The technician was friendly and they were able to service my panels even though I had them installed by a different company. I needed just a bracket to be serviced and they didn't need to replace it So they do small work even if your panes were made by someone else. read more

A&R just finished installing a 12kW array with emergency battery backup and we couldn't be happier with the way they treated us from through design, price negotiations, contract award, & installation. Everyone was professional in the way they conducted themselves, especially the installation team who were on site for 3 solid days. And major kudos to Tom, the lead electrician on the install team. He had a can-do attitude and like a bull dog, wouldn't let go of a problem he encountered until he solved it. After the appropriate inspections by the State & County, our utility company swapped out the old meter for a new, bi-directional Net Meter, so we can send spare capacity to the grid and get a 1 for 1 energy credit for future use. Though expensive, it's so rewarding when you see your house 100% self-sufficient during the day no partly self-sufficient at night when using some of the stored energy in the battery. read more

A and R installed a solar system with battery backup for my house. It's never worked right. They have been out to service it a few times, but I think they just gave up. Service was extremely slow, though everyone is nice and friendly. Maybe it will eventually work properly, but as we enter storm season, it's looking pretty iffy. The fault may be with the components chosen (Solar Edge), and not with A and R, but that does not help me. I now am afraid I will end up paying for it twice, as I need to find someone else to come in and fix or replace everything. read more

I really enjoyed working with A&R solar, nice people. I had the solar and battery installed (SlolarEdge) and LG Battery installed about 3 years ago. The solar works great except in the times that the grid has failed in the last 3 years the battery never switched over, and now the red Fault light is on. I just wished the installation worked, that battery makes a very expensive paperweight. It is also notable that the Solaredge company support is totally useless, and always refer back to the installer. I called A&R on Monday and left a voice mail, and again on Tuesday, I can imagine after the Bomb Cyclone they are busy, but no call back yet today on Friday, read more

We would highly recommend A and R solar! We used them to remove and replace an existing solar panel system (so that we could get a much needed new roof.) Will, Tony, and team were professional, on time, and charged us exactly what was quoted. They treated us with respect. It was an outstanding experience from beginning to end. Don't hesitate to use them. read more

Short version: If you live in Oregon or Washington and are thinking of going solar, A&R Solar should be your first choice. Long version: Now that my system is up and running, I am happy to report that working with A&R Solar for my system install was a joy from start to finish. Their sales people were happy to answer my countless questions without ever being pushy. Spencer specifically was extremely helpful throughout the process, even taking the time to stop by in-person to take measurements to give us accurate production estimates and ensure we would qualify for state incentives. Their prices are competitive, their warranties are as good or better than every other installer I've researched, and the panels they use are top-of-the-line in terms of efficiency. They are careful not to exaggerate their production estimates, incentivized by their policy of compensating for underproduction. Their system designers are also talented, and were able to put together a system that squeezed in more panels than any other design proposal I received. Installation was done in under a week, and I appreciated that the installers were courteous and fairly flexible with regards to their start time. The only hiccup with the install was related to consumption monitoring, but this was quickly resolved after reporting the issue to the project manager, Tina, who has been very responsive throughout the entire process. Questions or concerns raised with their support team are usually answered by the following business day, and sending a tech out for an issue hasn't ever taken longer than a week. read more

After a fair bit of shopping around, I'm so glad I went with A&R for my home solar! My project managers Megan and Will were knowledgeable, flexible, and gave me lots of updates as the planned install got closer. They were even able to find me a pair of Powerwalls (which are in short supply) only a month or two before my install date! My electrician Tim was friendly, professional, and happy to talk technical details with me. The install went off without a hitch a full week before the original scheduled date, finished up in four days, and passed all inspections the first time. It's been a month, and we've had no electrical problems. read more

