My friend and I decided to go for dinner, the service was efficient and attentive. The ambiance was lively. We got the queso with chorizo and it was incredible, just what we were wanting. She got the birria tacos, they were really tasty! I got the burrito blanco with chicken, I was not loving it. It was very bland and reminded me of a chicken pot pie, kinda weird. Pulled up to a friends dinner, Mariachi's playing their souls out, and got to enjoy a wonderful view. Although it's Florida and it rains everyday, I enjoyed watching the rain and lighting haha. Just moved to Lake Nona, and me and my fiancé are huge fans of Spanish/Mexican cuisine we noticed Azteca D'Oro just up the road from our house. We have eaten here so many times since we moved in, the food here is so delicious and the portions are so great! We love coming in on Friday nights when they have their mariachi band, you can also find them on the weekends as well. Saturday Sunday. We typically sit outside as it is pretty loud inside, when they are there. Otherwise dinning in is a great experience. inside is really nice super laid-back, Spanish Decor. The servers here are super friendly, and always make plenty of recommendations for us when we come in if we want to try something new. They offer happy hour everyday so highly recommend not missing out on that, from 3:30 to 6:30pm. I absolutely loved their skinny margarita and their flavored margaritas like strawberry. They don't skimp on the tequila so get ready for a bunch haha! Our go-to favorites are their burritos, enchiladas, quesadillas and definitely fajitas. In love! What an absolutely BEAUTIFUL place!! It's opening night tonight and pretty busy! When you first walk in you don't realize how big it is, but the first thing that hits you right away is just the incredible decor everywhere you look - including massive striking glass lanterns and walls with designs and lights shining through. The bar is also gorgeous - and wraps around to additional seating on the backside, where the restaurant continues to the right once you're inside. There's also outdoor seating options, FYI! Menus are digital at this time, as many are everywhere. (I added the link to this page!) Now I will say, prices are a bit up there, but it's certainly fancy to go along with it! The well vodka is Deep Eddys and the well Rum is Don Q - for reference. The standard margarita is $10 up to $16 if you get fancy with it! We got the Chicken Quesadillas and the Steak Fajitas. WOW amazing! Everything came out piping hot, in great time even though it's pretty busy, and tasted delicious! Portions were also quite generous too! Overall - will be back! I have only been here for take out so take my review with a grain of salt! I really enjoyed the food!! I got the burrito blanco with chicken and it hit the spot, although it was super big and mainly rice. The chicken was incredibly flavorful and the whole dish was so cheesy. I ate every bite but I might order something different another time. My husband tried the burrito blanco with steak and enjoyed it at the time, but when he tried the chicken he said that it was better that way! We also got an order of chips and queso and just for the queso alone we will be returning! Picking up takeout was easy in the restaurant, but the plaza parking is limited and I had to circle several times before the valet took pity on me and allowed me to park by the curb for a moment. Never did find a spot on a busy Friday night. From what I saw of the restaurant it seemed really nice, and they have a gorgeous back patio that overlooks a small lake so we are excited to return for queso and ambiance and give the menu another whirl! read more

