Armando's is simply heaven on earth . I've been here 4 times and never do they fail to impress me . The rigatoni is a cheese lovers paradise ! The prices are extremely fair. Always full of people and the servers always seem to be happy here. Michaelangelo , I'm sorry if i got the name wrong , he is amazing . Very good wine knowledge and recommendations. LAKE NONA - Our party of 5 was seated at the front door. When we asked to sit at the back of the restaurant near the lake we were told those tables were reserved. Not true - all those were still empty at the end our meal. We asked for bread service and were given a small basket of broken match stick pieces of bread. They kept saying they were making more but apparently this also was not true because the next time we only received crumbs again at the bottom of a basket. I ordered Chicken Marsala with mushrooms, the mushrooms must have been shredded because there was nothing on the plate but a large serving of spaghetti with a huge amount of dark brown gravy and a recooked chicken breast buried in the middle. To add insult to injury, they added 20% gratuity to the check for a party of 5 for service that hardly warranted a tip. The hostesses were rude, we had to ask for refills on the drinks, even for water and the food was mediocre. I went to Armando's for dinner. When we first entered the hostess stand there wasn't anyone there and we had to wait a few minutes, which was weird because there was barely any customers inside. We chose to sit outside because the weather was beautiful and there was a nice view of water and a fountain. They gave us some complimentary bread with balsamic and oil. The bread was ok but the balsamic stuck to the bottom of the dish and the only thing you could taste when you dipped the bread was the olive oil, I scrubbed the dish to get the balsamic flavor and it looked like it was painted to the dish and wouldn't absorb into the bread. We ordered Arancini as an appetizer and it took a long time to get to us. The presentation was really nice and the red sauce delicious but the actual arancini were really bland. Thank goodness we had enough of the red sauce to give it flavor. My husband ordered Chicken Alfredo and I ordered Pollo Scarpariello. The chicken alfredo was just ok, the alfredo sauce had a faint taste of cheese. The pollo scarpariello didn't have any strong flavors and was bland. The presentation and the portion sizes are perfect but the flavors not so much. This was my first time trying Armando's and my last. read more

I really wanted to like this place. It had all the right pieces, but together it just fell flat. Upon entry, the hostesses were so kind and sweet- I just wish I could say the same for the serving staff. My server seemed like he would be super kind upon coming to the table, but we were quickly met with an attitude when we needed more time to look at the drink menu. At that point, he disappeared for a good 20 minutes- and the restaurant was dead (it was a late lunch). Fast forward from that, our entrees are coming out and they look hot and delicious; taste is amazing, quality seems good, all expected from a step above an Olive Garden. However, once I got home, I immediately realized I have food poisoning. Twenty minutes later, so does my husband. The food was tasty, the drinks were good, but at what cost? What can I say about Armando's, well only the best things. This restaurant is a short drive from my house and I couldn't be happier. This restaurant is one of our favorites. The food here is fantastic, we've had among other things the risotto alla pescatore, so flavorful and loaded with seafood, papperdelle pasta, I've had the smoked salmon version with a saffron cream sauce, perfection. My favorite appetizer is the arancini risotto balls, stuffed with mozzarella, lightly breaded and fried, served on a layer of marinara sauce. Their weekend brunches are just as delicious, try the crespella crepe filled with orange ricotta or nutella or the sicilian bake. They also have bottomless bellini or mimosas. Last but not least, the lemoncello cake is moist, creamy and worth the calories. Sitting on the outdoor patio enjoying a drink and eating fabulous food...what could be better. read more

Went for lunch today. Walked in and gal at the entrance was too busy on her phone to see us let alone greet us. We had to initiate contact. Got seated and opted to sit inside rather then outdoors due to the warm climate and ongoing rain. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere had it not been for the audio of a television show coming from the kitchen which was in an open area . I can't imagine how this is allowed to happen. It ruined the atmosphere completely. You'd think restaurateurs would know this. Granted there were only two tables occupied, there is no excuse. Our waiter was very good and the food was their saving grace. We had two pizzas and Caesar salad. One of the best pizza we've ever had. They definitely need to work on customer service. Do not go to this location!!! I went to the restaurant with a friend for Cinco De Mayo. My friend was charged for his meal and then charged for someone else's meal. He went back to the restaurant the following day to dispute the charge with the manager. The manager claims that this happens often and they will refund the money by Tuesday, May 9, 2023. Once the charge was not refunded he returned to the restaurant to inquire why he was not refunded. The manager then state "oh are you sure you didn't go somewhere else". Which makes no sense because both charges $28.18 and $30.18 at 7:58 PM at Armando's Lake Nona, 10775 Narcoossee Rd location. You have to wonder if this is something that happens on a regular basis. read more

