The technician was friendly and they were able to service my panels even though I had them installed by a different company. I needed just a bracket to be serviced and they didn't need to replace it So they do small work even if your panes were made by someone else. read more

A and R installed a solar system with battery backup for my house. It's never worked right. They have been out to service it a few times, but I think they just gave up. Service was extremely slow, though everyone is nice and friendly. Maybe it will eventually work properly, but as we enter storm season, it's looking pretty iffy. The fault may be with the components chosen (Solar Edge), and not with A and R, but that does not help me. I now am afraid I will end up paying for it twice, as I need to find someone else to come in and fix or replace everything. read more

A&R just finished installing a 12kW array with emergency battery backup and we couldn't be happier with the way they treated us from through design, price negotiations, contract award, & installation. Everyone was professional in the way they conducted themselves, especially the installation team who were on site for 3 solid days. And major kudos to Tom, the lead electrician on the install team. He had a can-do attitude and like a bull dog, wouldn't let go of a problem he encountered until he solved it. After the appropriate inspections by the State & County, our utility company swapped out the old meter for a new, bi-directional Net Meter, so we can send spare capacity to the grid and get a 1 for 1 energy credit for future use. I really enjoyed working with A&R solar, nice people. I had the solar and battery installed (SlolarEdge) and LG Battery installed about 3 years ago. The solar works great except in the times that the grid has failed in the last 3 years the battery never switched over, and now the red Fault light is on. I just wished the installation worked, that battery makes a very expensive paperweight. Long version: Now that my system is up and running, I am happy to report that working with A&R Solar for my system install was a joy from start to finish. Their sales people were happy to answer my countless questions without ever being pushy. Spencer specifically was extremely helpful throughout the process, even taking the time to stop by in-person to take measurements to give us accurate production estimates and ensure we would qualify for state incentives. Their prices are competitive, their warranties are as good or better than every other installer I've researched, and the panels they use are top-of-the-line in terms of efficiency. They are careful not to exaggerate their production estimates, incentivized by their policy of compensating for underproduction. Their system designers are also talented, and were able to put together a system that squeezed in more panels than any other design proposal I received. Installation was done in under a week, and I appreciated that the installers were courteous and fairly flexible with regards to their start time. The only hiccup with the install was related to consumption monitoring, but this was quickly resolved after reporting the issue to the project manager, Tina, who has been very responsive throughout the entire process. Totally impressed with A&R. Here's the summary - great communication, organized, on time, and high quality systems. Before I made a buying decision I got at least half a dozen quotes and researched the hell out of solar. There's a lot more detail than just what panels or how many kWs to buy - design, roofing, racking, and inverter selection are all very important to the system. Even if you don't care to become a solar geek, it's good to know A&R really cares about the details. Process wise it couldn't be easier - have them out for a quote, e-sign a few docs, have the PM out for a quick tour, and let the installers do their thing. Install started on schedule, ended half a day early, no surprises, and passed inspection first time. The guys were super friendly too and took time to show me what they were doing which I enjoyed. As for cost A&R was actually far less than my highest quote and a bit above my low quotes. But they delivered more power with better design and brought more assurance with guarantees no one else matched. As of today, my solar system is now up and running! We worked with A&R Solar to add a 16.8kW iTek system to my roof, and had a great experience. In their proposal, they guaranteed that the system would cover at least 57% of our home energy usage, but the A&R electrician who installed the panels and showed us how to use the eGauge monitoring system estimated it would probably be over 100%. According to our initial readings from eGauge after the system started up around 12:30 PM today, our energy needs are more than covered by the solar panel output. The eGauge system also allows us to track exactly how much energy is being used by the various circuits throughout the house. Some of the other fun solar incentives: a Federal Income Tax Credit which will refund 30% of the full system price, the MACRS business depreciation tax rebate, and the annual incentives up to $5k per year which will be paid to us by PSE for all of the energy the system produces, including the energy we use. Nice. If you own property in the PNW and are interested in solar, I can't recommend A&R Solar enough. And if you use my name (Chelsea Rustad) as a referral, you get $500 off the cost of the system. A&R Solar installed a 5.9 kW grid-tied rooftop solar array for me in early 2017 using Itek panels and Bluefrog microinverters. I had quotes from 4 installers and A&R was able to do it for a lower price than the others while also having the best production guarantee. It turns out that I needed that guarantee because for some unknown reason my system produces about 15% less annual energy than A&R's guaranteed amount. I am happy to report that A&R is honouring their production guarantee--they have paid out for both years' underproduction so far. Since their guarantee lasts for 10 years, I expect my investment to still pay off in the end. read more

A and R Solar have been life changing for the better. I had 30 panels installed in 2016. They were knowledgeable and gave me options of being able to purchase panels that were made in the U.S.A. and local. My power bill is around 9$ a month for 9 months out of the year. I did not need space for batteries I have a power reader that measures what I produce and goes into something like a savings account for power. I have had only one glitch in the 4 active years. I am not a Mensa member but it was with the computer brain that runs the program. The Guys were out with in a week and ordered the part to replace at no charge to me. It was wonderful to hire hard-working, honest and reputable people that could explain solar power broken down so all of my questions were answered. If I could give A&R a 10 star Yelp rating, I would! My review is long overdue as we have had our system two years. First let me state that solar in Washington is the best kept secret around. Solar DOES work in Western Washington, and with the various state, federal and utility company incentives available, it is a 'no brainer' in my book. Frankly, I don't understand why every roof does not have a system installed. That said, when you do make the decision to go solar, look no farther than A&R. Damien Durand first performed an assessment of the home and reviewed viable options for the system. I won't refer to Damien as a sales person as he did not push us to make a particular decision. In fact, we had spoken with three other solar installation companies, and went with A&R not based on price, but Damien's professionalism. We chose a SunPower system, and when install day arrived, Andy Yatteau and his crew were top notch living by Mike Holmes motto 'Make It Right'. I'd worked in building trades years ago, and I am very particular about the work performed within my home. I had absolutely no reservations about the quality of the workmanship performed. When I did have a couple special requests during the installation, Andy was very accommodating and made it happen! If you haven't guessed by now, I'm a huge fan, and I'll spread the word to whoever is willing to listen. I can't think of anything A&R could have done better unless they were giving the system away. :) We got a bid from another company that couldn't get the math right and took a long time responding, so then we moved on to a friend's referral for A&R and they were definitely the kind of company we like to work with. From the very start, they are extremely responsive (even on email, which is helpful for our busy lives) and knowledgable, and they've built some great written material to walk you through the process. All our questions were answered and we decided to take the plunge. Through the planning process, they were right there and took care of all the paperwork, which was great. Even amidst a very packed install schedule, they showed up on exactly the date they predicted and got to work.
