He accepted a relatively small deposit and a week or so later, his crew stripped the old roof, replacing only a few sheets of plywood, added additional vents AND did a great cleanup at the end. But despite the cost, I went with them because their proposal was clearly superior to the other companies'. It was detailed, with a clear explanation of all systems and materials recommended and transparent pricing information. It was also much easier to read and understand than the other bids. Our project was promptly scheduled. We had a desired window of time when we wanted it done and were accommodated. The actual install was about as painless as a major house improvement project can be. The team arrived on site on time, communicated proactively throughout the process, and left the property clean and tidy. The whole project only took 2.5 days. It started on a Monday and on Thursday I went through a comprehensive punch out process with the site manager. Dave was able to come out and provide an estimate within 4 days of my initial call. He listened to my concerns carefully and had immediate solutions to the leaks that I was having, unlike the other roofing companies. He paid close attention to my roof and took the time to explain why the existing shingles were blowing off and why I was having a leak along the back of the roof. He explained how he pays his employees hourly and not by the job so that they do a good job and the materials they use in detail. After talking with Dave, I was very confident and comfortable with his team's knowledge, experience, and capabilities. In addition, the cost for replacing the roof was very reasonable and included a 10-year guarantee on the roof. I chose Ascent Roofing to replace my roof and they were able to come out in 3 weeks and get the job done. It took them about 2 days and it looks great.