Man this place is disappointing. The Caprese salad ($13) had 3 slices of an unripe tomato slices, 4 basil leaves, and dew drops of balsamic vinaigrette. Who thought that made sense? We chose Armandos for a last minute date night. When we walked in hostess was cleaning menus with her back turned to the entrance so it took a few minutes for her to notice we were there. We requested to sit outside as it was beautiful night and the ambiance was perfect...we even got to to see the rocket go off! Calamari was okay but we loved the scallops appetizer...the sauce was soooo good and perfect for dipping the bread. The carbonara was delicious and the limoncello cake was perfect for dessert. Stay weird 2020! We tried Armando's via a delivery app and it was really good. Like so many of us on Yelp, my wife & I have started a huge list of places we haven't been to in person, but have only had either take-out or delivery from. This year has been a weird one. I've mentioned this is several of my reviews for Italian places, but my wife has a long-standing tradition of ordering chicken parmigiana the first time she tries an Italian place. Her logic is sound. If you can't nail that super simple meal, you probably can't nail the difficult ones. She said it was very delicious. I tried the Pizza Imbottita, which was the fanciest calzone I've ever had. I will say that they nailed it. It was delicious. I will also say that I probably won't get it again because I have discovered I'm not a fancy calzone kind of guy. While it was amazingly flavorful, it's just not what I was expecting. I loved everything in it. It was so delicious. It just wasn't quite what I want out of a calzone and that's FINE! That's on me. If you want to be floored with an incredibly fancy calzone, order it. The ingredients tasted fresh, too! Well-packaged and full of flavor. We'll be back! read more

We ordered a chicken Marsala that comes with mashed potatoes and lots of mushrooms which was nice! We also had a mushroom ravioli which was good but missing some flavor nothing a little crushed pepper and salt can't fix. Had dinner last night, when we arrived, the restaurant was completely empty! When we got our menus, we noticed it had changed and asked the waiter if they could still make a chicken dish that was on the prior menu for my daughter. Everything on the chicken dish is in other dishes on the current menu. He returns from asking the kitchen staff and said since they had just gotten yelled at they can't do anything thats not on the current menu and then asked if he can add pancetta to a meal and he said that there was no substitutions and he couldn't figure out how to add it to anything. I then asked if the scallop appetizer can be put over pasta as I've had that numerous times as a meal in this restaurant and he said I would have better luck going to the other Armando in Orlando as they have more flexibility. My father's iced tea was wrong raspberry instead of regular and when notified no apologies. Lost a repeat customer tonight. spoke to the manager and she's said I should've talked to her earlier and next time they would make it right too bad there won't be a next time. So I have just tried Armando's and it was good but nothing crazy... I tried two dishes and after tax and tip ended up being $40 not to crazy for the area but definitely not worth the high price in my opinion. The first dish I tried was about $13 and it was a margarita pizza. It was quite good fresh out of the oven with a great crispiness to it and amazing taste of the fresh basil and mozzarella on it !!! Worth every penny!!!! Next I had Ravioli Ai Funghi which is a ravioli with mushrooms in it basically and a white wine and onion sauce also some tomatoes. That was about $19 and not worth it at all. It was quite salty and had very big pepper corns which left me thirsty and coughing. Then the worst part of it was that two of the five ravioli had nothing in them, WTF!!! I asked my waitress if they were house made and she said yes and when I said I had some that had no filling she laughed and walked away like nothing was wrong!!! I paid 19 dollars I want the food. Over all the place in gorgeous and new and I would go and give it a try if you like homey Italian places with friendly people just remember your paying lake Nona prices for ok food... read more

So boring. It's Boxed pasta and barely any sauce. It was $100 for 3 people to eat with 2 appitizers that were bland and boring and 3 entree's, no drinks, no dessert. The Veal scalopini was cooked good, but there was no sauce at all, my pasta was so dry. The chicken parmasean was rubber, completely unedible. The mac and cheese was boring. I am not sure how this place thinks they can charge so much for such boring, uninspired food. I am very sad to have eaten their food. read more