Totally impressed with A&R. Here's the summary - great communication, organized, on time, and high quality systems. Before I made a buying decision I got at least half a dozen quotes and researched the hell out of solar. There's a lot more detail than just what panels or how many kWs to buy - design, roofing, racking, and inverter selection are all very important to the system. Even if you don't care to become a solar geek, it's good to know A&R really cares about the details. Process wise it couldn't be easier - have them out for a quote, e-sign a few docs, have the PM out for a quick tour, and let the installers do their thing. Install started on schedule, ended half a day early, no surprises, and passed inspection first time. The guys were super friendly too and took time to show me what they were doing which I enjoyed. As for cost A&R was actually far less than my highest quote and a bit above my low quotes. But they delivered more power with better design and brought more assurance with guarantees no one else matched. By the way my system will pay for itself in less than 8 years and save a quarter million pounds of CO2 over its life. Needless to say solar can be a big win-win. read more

A&R Solar - Spotless install of our 11.68kW array - Solar Installation Near Me - Seattle, Washington

I have a PV system for my residence that was installed by A & R in 2012. It continues to function well with very little loss of electrical production. For prospective customers, I highly recommend that you contact A & R for a proposal. read more

I first worked with A&R Solar a little over 9 years ago when they installed a solar panel system on my roof. The whole process went exceedingly well. They gave me a lot of information by phone initially and then in person when they came out to the house. They took a lot of time to educate me and explain the costs and benefits. The workers were prompt and courteous and showed admirable team spirit--they clearly enjoyed working together and doing their part to help our environment. The estimates they made re: productivity of the system were accurate. Between electricity production and tax incentives, we recouped all of our investment over the first 5 years, as they predicted, so it's been all "gravy" since. I have had a couple relatively minor problems with the system over the years (connector coming loose, inverter being recalled) and they have been very responsive in coming out and setting things right. I have subsequently had them install a Powerwall (storage battery) and that's gone well. I enthusiastically recommend A&R. read more

A&R Solar - Solar Installation Near Me - Seattle, Washington

When I started the bid process for my solar project, A&R Solar kept getting mentioned by the other companies as being best in the Seattle area. I had a great experience working with them to come up with a design for my solar installation, but for reasons specific to my home's needs, I ended up choosing another company. It was a tight race! I strongly recommend considering a bid from A&R Solar. Great service, high quality hardware and competitive pricing. read more

I've been interested in Solar for quite some time but didn't pull the plug on getting a quote for a while. Thankfully this last year I did out of curiosity. I'm glad I did. The team was easy to work with from beginning to end. Before making the decision I received a couple of other quotes, and while A&R frankly wasn't the cheapest, I felt like the would do the best job. And sure enough it looks and operates fantastically, I am very happy with how everything came out. Honestly, I'm not sure why more people don't have solar on their roofs. It's pretty easy to do, pays back in a relatively short amount of time, and there are cheap low interest loans available for financing. read more

From the first day when the Solar specialist talked to us about a customized Solar setup for our house, A&R Solar has been super professional and helpful in everything. We had our panels installed 3+ years ago and are very satisfied with their service. Their customer service has been top notch every step of the way, they are prompt and responsive whenever you need their support. In fact, we had a small roof issue that came up recently, and they were extremely professional and courteous in how they handled the situation and fixed it for us immediately. I would recommend converting to Solar power to anyone looking for long term savings and caring for our planet, and specifically go with A&R Solar for your installation/service needs. They are really awesome and have surpassed all my expectations! read more

I am a widow just figuring out how to manage the house maintenance on my own. The Egauge had gone offline and I didn't even know what one was. Ron was able to troubleshoot via email, no man-splaining, just simple instructions that got us back online. A day later I got a follow-up email letting me know he had reviewed the data and everything looked like it was working well. They also had a referral ready for cleaning the panels if necessary. I'm so glad there was a sticker on the equipment reminding me who to contact for help!!! read more

