The installers worked well, cleaned up after themselves, had to come out 2 more times than they initially stated. Install was relatively smooth. We were told by the installation manager, Dickson, that the city would replace our existing meter for a two way meter within maximum 3 months. This seems mostly the fault of Seattle City Light, with whom it seems nearly impossible to communicate. Without the two way meter, I'm still paying for electricity even though I have a functioning solar panel system on my roof - 8 months after the installation was complete. NW Wind & Solar gets a 1 star review because they haven't returned phone calls or email since the install was complete and are doing a terrible job advocating for their customer (me) with Seattle City Light. The receptionist I spoke with said they had re-organized but still no response from them. The previous reviews on Yelp were initially reassuring but something has changed at this company and I cannot recommend them at all. read more

They were an amazing company to start. They were bought by Ozz electric and now you should stay away from them. They don't honor warranties or contracts. They also don't respond to any requests. read more

NW Wind and solar did a great job with my solar install. Panels were quickly and thoughtfully arranged to maximize solar generation. Process was effortless. Would highly recommend this company. Nice to know that they're a sister company of SME so all the electrical work to the panel was top notch. read more

First, this company is fantastic. From start to finish they were on the spot and highly professional. I highly recommend them. The longer version -- I had wanted to have solar for over a decade, but kept putting things off. After I contacted NW Wind and Solar they were excellent at explaining the process, talking me through any concerns I had and how the whole process goes down. They were easy to contact, easy to work with, they have multiple people who are highly knowledgeable about every aspect of the installation and stayed in touch with me after the installation to help me with getting set up with Seattle City Light. (As an aside, Seattle City Light is not easy to work with, but NW Wind and Solar did the majority of the leg work with them as well). Bottom line -- the money I spent for a solar system is the best money I have ever spent and I am really proud to be carbon free in terms of all of our electricity usage, heating and cooling. It was a hefty up front cost, but my bi-monthly electricity bill is now zero (ok, its $10 since Seattle City Light has a "service fee" they charge if you have a bill of zero) and I am going to get a large tax credit. Based on the first 6 months of costs, I will break even in 7 years and then after that it's all money in the bank. I love this company, I love my solar system and I hope you will hire this great group of people. read more

We had a full solar array installed on our flat roof home in NE Seattle. Paige Heggie was very helpful in answering all our questions, and the project was installed as we understood and agreed. Some challenges were presented to the installation crew relating to our circuit panel and a couple of other issues, and the company dealt with all changes without any additional charges to us, despite some increases in the company's cost for the project. We would not hesitate to recommend Paige and the company for a solar installation. read more

We've had solar panels installed on 3 houses in the last 6 years and used NWWS for every install. We've been very happy with their responsiveness to questions, quality of the install, and perseverance in dealing with the city utility to get everything set up for us. For two of the installations there were unusual features that required them to know what they were doing (panels on garage roof of one house rather than house roof, and adding electrical service to a nearby shed at the same time as another install). All of these were very high quality. read more

NW Wind & Solar is Awesome!! From the very first quote through to the installation the team has been great! Perfect communication at every step. Paige was willing to come out to the house as many times as necessary to do reviews and gather information prior to installation. Dickson was a great project manager and the installers were great. The installers worked extremely diligently to get the job accomplished and communicated at the start of the day and at the end of each day. We could not be happier with our panels and NW Wind and Solar is still following up to ensure everything is working which is great! You won't be disappointed. read more

These guys are total pros! Take them at their word. I had then install a solar panel system for me. It was SO worth it! From the initial consultation with Terry Gilliland, their project lead to working with their installers, it's been a cake walk for me all the way with these guys. If your in the market for a solar panel system do yourself a favor and call these guys first! read more

These guys are absolutely amazing! From beginning to end, every person we interacted with was friendly and knowledgeable. They worked with us on scheduling and even worked around our deck getting rebuilt at the same time as the solar panel installation. They completed the project quickly and on time, and even came back out to the house at a time convenient for my husband and I to explain the system and how it works. These guys get my highest recommendation! If you want to go solar, do yourself a favor and use this company. read more

