Food was BAD. Besides the starter ceviche that we had, the "camarones à la diabla" that I got was made of Frank Red Hot Sauce. When I told the waiter that it was extremely bitter and didn't taste like camarones à la diabla would, he said it's because the sauce they use. He mentioned if they make the "Mexican style" that it would be too spicy for people. My husband got the half chicken plate with rice and it was bland and whatever sauce it had was also watery. We also got the tacos de alambre and they were ok. Definitely not tacos de alambre. Lighting outside was too dim and the DJ was not outside, like they mentioned on IG. First time here and going up to the restaurant in what was an office building kind of through me off. Place is small on the inside but the best part is the roof top, food and customer service. Waiter was attentive and the food was very tasty. Roof has the best view - sunset is amazing. It's a nice locations good food and music. The service just sucks the host's always has attitude and the servers take forever just to bring one thing out. I remember I asked for hot sauce at the beginning of my food and the server forgot twice after I told him. By the time I received it I was done with my meal. The hostess on Saturday night 8/2 was so rude! We walked in without a reservation which we understood we would need to wait a bit for an outside table. That was not an issue. Went here for early dinner around 5 pm, hardly anyone there. Sat outside for the nice rooftop view, which we later regretted because their very large umbrellas, fell on our tables multiple times and even hit one us in the head. We ordered two main dishes and two appetizers, two drinks. Pros: service was good, a bit slow but everyone was polite and attentive. Appetizers were delicious! Drinks were made well, not too sweet, or sugary, and you could taste the alcohol properly. Plenty of rooftop space, nice views. Cons: sat at the first table outside and an umbrella, literally fell onto our table. We moved tables and unfortunately, two more umbrellas fell and one of them, hit my stepdad in the head. We didn't make a big fuss, but we definitely reported it so it didn't happen to Anyone else. They were very apologetic, but still the fact that it happened multiple times and it shouldn't have. Main dishes I'd say were subpar, will definitely order from the appetizer menu if we go back. Have come here with family, took 30+ minutes to get a round of drinks. At first glance, when I walked into the building, I swear I felt like I was about to go into work for the day because it's literally an office building. Once you're in the elevator to the top floor, then you've reached the rooftop bar restaurant, which is now named "Azotea," but the former name to this place was "Aviation - Rooftop Bar and Kitchen ." The food is amazing, and the millennial hip hop and pop music is perfection. The service is mediocre and the inside of the restaurant itself is tiny (if you have a party of nine or more, then you'll be split into two tables). However, the outside has plenty of room - so, if the weather is nice and sunny, you're good to go! The champagne omelette was delicious, and even more delicious (with the side of $7 crispy bacon that I devoured on my own - don't judge me)! The salads were fresh and yummy. Side note that you cannot add grilled chicken to the "house salad," but you can order a side of the crispy chicken. Also, if you order a waffle, be sure to eat it right away when it's crispy because by the time we got to it, it was super soggy from the whip cream. Food came in a timely manner, and hot. Ambiance: it was clean and comfortable. When the elevator opens to the 3rd floor, it opens directly into the restaurant. I was surprised and loved it. Haven't seen that in a while. Was offered outside seating, but a bit too cold this day. If a bit warmer, would have definitely sat out there. Not a lot to see- but this is downtown Livermore people, not the SF bay skyline. Get over it it's fresh air and nice umbrellas for the sunshine, perfect for dining with your SO, fam or friends. Now, this is not a huge restaurant, so I can see where it can get full quickly, or there may be delays with seating or service- I hope not- but maybe just call first if you're pressed for time. ‍ We happened to go on an overcast Sat afternoon, so there was hardly anyone there. I came her a while back on a double date. To enter the restaurant you do have to enter through a building and go up an elevator where you then enter the restaurant. The inside part was pretty small and crowded so we sat outside in the rooftop section. The food was really good! I got the fish tacos and they were delicious, the drinks were also great, they were sweet but strong which I love. The waitress was super attentive and had great customer service. Since I went on a Saturday they did have a DJ which was cool. The only thing that I really didn't like was that the bathroom, it was really packed inside the restaurant and only had one women's restroom and one men's restroom which did have a line, and the bathroom was dirty. But besides that I do recommend coming here for either or date night, or a night out with the girls! read more

The fact that it's a rooftop is the saving grace for this place because the food is absolutely awful. I have been twice and both times the impossible burger that I ordered literally came out looking like dog food without absolutely any of the fixings that the menu noted. After sending it back, I thought I would give the broccoli Mac and cheese a try (how could you possibly mess up Mac & cheese) but that was equally as disappointing. You couldn't even taste the cheese, the noodles were undercooked and I think they substituted the cheese for water and butter that the noodles came floating in. Absolutely awful food. If you're going to have a meatless burger on your menu, learn how to cook it. The cook should be embarrassed to send out whatever on earth that dog food looking burger was. Absolutely foul. Our server was nice and took down our drinks and appetizers quickly. We were catching up with old friends so we didn't realize we were waiting for about 20 minutes for drinks. Someone dropped off our drinks and they forgot about one of them. While we are all drinking and eating, another 20 or so minutes go by and we were wondering where our server went cause we were ready to order food. We kindly asked where our server was and then told they left so this new guy is our server... this man was the same person to drop off our drinks but not tell us he's our server now? His attitude seemed unprofessional and could care less about being there. We then decided okay well we are all hungry let's order our main plates. We placed the order and 40 minutes go by ( I have time stamps) and were wondering where our food is. At this point we were over the lack of service we've been receiving so 2 of us decided to go up and cancel our order. We cancel our order to another server since we didn't see our server. And it turns out our server was talking to another co-worker at the end of the bar, and goes back to the kitchen then proceeds to hand us our food asking if we wanted it? I mean we honestly don't know how long our food has been ready and just sitting there because that server didn't check until we said something. Very unprofessional and will not be back. My wife & I stopped by Azotea on a Friday evening, we grabbed a drink at the bar which was quite sticky & cluttered while waiting for a table on the patio. About 30-40 mins later, we were sat at a community table only to be asked to move to a high top within 10 mins stating that a large party needed the community table. For the remainder of our time which was about 40 mins, no one was seated there, The staff is disorganized, the patio seating is quite uncomfortable & the food is glorified bar food at best. We had two margaritas each (4 in total), a ceviche appetizer, a chicken salad & fish tacos. Our tab was $150+. It's a unique rooftop location with great views of Livermore, I wasn't impressed when it was Aviation & I won't be revisiting Azotea. I recommend better drinks at The Last Word & food at Hops & Sessions. read more

We were seated and waited over 15 minutes to not even be offered water or anything. Making eye contact with the waitress as she proceeded to serve a table that was seated after us. I received the Avo toast with just avo (no shaved carrots, cucumber, our arugula and cheese) with one fried egg (not 2 of the sunny side up). This was previously aviation cafe. You access the roof top restaurant through the office doors next to Patix's and take the elevator to 3rd floor. The new owners remodeled the inside space and it feels much more inviting and comfortable. They have booths and a full bar. Menu is extensive. Our food was yummy (had the ceviche appetizer and the empanada appetizer) and the drinks are creative (had the coconut Paloma). Service was great too. Wish their water glasses were bigger tho.
