. Lake Nona is a upscale town. SO expectations are somewhat high here. The view of the restaurant is gorgeous. Seated nearby the outdoor near the lake but we were still considered inside. The noise level is not that bad even after the 5 o'clock crowd hits. Staff here are mostly non mexican but in the hispanic descent. Service here sucked. They serve happy hour only for drinks. No special on appetizers. Ordered the following: Birria tacos with refried beans and mexican rice - These were served open faced. The au jus was served on the side. I hear these were ok. Horchata - This drink was not served with cinnamon. That was another miss! Chicken Macho Burrito - I requested La Crema Sauce with this. When it was served the burrito was larger than the one I got from winter haven. However the taste of the chicken was not as flavorful as the one in winter haven. I can only eat half of this plate when it is served to me. Fried Oreo Ice Cream - This was not FRIED. It was a scoop of ice cream that was rolled on crushed oreos. Then was served in a plate with chocolate drizzle and fried flour tortillas. They had 2 options... vanilla or oreo - I think if we got the vanilla it would have been fried? So it was sliced in 4's when it was served not balled up like the vanilla one. It pretty much tasted like oreo ice cream or cookie and cream ice cream. Churros - This was about 5-6 pcs of pinky length churros with caramel drizzle served with a tortilla bowl and vanilla ice cream. Drink service was ok we had to flag down the server a few times for things we needed. This is one of my favorite places to come for authentic Mexican food. The service is always top notch and the servers are super knowledgeable about the menu and what's good to eat that day. The drinks are always fantastic and you can't beat the giant $10 mojito with a TON of options for flavors. It's normally fairly noisy in there, which I love, as it brings a ton of great atmosphere to your dining experience. I can't remember when I didn't see a large party celebrating something within the dining area. Their outside seating is some of the best in the area as it sits directly on a nice lake with a fountain in the center of it. If you are going for the first time, I would recommend their Molcajete - it is packed full of steak, chicken, and seafood and I would recommend this to share with someone as it's HUGE. read more

Azteca D' Oro's got some pretty good food, but there was never anything that caused me to crave another visit. That was until I had the chowder! We came here for a team lunch, and I'd heard the Birria Tacos were good, so I decided to give them a try. The tacos were very good, as are Azteca's chimichangas. But they both paled in comparison to the chowder. If I'd known it would be that good, I'd have skipped the tacos and ordered a whole bowl. Maybe two. Don't let the tequila scare you, it's just there for flavor. There is a good amount of spiciness if that's a concern for you. My son ordered the birria tacos and I ordered the pollo adobado tacos which looked like fake chicken. Neither had any flavor what so ever. Not the tacos, not the rice, not the beans. Everything was super bland. No flavor at all. Where's the garlic, the cilantro, the gusto of Mexico??? Not at this place! Very disappointed! Will not be returning.