As of today, my solar system is now up and running! We worked with A&R Solar to add a 16.8kW iTek system to my roof, and had a great experience. In their proposal, they guaranteed that the system would cover at least 57% of our home energy usage, but the A&R electrician who installed the panels and showed us how to use the eGauge monitoring system estimated it would probably be over 100%. According to our initial readings from eGauge after the system started up around 12:30 PM today, our energy needs are more than covered by the solar panel output. The eGauge system also allows us to track exactly how much energy is being used by the various circuits throughout the house. Some of the other fun solar incentives: a Federal Income Tax Credit which will refund 30% of the full system price, the MACRS business depreciation tax rebate, and the annual incentives up to $5k per year which will be paid to us by PSE for all of the energy the system produces, including the energy we use. Nice. If you own property in the PNW and are interested in solar, I can't recommend A&R Solar enough. And if you use my name (Chelsea Rustad) as a referral, you get $500 off the cost of the system. Surprisingly enough, solar does work in WA -- very well. I had a fantastic experience with A&R Solar throughout the process and am happy to endorse! read more

A&R Solar installed a 5.9 kW grid-tied rooftop solar array for me in early 2017 using Itek panels and Bluefrog microinverters. I had quotes from 4 installers and A&R was able to do it for a lower price than the others while also having the best production guarantee. It turns out that I needed that guarantee because for some unknown reason my system produces about 15% less annual energy than A&R's guaranteed amount. I am happy to report that A&R is honouring their production guarantee--they have paid out for both years' underproduction so far. Since their guarantee lasts for 10 years, I expect my investment to still pay off in the end. read more

Great team here. From Micheal walking us through the system we need to meet our needs to the install team that cleaned up everything as they left (which if you have people work on your house regularly you know is rather rare). I will use them again on my next home here in Bend and will continue to recommend them to all my friends. read more

A&R provided a fantastic customer service experience from beginning to post-installation. They provided quick responses for our initial requests, assisted and explained every facet of the install, loan application, and dealing with SCL. A and R Solar have been life changing for the better. I had 30 panels installed in 2016. They were knowledgeable and gave me options of being able to purchase panels that were made in the U.S.A. and local. My power bill is around 9$ a month for 9 months out of the year. I did not need space for batteries I have a power reader that measures what I produce and goes into something like a savings account for power. I have had only one glitch in the 4 active years. I am not a Mensa member but it was with the computer brain that runs the program. The Guys were out with in a week and ordered the part to replace at no charge to me. It was wonderful to hire hard-working, honest and reputable people that could explain solar power broken down so all of my questions were answered. I love knowing my carbon footprint is helping with global warming. Thanks again..great job! read more

Promptly responded to request for solar panel installation. Then, they followed up with phone call to explain why solar is not going to work well for our house. I was really impressed by their same-day analysis and clear "next steps" questionnaire. Unfortunately, we won't be getting panels, but I appreciate their initial effort. read more

If I could give A&R a 10 star Yelp rating, I would! My review is long overdue as we have had our system two years. First let me state that solar in Washington is the best kept secret around. Solar DOES work in Western Washington, and with the various state, federal and utility company incentives available, it is a 'no brainer' in my book. Frankly, I don't understand why every roof does not have a system installed. That said, when you do make the decision to go solar, look no farther than A&R. Damien Durand first performed an assessment of the home and reviewed viable options for the system. I won't refer to Damien as a sales person as he did not push us to make a particular decision. In fact, we had spoken with three other solar installation companies, and went with A&R not based on price, but Damien's professionalism. We chose a SunPower system, and when install day arrived, Andy Yatteau and his crew were top notch living by Mike Holmes motto 'Make It Right'. I'd worked in building trades years ago, and I am very particular about the work performed within my home. I had absolutely no reservations about the quality of the workmanship performed. When I did have a couple special requests during the installation, Andy was very accommodating and made it happen! If you haven't guessed by now, I'm a huge fan, and I'll spread the word to whoever is willing to listen. I've even taken my 16oz A&R beer glasses to our area brew houses and filled them up with a favorite IPA. Cheers to A&R! read more