Highly recommend NW Wind & Solar! They installed a 6.96 KW itek 24 panel system on our modern home in the Bryant neighborhood of Seattle. We received 4 quotes and solar system recommendations from Seattle area solar companies. NW Wind & Solar came in with the lowest bid with the same exact solar panels, hardware and inverter. Their sales person Max was on-time for several appointments, prompt with follow-up emails and phone calls. Dickson the project planner listened about how important the fit and finish work was to us. He delivered a well planned out solar system and reviewed the layout with us. Jim the project foreman and his team took their time installing the system. The entire team always took the time to discuss concerns we had during the installation and make changes if needed. We have a 4 year old modern home with a white TPO roof that required 48 stand-offs and TPO boots to cover. The roofing company who manufactured the TPO boots made half of them the wrong size. Jim quickly pointed it out its better to have them re-made to do the job right! This a caused a delay for a few days to get them remained to finish the job correctly. Overall, we are very appreciative we had the opportunity to have a local solar company install our solar system and we saved money compared to the other solar companies. read more

NW Wind & Solar - Solar Installation Near Me - Seattle, Washington

I just can't say enough about the folks from NW Wind and Solar. Their bid was the best, and I must say their references speak for themselves, since they include some of the work on the all-green Bullitt building at 16th and E. Madison St. Dickson was my project manager and two of the actual workmen from SME electrical contractors were Josh and Jose. Everyone was just so friendly and informative. My project is on top of a 1650 sq ft townhouse and took 13 solar panels. As another reviewer noted, this is a super time to be purchasing solar because of the federal and local financial incentives, which will start decreasing after 2015 if the original 30% federal rebate isn't extended. The installation was completed yesterday afternoon and I must say it was a somewhat euphoric feeling to sit in my townhouse at 7:30 pm with the sun still out and to know that my townhouse roof was working for ME! (Not to mention trying to do one's tiny bit for the planet.) I don't know how it can get better than NW Wind and Solar. read more

Exceeded expectations! One of the best choices we ever made was to get solar......with NW Wind & Solar. The whole process was a joy. The process was quick, everyone friendly, the work impeccable, and our whole yard clean when finished. The staff helped us understand all aspects, the solar panels, working with the utilities, how the government rebates worked...and connected us to a great lender. When we had a little leak several years later, they arrived within a day to fix it. They are the Nordstroms+ of Solar. Say YES to NW Wind & Solar. Good for you, good for the earth. A pleasure to work with. read more

Finally in July 2012 we were able to afford solar panels, we could put our money where our mouths have been for so long! We chose to go with NWWindandsolar and were pleased and impressed with the professional handling of our needs and seeing us through start to finish. The workmen installing the panels were respectful and professional. NW Wind & Solar helped us with all the paperwork for TAX rebate as well as with Seattle City Light for our yearly rebates. Whenever I had a question or concern my phone-calls/e-mails were quickly answered. We love the computer software that allows us to monitor how much power is generated on a daily basis. We're thrilled! read more

It's been a couple of months and we are still in awe of our solar panel system. We couldn't be more happy with the installation and the crew that supported the work. From our consultation through install, the team was professional and great to work with. They even saved us time in working with our HOA and obtaining all the necessary paperwork and action items. It's now summer, and we are excited to take advantage of it. We highly recommend NW Wind & Solar. read more

NW Wind & Solar did an excellent job installing our system. Devin walked us through the initial process and provided very detailed answers to all of my questions which was one of the deciding factors in choosing them for the job. We had concerns about installing over tile roof but everything was done without any problems. Dickson and the rest of the install crew did great work and our array is up and running just in time for summer. I'm recommending them to everyone I know. read more

NW Wind and Solar installed solar panels on our roof in Nov 2011. They were very patient in helping us think through the options. They did a great job on the installation. They set us up well with Seattle City Light for rebates. Their projections of the power our system would generate have been spot on. read more

It's hard to decide what I am most impressed with NW Wind and Solar's installation.....the clear outline of what they would do, all the background work they did with certifications and permissions, the updates they gave me along the way, the fast responses to my questions, the yearly production incentives and federal tax credits, or the fact that nearly all of the electricity my family will use in a year will be met by solar power! read more

NW Wind & Solar did a great job with our solar panel roof installation. From the initial explanation through the installation they were all very helpful and took the time to explain every detail. They also worked well with Snohomish County PUD. read more

NW Wind & Solar is one of the most professional companies we've dealt with in the 9+ years we've lived in Washington. Paul and Dickson were extremely helpful with our initial concerns and when we finally made the decision to buy the system the installer Jim did the best electrical job I've ever seen. Even the electrical inspector for the state complimented him on it. The follow-up with Paul to explain the system was perfect and we couldn't be happier. If your thinking about getting solar, make sure you get these guys out for a free quote. You'll be happy you did. We sure are! read more
