We've been to Armando's numerous times but yesterday was the first time where the service was a disaster. I went with a group of eight. It was a Wednesday night and was not busy at all. There were two other large parties in the restaurant and our server could not keep up with service. He took our drink and food order and then disappeared. When the food finally came out, there was no silverware on the table, all drinks were empty, and the men were served 10 to 15 minutes before the women's food was ready. He was working the entire time, it was not a case of being lazy, but there are no circumstances where food should be served like that. No manager ever came to the table, even though we asked for one item to be removed because it was cold. I'm very disappointed. I hope this is not a new trend with the restaurant. A group of us are at Armando's for a friend's birthday. The apps and entrees were lovely-- I had the Pollo Tatiana but asked for the shrimp on the side to give a friend since I don't eat it. The flavors in the sauce were fantastic and there was a good toppings to sauce to pasta ratio. As for food menu is limited compared to other Italian restaurants I've gone to. I ordered the chicken Parmesan and I will say it was generous portion the spaghetti was a little o the dry side and lacking flavor. We were with a larger group and we had mixed reviews on the food, some liked it some didn't . My husband had the pollo Tatiana and his was tasty the sauce was flavorful and creamy. Perfect way to end my day. I went into Armando's and the young lady at the host stand was incredibly friendly , helpful and inviting. I was looking for a specific noodle before I sat down and I wanted to make sure they had what I was looking for. She was kind enough to tell me what noodles they had in the store before I decided to sit down. Now my server Jahyn paul very lovely guy. He has a lot of charisma and is overall a great person to be around. He gave me options , helped me find what I was looking for while recommending some other items. Lake Nona-I hadn't planned on writing a review for Armando's. BUT...We were astonished by the end of our meal when we got our check!!!! There were three of us, and we decided to share a pizza, and then get 3 entrées. While looking over the menu, our waitress stopped by to ask if we had any questions. Two of us wanted the same dish, although we do not like spicy sauce. The waitress mentioned that we could have whatever sauce we would like. We both agreed that we would like to try the vodka sauce. Our food came out and my New York girlfriends agreed that the pizza was very lackluster and had no flavor. I do not care for the pizza in Orlando, so I am not a good judge of character on that!! lol Two of us got the Gamberoni with scallops and shrimp, along with the vodka sauce. The other entrée was a chicken piccata. The taste was delicious, but the taste that was left in our mouth at the end of the night was very very bitter. They actually had the nerve to charge us FIVE EXTRA dollars for our vodka sauce!!! The waitress never said a word to us and we had no idea. Weren't you going to put the sauce on in the first place????? Yes, yes you were, so why in the world would you charge us extra for a sauce you are already going to put on the entrée ?????? 5 Aug 25: We had a wonderful meal at Armando's. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was pleasant inside with a calming atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The waiter (Jhan P) got us started with a tasty recommendation, a meatball appetizer...wow really yummy with tasty flavor and tomato sauce. Next we enjoyed two wonderful entree's, Lasagna and Polpette with Chicken. Both entrees were delicious with lots of flavor and impressive portion sizes. Our desert choices included Limoncello Cake and Tiramasu...boom! What a yummy experience this meal was from start to finish. To start crystal took care of us and wow she made you feel like family! I mean i felt like id known her forever after our experience. She's very personable and professional. We have been there a couple times now because of her hospitality the carbonara and pizza is our go too!! Food is great as well. It's my second time visiting this location and yet again best lasagna I have had! It's located in a spaced placa in Lake Nona, always good parking. Had a great little Valentine's dinner here at Armando's. It was our first time there and it was very pleasant. We were seated immediately since we had reservations which was nice but I wasn't the biggest fan of where we were. We were seated in the corner next to the rack of plates, silverware and to go boxes which meant lots of waiter traffic. Oh well, couldn't really help that I guess. Food was out very quickly and tasted very fresh and flavorful! I really loved my scallops and pasta. Our waiter was great and friendly but he did seem to disappear after we got our food which left us waiting for quite some time to get the check. Would not allow us to order bottles of Prosecco and OJ on side to make our own Mimosa for brunch. We loved Armando's for many years. We loved the people and the food was consistently very good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Recently, the College Park location seems to be experiencing a change in people as many of our favorites are no longer there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] As for the food, we loved the Chicken Milanese with whipped potato's. Well, you can no longer get potatoes, and instead, the dish comes with