I can't say enough good things about A&R! From the first questions around options to the prompt and detailed proposal from Damien to the pre-install meeting and the actual installation, they were so professional and just phenomenal to work with. Joel, Andy, Chase, Ron, Peter, and Kristin - I'm probably forgetting a few names here - they were all fantastic too. We also loved too that they're clearly in the business for the right reasons (it's always great working with Certified B Corps) - we need more folks (and PV panels) out there like them. We're slightly OCD too, and they were really great about accommodating requests around inverter placement and how the wires were run from the roof. In short, they were honest and accurate every step of the way, and made the process of getting solar a breeze - and I can't tell you how nice it is to see the panels generating clean energy every day (even the cloudy ones!). read more

I can't think of anything A&R could have done better unless they were giving the system away. :) We got a bid from another company that couldn't get the math right and took a long time responding, so then we moved on to a friend's referral for A&R and they were definitely the kind of company we like to work with. From the very start, they are extremely responsive (even on email, which is helpful for our busy lives) and knowledgable, and they've built some great written material to walk you through the process. All our questions were answered and we decided to take the plunge. Through the planning process, they were right there and took care of all the paperwork, which was great. Even amidst a very packed install schedule, they showed up on exactly the date they predicted and got to work. Through the next couple of days, they showed themselves to be the utmost of professionals. They clearly care about their work and did an amazing, beautiful job with the install. They took care of every one of our requests and the system turned out amazing. Now we just need a meter whenever PSE gets around to it, and we'll have Gone Solar! We have had many many contractors and subs on our house through multiple remodels. I cannot think of another company in the industry that comes anywhere close to the level of professionalism that every one of A&R's people have displayed; it's truly impressive. Thanks, A&R... look for my referrals whenever anyone asks about our system! read more

What a fantastic experience! They came in, did their estimate, installed the panels in two days, walked me through the whole process and I couldn't be happier. Extremely professional, left the area even cleaner than they found it and I am saving hundreds of dollars every month, even after taking in consideration the cost of the panels!! They even provided all of the necessary information to get my tax refunds! Highly recommend them. I am going to have them install solar panels in my rental house as well! read more

I'm building a new home in Bellevue and was interested in adding solar to our project. The end-to-end process of working with A&R Solar was a breeze. It started with Damien, who is a knowledgeable, no-pressure consultant who provided the information we needed and then let us make our decision on our own time. A&R was upfront about the install dates, and after signing the papers we were kept in the loop the entire way, so there were no surprises. Questions over e-mail were answered promptly, and everybody we worked with was, without exception, friendly, helpful, and interested in our satisfaction. When there was a brief delay on our install date, we were promptly informed and did not feel let down. After the panels were installed, our project manager, who had been in an accident, did not get our paperwork to SnoPud submitted immediately, and he was upfront about it, apologized, and credited our account with the credits we had missed with the utility. Awesome customer service! read more

From the initial consultation visit all the way to the installation, every step of the way was smooth! Kyle laid out the plan really well for us and once the installation crew arrived a few months later, the project was complete in only a few days. We couldn't be happier. A&R deserves the highest praise. Everyone I dealt with was thorough, knowledgeable and patient (special thanks to Damien!). After a few conversations with their sales team, I really felt like an expert on solar incentives and technology--which feels very empowering in the face of a large financial investment. Their whole team was respectful and answered all of the questions my kids and I could come up with about solar. I can't say the same about some of the other contractors we worked with at the time. We couldn't have been more happy with the overall process of going solar with A & R Solar. Damien was as straight forward and upfront about the costs and benefits of getting panels. He initially said we may want to wait to see what our sun exposure would be once we removed a diseased tree that was creating some shade. Once we removed it, it was a no-brainer. Everyone involved has been great and very prompt getting back to us with questions. Our neighbor went with one of the most well known companies (whom I won't name). I had to teach him the in's and out's of his system. The company never walked him through anything. Not to mention their referral incentive is less than half of what A & R pays. read more

We are excited to finally get solar and can't be happier to have gone with a company whose employees are passionate about their work. The process was seamless for our busy schedules with clear and timely communications via email, video meetings and electronic signing including referrals for loans. They also set clear expectations for what's next in the process including interactions with loan companies and inspections. Each person we worked with were knowledgeable of their areas and thoughtful to ensure their work was the best for us, e.g. where to run network cable and conduits so they're least obtrusive.
