Overall we would rate this place a 3.75. My friend and I wanted to try an Indian spot while visiting Montreal to see how it compares back to home and this place didn't disappoint! We thought it was overall a cute little restaurant in terms of ambiance. But they could do better job with tying in paintings and decor to boho chic look. The cage seating is what made the ambiance unique. For drinks we ordered the mona rosa and the bohemia which were both good but I personally liked bohemia more as it was more fruity and had a good level of sweetness. For our meal we ordered paneer tikka from tapas section and this is a must get! The paneer was flavorful with a creamy green chutney. We tried to order another plate of it but unfortunately kitchen had already closed. We also order the poulet korma which was pretty good but a little bit on sweeter side for us. It could definitely use a spice kick to it but it was still decent. The garlic naan was soft, buttery, and fluffy! We loved the concept of tapas style for Indian food so if we ever go back to visit we would definitely give it a try again and get different things. The service was decent in our experience as we ended up going there closer to closing time.

I visited India Rosa with a friend for brunch, and as a self-proclaimed eggs Benedict snob, I think I've found my new favorite way to eat it. The cozy atmosphere and unique take on brunch classics had me excited from the start, and the dishes we tried were nothing short of delicious. Video review coming soon to TikTok @Foxy.appetite and Instagram @Foxyappetite In depth review The Menu: India Rosa brings an exciting fusion of Indian flavors into traditional brunch dishes. Each plate is beautifully crafted, with bold spices and creative combinations that make you think differently about brunch. Our Picks: * Bene Butter Chicken: As an eggs Benedict enthusiast, I was blown away by this dish. The rich butter chicken was served on soft brioche bread, and the addition of cashew nuts, fried onions, Brussels sprouts, green peas, and sorrel sprouts created an incredible mix of textures and flavors. I honestly think I've found a new way to enjoy eggs Benedict--this twist had me hooked! * Chicken and Waffles: The masala waffles were light and full of flavor, paired with fried tandoori chicken that was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The cari and lime sour sauce added a tangy kick, while the spiced honey and cashews brought the perfect balance of sweet and savory. It was a dish that kept surprising me with each bite. * Rosa's French Toast: Coated in panko crumbs and five Indian spices, this French toast had a crispy, spiced exterior that made it stand out from the usual. Topped with fresh fruit, maple caramel, lime yogurt, and maple syrup, it was a decadent, yet light treat. The flavors melded together perfectly, making it a must-try. Service: The service was friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. Our server was more than happy to help us navigate the menu, and the food came out at a perfect pace. The staff made us feel right at home, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Pricing: While India Rosa is a bit on the pricier side for brunch, the creativity behind the dishes and the quality of the ingredients make it worth every penny. We spent about $50 per person for three dishes and drinks, and considering the generous portions and unique flavors, it's definitely a splurge worth taking. Final Thoughts: India Rosa offers a brunch experience that's truly one-of-a-kind in Montreal. The combination of Indian spices with classic brunch dishes is bold and inventive. Whether you're an eggs Benedict aficionado or just looking to try something new, this place is a must-visit. Pros: * Innovative takes on brunch classics with bold, flavorful spices * Cozy, inviting atmosphere * Friendly and attentive service Cons: * Slightly on the pricier side, but the quality makes it worthwhile If you're looking for a fresh and exciting brunch experience, India Rosa will definitely satisfy your cravings. I'll be coming back for more, especially that Bene Butter Chicken--it's a game changer!

We had a fantastic experience at India Rosa. The food was absolutely delicious--fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The staff was warm, and made us feel truly welcome. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxed meal. We especially loved Paneer Tikka, Dal makhani,Paneer PepperMasala, Chai Tiramisu, Gulab Jamun & many more. I'll definitely be coming back and recommending this place to friends. Keep up the great work.

Cute little Indian restaurant with a modern flare. Review only pertains to brunch experience. Food was good. Service was okay. Have been here a few times, but this time left a little to be desired. We had a reservation for 10 AM for brunch, right when they opened. We arrived on time. The restaurant was not full, there were many open tables. The hostess brought us to a table in the back by the washroom. I asked if the table with the large comfy chairs or by the window was possible. She told us only if we ate within 1 hour. She kept reiterating that for brunch we could only be there for 1.5 hours, and at those two tables, only 1 hour. These tables remained empty the entire time we were there. We reluctantly took the table in the back by the washroom without this time limitation. For the whole time we were there, they kept jamming everyone in the back by the washroom while they kept the front of the restaurant essentially empty. They literally prioritized restaurant patrons that weren't even there yet over people actually presently in the restaurant. This left a bad taste in my mouth honestly. Our table was unstable, it kept rocking back and forth, so we asked if the waitress if it could be stabilized. She came over and handed me the pieces to stabilize it ourselves. When we hesitated for a moment, she eventually tried to stabilize the table without success. We did it ourselves in the end. Food and beverages came in a timely manner. Cappuccinos were good. Mango lassi is very delicious, but a little pricy at $10. Brunch options were very different and unique. We had the salmon tartine and bene agneau. Very big portions, beautifully plated. If they improved the service and prioritized the guests present in the restaurant who made reservations over people who aren't even there, the experience would be much improved.

Had the pleasure of dining here, the service was great, the food was ohhhh so delicious, the decor and ambiance was warm and inviting. I can't believe it took this long for us to come here knowing my bf knows the owners. It was absolutely Devine, the best Dahl I've ever had . The menu is clearly marked for GF however it's a shared fryer so cross contamination is an issue. It's unfortunate as the samosas were gf and i was so excited to try them. The only thing I wasn't a fan of and apparently I'm the only one is sitting in a cage.... There's only two in the restaurant so you stick out like a sore thumb and people keep on bumping into you, but apparently people reserve to sit there as it is very instagramable... would definitely recommend and will be back just not in a cage...