Ordered the queso with the chorizo. Get it with the chorizo when they ask. It's a must. It honestly makes the dip. It's creamy and hits the spot. Honestly wish there was more chorizo in it. Ordered the Milanesa De Pollo. Chicken was solid. Wasn't very flavorful so I dipped it in the beans. Solid dish... wasn't super special but did the job. The way to go is the Cadillac Marg (not pictured). It's so strong. I swear I was halfway done and I was feelin tipsy. Wild right? Either way, that was my favorite thing at the menu. Went here on a recommendation. I was by myself, so sat at the bar. It was a Monday evening (8pm) and the 3 men nearest me were regulars there, which says something. One had the Molcajete and it looked so tasty I almost got it, but I went with the Borrego instead. I chose a side salad instead of rice and beans and they gave me one for the rice and one for the beans, so 2 side salads . Anyway, side salad were very simple iceberg lettuce, diced tomatoes and shredded cheese. However, the lamb shank was tender and tasty. The fresh guacamole was very nice and made in front of you, so you can have it made the way you like it. Atmosphere is nice and they often have live music in the evenings / weekends. I've only been twice so far: the first time we ordered the Coconut Shrimp, Street Corn, and my husband ordered a platter; the appetizers were delicious and the platter was a lot of food. I chose the skinny margarita, which I found to be way too sweet (even when I asked for it to not have a lot of agave/simple syrup). The server was excellent and offered to bring me another, but I settled for some additional limes and made it work. The second time we visited, I gave the skinny margarita another try, with specific instructions and it was great. However, we were with a bunch of family members and unfortunately, everyone was not pleased with their meals. I ordered the beef flautas; the meat had no seasoning and was very dry. My husband ordered a burrito, who he described as very soggy and lacking flavor. Our 93 year old Grandfather (who literally eats everything) was also unfortunately, not pleased with his food. I did share this with our server, just to pass on the feedback. Overall, the appetizers were good, service is good, but the food needs some work. There are many locals that love the convenience of these restaurants outside of the touristy areas. If you don't mind a VERY LOUD restaurant (at least on Friday nights), then you will enjoy this atmosphere. The mariachi band was great as they went table to table for song requests and they sounded amazing. But, it was very loud and catching up with the friends I was with was difficult. The food was OKAY. I had the shrimp fajitas due to it being a Friday night during lent. And let me tell you, it was very hard for me to order a meatless meal at a Mexican restaurant. The fajitas came out smelling delicious and piping hot, but the rices and beans were flavorless and the sauce on the shrimp was kind of weird. Beware the shrimp is served tail on. The veggies were cooked perfectly, but I would not order this dish again. The other people I was with had a taco salad that looked yummy, white enchiladas that both gals finished their entire plate, and fish tacos that were prepared beautifully. The food wasn't flavored the burritos was bland full of yellow rice but not fresh every was with no taste unfortunately not flavorful tiny pieces of meat in that was selected chicken the meat was not seasoned not having cilantro spice little sour cream not cheese . The other plate was selected The meat and shrimp same situation not seasoned unflavored and just five little shrimp . Sides yellow rice refrito temperature of both plates was warm /cold and not fresh . I ordered a lunch special that consisted of the pick two with two sides. I picked a grilled chicken enchilada and a ground beef chimichanga. My sides were Mexican rice and refried beans. When I got to the restaurant to pick it up, I was greeted but the guy didn't know what I was saying. There was a language barrier, but I finally was able to get my food which was sitting on the table to the side. I'm not sure how long it was sitting, but when I opened the food everything was in separate containers. The chimichanga was separate with the cheese sauce not on it, which is fine! The enchilada was prepared but when I picked it up to transfer it to my bowl with my sides, it fell apart! The grilled chicken was hard like it was overcooked. The only thing I can say is the chimichanga, rice and beans saved the whole meal. I probably would go back to sit in. It was nice in there, but taking it out; probably not. read more

We went to the Azteka D'Oro restaurant in Lake Nona, Orlando, FL on 02/22/2025 for lunch around 1:45 PM with my family. Apparently, the dishes were well-served. We left there, and around 6:00 PM, three of us started feeling very unwell. I called the restaurant and spoke with a manager to inform them that the food was contaminated and they should stop serving what we had ordered. The manager didn't care at all. Around 8:00 PM, my daughter passed out, and we had to take her to the hospital to receive IV fluids and medication to help her. She is stable now but very weak, and my other children are still unwell. Although we didn't take them to the hospital, they are completely unfit. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

This place is deceptive with their prices. They offer happy hours every day, but they won't mention it unless you ask. The menu lists some items twice with different prices, and if the lower price is only available at specific times, they won't inform you and will charge the higher price. I ordered a natural juice, and they offered me a lemonade but charged me for a virgin margarita at $6.50. I ordered a Carne Asada Burrito for $25.50, plus 20% tip and taxes, all of that for a burrito? My total was $106 for two people. The food was good but not exceptional. They should be clearer about their pricing and services. Plus the service was not the best. They consider 4 people and a baby large party and include the 20% tip. read more

Finally a location in our neighborhood! It just opened up in Lake Nona last week and based on dinner tonight they've worked any opening week kinks out. Refried beans, tasty! Enchiladas hot and cheesy. Chips and salsa perfect starter on the table. Service was excellent. This location has upscaled the decor quite a bit, modern lighting and tables and chairs with beautiful hand-painted mural and painting throughout the restaurant - so it didn't lose that cultural appeal the other two locations have, but definitely kicked up a notch.
