We were invited to have dinner with a group of friends last night. The atmosphere was very nice. It definitely gave the Italy vibes with the decor and colors of the decorations. My husband, nephew and I really enjoyed the not only the ambiance but the food was phenomenal! Everything in pretty sure is homemade. The pasta had a different texture to it but so satisfying. That how I almost positive that it was homemade. The meatballs as well! Tender and melts in your mouth. The sauce that the meatballs were satisfyingly drenched in made my taste buds dance. I confuse, the sauce that was left after eating the meatballs I scooped it up with a spoon and ate it with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese on top. The refreshing salad that went together with the crispy fried chicken complimented themselves like a bride and groom ment to be together for life. Truly there is satisfaction in eating when you are hungry but nothing beats the satisfaction of not only hunger but also when the veriaty of food passes the the test of flavors and the presentation of each plate. The waitress played a big part in making this night perfection. She was very attentive despite the amount of people were there. Not to mention not everyone arrived at the same time. She was patient and very nice. Planning on returning again. We had such a wonderful time. Until next time.

My new favorite Italian restaurant! We went during their soft opening. As soon as we sat down, they brought over a bowl of Italian crackers. We ordered cocktails, calamari appetizer, pizza, gnocchi, and chicken bolognese. Everything was delicious. My gnocchi meal was so good. I usually bring home half my meal as a leftover but the gnocchi was so good that I couldn't stop eating it. I love the lemon theme in the restaurant. All employees are very friendly and welcoming.

I love a good soft opening... ;) From the folks who bring you Mangia, this new (March 2026) restaurant in Avalon Park adds its 3rd "high" quality Italian restaurant to the area. Will Avalon Park become Little Italy? We were lucky enough to snag a table during the soft opening and luckily, a waiter from Mangia (just down the block) recognized us and made sure we had a table. I'm Avalon Park Italian Restaurant famous, I guess. The decor was bright and had lots of lemon themed art which made me want the limoncello martini which was fresh, lemony, and strong. The first sip was like a hug and kiss from Mr. Clean... wow! The Positano Punch was bright and flavorful and a bit more balanced. They had a limited menu but it had lots of options. The special was a light pasta dish with zucchini and shrimp and it was so good. The pasta dish with shrimp, clams, and mussels was also great. It didn't taste fishy at all which honestly, was a first for me with a dish like this. The staff was amazing and our waitress made recommendations and you could tell she tried everything and loved it all. It was helpful in making that first decision on what to order. Everyone was so friendly and it was nice having familiarity with Mangia staff helping out. I plan on returning for some of the other items on the menu. It's a bit small on the inside, so reservations are recommended for sure.

We came in for an appetizer and this place did not fail!!! They turned around the establishment from what it used to be and the food they offer just makes your mouth water from reading. They offer seafood, pasta, salads, risotto and more. Limoncello spritz is delicious for anyone who love a crisp beverage. The Arancini Misti was chefs kiss, we appreciate Tonino's recommendation! The setting makes you feel like you are in Italy, very welcoming vibe. Food is made to order and you will not be disappointed, you feel like Nonna made it.

Just a heads up, the ordering experience is a little different. They bring you water, but everything else is ordered from your phone. Personally, I usually prefer more traditional table service if I'm sitting down, but for what it is, it works just fine. Now the real star... the pepperoni, jalapeño, honey pizza. I'm not even exaggerating when I say I think about it weekly. The sweet + spicy combo is unreal. They also have a bar, which makes it feel like a great spot for after-work drinks or a casual happy hour meetup. Overall, definitely a solid go-to downtown.

The inside is pretty small with just a few tables, but it's attached to a brewery which makes it a great setup because you can grab your pizza and head over for a beer. If you're going with someone, my recommendation is definitely to split a pizza and get the "Kale Me on My Cellphone" salad. The salad is honestly so good and loaded with toppings like artichokes, tomatoes, bacon, egg, and cheese. The green goddess dressing completely makes it super fresh, bright, and zingy. I even ended up dipping my pizza crust into the dressing because it was that good. This time we ordered the Gabagool, and I've had the Green Ranger in the past. Both pizzas are super flavorful and really well done. I think I slightly prefer the pizzas with the pistachio pesto base because the flavor combo is so unique, but honestly you can't go wrong with either option. Definitely one of those casual spots that feels a little underrated and worth checking out if you're in the area.

I've had NYC pizza that fit the definition perfect - but was boring - this ain't that! The sauce is really bold and flavorful - the cheese is perfect - and the dough is thin and stiff but has a nice chew still. I always rate NYC style pizzas on their cheese slice - but once I knew that was good I got a Margherita and it blew me away! DEFINITELY worth the upgrade. The fresh garlic throughout was awesome - definitely real fresh garilc - not from a jar. The basil was fresh and vibrant. This is the best Margherita I've ever had in the NYC style. It's a no-frills place where you walk up to a basic counter, order from the menu over your head, and then sit down and they bring you your food. Sodas are available from the tap which you refill yourself, which I prefer. Have been back already and will go back more.

What keeps it interesting, though, is how the atmosphere continues to evolve while staying true to its roots. At its core, this is classic New York-style grab-and-go pizza. You order by choosing slices through the glass, with plenty of options that go beyond traditional toppings--standouts like chicken bacon ranch and buffalo-style slices are clearly crowd favorites. The atmosphere is where Gitto's really shines. From the outside, it looks like a simple hole-in-the-wall, but once inside, there's more personality and energy than you'd expect. The complimentary garlic knots were an unexpected and appreciated bonus. The dough is flavorful and familiar--exactly what you want from a NYC-style slice. I ordered the chicken bacon ranch, and it delivered: not overly sauced (which is key, since ranch can easily overpower), perfectly cooked bacon, and solid chicken that didn't taste frozen or pre-made. Pizza is subjective, and this is just my experience--but it's important to judge Gitto's for what it is. This is New York grab-and-go pizza, not Italian, Chicago, Detroit, or a big chain like Papa John's. If you know the style going in and set your expectations accordingly, this place absolutely delivers.

Once I tried the sauce, I knew pizza was gonna be great (and it was!) I decided to also put in an order for the meatballs. The meatballs and the pizza came out there roughly around the same time. The meatballs were so great. I even forgot to take a picture. The outdoor patio at the time was very quiet and conveniently shaded because of the time of the day. Overall, I was extremely impressed with the food and would 100% come back. Next time I want to try to dine inside too.