spaghetti. Also, we overheard someone say that they did away with Arugula because it was too expensive. Our favorite dessert is no longer available as well. :( My guess is that the owner over expanded and is now trying to compensate by cutting costs on people's favorites. You can tell by how the owner made changes to the menu with a scalpel. Instead, the owner should have ADDED new cocktails and delicious new dishes. It has been a while since I visited Armando's. A few years ago I would meet with a small group of friends for brunch in the Winter Park location. We always had a great time and the service awesome as usual. Recently this year, 2024, I was able to go to the Lake Nona location with the hubs to try it out and enjoy some pizza together. The location is nice, ample seating, nice terrace overlooking a small lake and good parking. The service was great and the complimentary bread with dipping oil and balsamic plus the pizza were also great. However, I still prefer the restaurant in Winter Park...I don't know, call me nostalgic maybe. So after a few months, this July, we went with another group of friends to Armando's Winter Park. The older establishment felt familiar and cozy with it's rustic ambience. We just had a great time! Ordered the Carne Pizza which I shared with the hubs. Came out nice and hot and the meats were fresh and tasty. Although my favorite is the Prosciutto e Fichi (fig jam) but we were celebrating a late very late Father's day so we went with the hubs preference. I will definitely be back to Armando's WP but I will wait for cooler temps before I visit the one in Lake Nona so I can eat out on their new terrace. It has a nicer view. Party of 11---Big food portions , food was fresh and very tasty, only a few reasons for a 2i because service didn't offer refills just once and food for 11 people came out at all different times times. Some were done while others waited. Again had to try to get attention of our server to get refills for soda and bread also Parma cheese.Also read heath code violations. Honestly was disappointed we had 5 separate checks and 2 were single only they added gratuities thought that was for 4-5 only . Anyways we will be having family gatherings elsewhere disappointing. LOVE this spot! The in-house marinara sauce is so amazing! I need to call and ask what tomatoes they use to make it. I tried two appetizers and split a chicken parmigiana entree with a friend. That entree is huge, to split it with someone. It's a great deal (for Italian food) even if you don't! They offer free bread to everyone, but they never gave us any at 6:30 p.m. We asked and they said they might be out for the day, but will check (and we were there till 10). Upon entering we were sat in the corner and shortly greeted by a rather hurried server. Armando's has a great menu with a wide array of selections. We started our dinner with the Calamari. After tasting the appetizer I would not recommend such. The appetizer was overly cooked and very chewy. As for our server no where to be found. He simply was in too much of a hurry to even listen We noticed bread baskets being brought to other tables with olive oil and what seemed to be a balsamic reduction. However our server just couldn't be bothered with that. Next we ordered two meals one was the pollo Tatiana which was good but only wished we could have had the option of cracked pepper and parmigiana cheese like what other servers were giving to their guests. My wife had the shrimp carbonara which again could have been elevated with cracked pepper and parmigiana cheese. From seeing how other servers took care of their guests would I come back, maybe. If one was to try Armando's they certainly would do great to not have the server that parades himself with his shirt half buttoned. Finally one should add if one desires a refill on their beverage it behooves them to ask the bar tender or another server for our server was too busy talking to others to care. This was our first time at Armando's. We came here looking for an Italian restaurant with a variety of choices, including pizza, and we were very pleased. The place was nice and the staff super friendly. We ordered a vegetarian pizza and the prosciutto e fich pizza after a suggestion of our waitress. I was a bit hesitant since I had never tried figs on a pizza before, but it was fantastic! It was so much better than the traditional ones! We will come back and order that specific pizza soon enough! As starters we ordered fried calamari and french fries with Parmesan and truffle oil (my favorites) and for dessert we ordered an orange sherbet (delicious) and a tiramisu. We wanted to try a new to us Italian spot for dinner and decided to order from Armando's via Uber Eats. We chose the arancini appetizer, spaghetti con polpette (spaghetti and meatballs), and the pollo di tatiana which was chicken, baby shrimp, sun dried tomatoes, and pasta in a vodka cream sauce. The food arrived pretty quickly and was still warm and fresh. The arancini doesn't travel as well which I expected, but was still tasty. My only complaint was the filling was a bit salty for my taste, but it was well made and the risotto filling was perfectly creamy. My boyfriend absolutely love the spaghetti and meatballs. Meatballs are one of his favorite things and he said these were some of the best he's had. I enjoyed my chicken Tatiana as well. The chicken was tender, I loved the baby shrimp, the pasta was well prepared, and the sauce was yummy. Overall, we found the food from Armando's to be quite good.
