Raul, is much more than an electronics tech. This guy is an artist & he loves the equipment he works on. He actually cares what it sounds like and how it works when he is done. I took my first at to him on the recommendation from another guitarist. It was a solid state crate amp I had bought from a garage sale with a bad input jack. it had been sitting in a garage for years and looked it when I took it in, when I picked it up It looked brand new and worked like a charm. we talked a bit and Raul was excited as he had just got the the schematic book for older fender amps. My brother in law has a 1965 fender vibro champ that has been kicking around to 30 years. not working, beat up, cat scratched. Raul's real artistry & talent showed when he repaired this amp. he cleaned it up, fixed the many botched repaired that had been tried over the past few decades. when I got this amp home, plugged it in and ran several guitars through it, AMAZING tone. He took a worthless piece of crap and restored it to a hot vintage, sweet sounding amp. I simply could not stop playing through the amp. (I almost don't want to let my brother in law pick it up) Get this! The next day after I picked up the amp (on a Sunday) Raul called me up to double check on how the amp performed and sounded. who does cares about the quality their work like this anymore??? Well Raul does. The price???? My brother in law (who lives in Covina) & I had gotten several quotes from places in San Diego to LA on repairing this amp, ranging from $250 to $800 and with no assurance or guaranty on the workman ship to the age & condition of the amp/ One guy even said, he wanted $400 upfront and wasn't sure he could get the amp working. Raul was excited when I should up with the amp. He got out his fender book & a file with the old schematics, double checked the numbers so he was sure. Asked what was wrong (caked with dirt, & not working). he quoted $95 plus parts (amazing). he called once to double check on some stuff. Next thing I know. the amp is done, for only $126.50 !!!!!!!! and he returned all the replaced parts (wow) He even felt bad he was not able to repair the exterior (remember the cat that used this amp as a scratching post) There is no other guy in California I would take any audio electronics/equipment to. if you have an item you care about - do your self the favor of having Raul of Aztec Electronics work on it!!! After pulling our 1978 Phillips turntable out of the attic, we realized it was only playing one channel and needed repair. I now feel very fortunate to have stumbled onto Rauls shop, Aztec Electronics, online. Rual is the "Real Deal". He is "Old School" knowledgeable on vintage stereo equipment, he is honest, knowledgeable, and has a real passion for his work! Hard to find these days. I would highly recommend him! ! Raul at Aztec Electronics is the only guy I would trust bringing my amps to. He has fixed amps that other techs have said were unrepairable, including a Silvertone 1472 and TWO Silvertone 1484s. He completely rebuilt these amps and have them sounding better than ever. He always exceeds expectations, and goes out of his way to make sure that his repairs are perfect, even installing grounded plugs for safety without being asked. I just had my vintage 1962 Fender Showman Amp head worked on by Raul. It was noisy and needed some minor service...Raul went up and beyond what I expected! He even cleaned the knobs! Great customer satisfaction! Raul did a great job making sure my part was repaired. I brought my Toyota Tacoma compass in to get re-soldered. The first repair didn't work out so he fixed it again and with larger resistors and it's working great now. I wish I had come to Aztec Electronics sooner. read more
