Both meals were delightful - not just because of the wonderful food - but also the friendly and attentive staff. The restaurant welcomes those guests with furry family members on the patio. We especially loved the salads, the cucumber salad and the endive salads were unique and delicious. We also enjoyed the halibut dish. For brunch, my wife had the broccoli and cheese tort which had an outstanding crust. I had the pancakes which were wonderful. We will definitely return to the Melisse!

They have a modest fusion menu that varies from Mediterranean cuisine to seafood and tartare. The decoration of the restaurant is very cute and cozy, it has bigger tables for gatherings and also high bar chairs if you want to bring your laptop and work there. The service is rather slow though and might not be efficient during a work- day lunchtime. We ordered "Hummus with Pita", Chicken Skewers with Tzatziki", "Fattoush Salad" and "Seasoned Fish". Hummus and salad were really good. Chicken skewers tasted okay, but fish wasn't seasoned enough and was smelly. The portions are rather small compared to their price. I would definitely love to try their weekend brunch.

The service is very friendly and they take the time to explain the dishes as you get them and are very attentive. Lots of seating too so this place is absolutely ideal for big groups who wanna share food. india rosa in griffintown has a stylish, modern feel that immediately stands out. we had a table…read morefor four, and the dining room was open, airy, and filled with natural light from the large windows. the wood floors, teal banquette seating, greenery, warm pendant lights, and exposed ceiling details give the space a polished but relaxed look. it has a bit of an earls like atmosphere, but with a more tropical, eclectic touch. the restaurant was slightly breezy while we were there, and there was even a little house sparrow flying around inside, which was unexpected but oddly charming. the menu looked promising, with a mix of indian inspired dishes and brunch favourites. i ordered the veggie brunch, which was beautifully plated but, unfortunately, the food itself was only okay. the dish came with a warm root vegetable salad glazed with honey and masala spices, with red beets, carrots, cauliflower, turnips, and onions, along with poached eggs, saffron and lime yogurt, and coriander sprouts. there were plenty of interesting flavours and ingredients on the plate, but overall, it didn't quite live up to the presentation. visually, it was much more impressive than it was memorable. the mango lassi was another interesting detail. it came in a tiki style glass with a short straw and a single pineapple stalk as garnish, a fun presentation, although a little unexpected for a lassi. overall, india rosa is a beautiful space with a lively, inviting atmosphere and a menu that looks more exciting than what i ended up experiencing on the plate. the setting definitely made a stronger impression on me than the food.

I really wanted to give India Rosa a 5-star review. At one point, we were probably closer to 3…read morestars, but I wanted to be fair because the food itself was very good and there were definitely some positives. We were greeted by a friendly hostess who promptly seated us. Unfortunately, we waited about 10 minutes before our waitress came over to take our drink order. Once the drinks arrived, we ordered several items. * Lamb Chops - Excellent flavor and definitely one of the highlights. They took a little while to arrive and could have been warmer, but we really enjoyed them. * Vegetable Pakoras - Excellent. My wife really enjoyed these. * Dal - My wife thought it was just okay because it lacked some flavor. She brought it home, added some salt, chili, and lime, and it turned out much better. * Chicken Tikka Tandoori - Our daughter is a very picky eater, so getting her to eat chicken can sometimes be a challenge. She absolutely loved this, which says a lot! * Garlic Naan and Plain Naan - Both were very good. Once we were ready to order, the process was quick and easy. Unfortunately, that's also when the service started to go downhill. Most of our food arrived, but the garlic naan didn't come until about 10 minutes later. The butter chicken was excellent, but while we waited for the naan, it started getting cold. By the time our waitress came back, I had to ask her to warm up the butter chicken. This was probably my biggest disappointment. Rather than acknowledging the delay or offering to replace the dish, they simply took the same butter chicken back to the kitchen and reheated it. For a restaurant at this price point, I would have expected a little more attention to the situation. My wife also requested a few specific side items that didn't arrive, and she had to ask twice before receiving them. At the end of the meal, just as we were getting ready to leave, they remembered that we had indicated it was our anniversary and brought us a dessert. Gulab jamun isn't really my favorite because it's very sweet, but I genuinely appreciated the gesture. That thoughtful touch helped earn back an extra star in my mind. Overall, the food was very good and everyone in our family found something they enjoyed. Pricing is definitely on the higher end, but I'm okay paying more when the food and overall experience justify it. The biggest opportunity is the service and attention to detail. A simple acknowledgment of the delays and mistakes from our waitress--or even a quick visit from a manager--would have gone a long way. I probably would have gladly given India Rosa 5 stars. I'm not trying to be overly critical because we did enjoy our meal. It's just that sometimes the small things are what separate a good dining experience from a great one.

Our Order: (1) Traditional Masala Chai - perfect on a cold rainy day, excellent aromatic notes. (2) Grilled Cheese Paneer Tikka - the sandwich comes with a slaw inside and on the side, the slaw is dressed, so the entire grilled cheese was soggy. So soggy that it fell apart as soon as you lift it. Even the banana chips on top were soggy. Either order without the inside slaw, or get another dish. The pieces of Paneer Tikka that we could taste was okay. Not much flavor. (3) Rosa's French Toast - The spiced panko breadcrumb french toast had me very intrigued! The texture was great with the crisp and softness of the french toast, but there was absolutely no flavor in the breadcrumbs which was a let down. Cocktail Menu - HUGE! so many unique South Asian inspired cocktails that we didn't know how to pick. Overall, we were disappointed since the modern fusion flavor didn't match the food.