Just look at that drink selection!

What a cool vibey place in Plateau/Mont Royal! It's a Indian restaurant/bar/patio with a large creative menu of different takes on Indian food (traditional and modern) and a huge selection of 40 creative cocktails. Food/Drink was quite good - (4.5/5): Stopped by for brunch so had a light bite and mimosa. - Chicken and Waffles - what an interesting mixture of ingredients that shouldn't work but somehow it does. 2 waffles with tandoori fried chicken, lime sauce, curry, nuts and honey. Very filling and tasty! Service was good - servers were friendly and pretty attentive - (4/5) Atmosphere - very cool with choices for indoor tables, birdcage table for two, bar and outdoor patio. Really nicely decorated with vibey music in the background. Spaced out well and not too loud. - (4.5/5) Overall... would definitely repeat. Saw many things on the menu I wanted to try, including the tapas and traditional items.

tldr: pricy spot for small portions of Indian food with a great alcohol and cocktail menu My friend and I came here for dinner on a Tuesday evening at 6:30. Definitely make reservations before coming! We tried to drop in without one on Sunday and were told they were completely booked until 9 pm that evening. Fast forward two days when we tried again, this time with a reservation. The restaurant was still a bit empty when we arrived but quickly filled up not long after as it hit peak dinner time. I can see why it's such a popular spot. They have a wide variety of drinks, with 6 out of 8 menu pages dedicated to alcohol, and offer almost 30 different cocktails! Honestly, it was a bit overwhelming how many cocktail options they offered... I ended up asking our server for a sweet drink recommendation, and she gave me two options: her personal favorite, the Madmoiselle Rosa ($14.25) and the Guru ($14.75). The Madmoiselle Rosa was so good, with vodka, a vanilla liqueur, and grapefruit juice as the main ingredients. The Guru was good as well, but I didn't particularly care for the huge mountain of ice it was served with. For food, we weren't too hungry, so we shared one appetizer and one curry. The portions here are pretty small though, so in general I would recommend one curry per person. We started with tandoori chicken ($14). The chicken was very tender and flavorful, but there were only 3 pieces. Typically tandoori chicken at other restaurants come with 4 (much larger) pieces, so we were surprised by the small portions here. For our main, we ordered the malai kofta ($17) with one roti and plan naan. The malai kofta itself was okay, though I found the creamy cashew sauce a bit bland, which is saying a lot since my taste buds skew on the bland side. I didn't notice it when we ordered, but I was shocked by the price of bread after looking at our receipt. One naan was $4.50 and one roti was $6!!! By far the most expensive bread I've ever seen at an Indian restaurant... If the portions were a little bit bigger or if the roti wasn't so overpriced, I'd definitely give this place 4 stars, but as it stands, I can only give it 3. We paid almost $120 after tax and tip for 3 drinks, one app, and one entrée.

India Rosa has been a hit or miss for me, and not even because of the food. They need to work on their service. Once, I went and was seated at the bar, the waiter took my drink order, two young ladies came in, he completely forgot about me. They got their food and everything before me. I had to remind him of my presence. I went another time, they did have a huge table that was there before me, but I waited quite a while before they even came to ask me if I wanted anything to drink (I was actually on the verge of leaving). Another time, I went without reservations (tried my luck), there were two young ladies waiting outside, I asked them if they were waiting to get in, they replied that they didn't have a reservation but the staff told them to wait, so I figured "fine, they'll probably ask me to wait as well" I didn't mind. I got inside, stood in the entrance for a while and nobody came, then a guy finally showed up, I asked him if I could wait until someone leaves? He didn't even look at me and replied with a dry "NO" ... anyways after that I hadn't been in a while because nobody enjoys bad service, but recently I was in the area and decided to give it another try and this time the service was better. On another note, whenever I visit for brunch, I always order the egg Benedict butter chicken brunch with the mango lassi, it's delicious. The ambiance and decor are also always on point, if they were more consistent with service I'd easily give them a 5/5.

I know this place is best for brunch and that is definitely on my list to do asap but I'll review the dinner menu for now. Service is very friendly and fast and with covid the inside has plexiglass between the tables and the patio is more spaced out. I opted to sit outside since it wasn't raining and it looked a bit safer since I knew I wouldn't be going inside. If you do have to go inside for the bathroom, masks are mandatory. Ordered the butter chicken and the saag paneer with rice and naan bread as sides and everything was so gooooood. Big quantities too, couldn't finish everything. The food is rich and warm and comforting.

Excellente place et repas I recommend making reservations, the place is busy. The juice is made there, so it's a orange juice is a good choice

When India Rosa was opened newly, I had a major issue with the service as per my previous review. All the social media have been advertising India Rosa's brunch menu on the weekends, especially designed by the chef of Le Passé Composé (one of my favorite spot), I couldn't resist to come back to India Rosa. Impressively, the service had gotten better superbly. :A We started with our brunch cocktails and drink. Mango Lassi was sweet and smooth : A Paloma cocktail (tequila, grapefruit syrup, lime juice, soda and water) was heavenly. Right amount sourness and bittersweetness: A+ Then our dishes arrived Chana Masala with egg poached, with side puri was very delicious. Perfect blend of spices with great aroma with this plate. The only issue were the carrots they were too long to cut: B+ Eggs Benedict malai kofta, was good. The sauce was fanatic with pistachios. The smell was meditating. The crispy kales around it made this dish more extravagant. The brioche was a bit too big to finish though (carbs fill you too fast): B+ The presentation of the food and drinks (especially drinks) were majestic: A+ The restaurant is one most beautiful Indian restaurant in Montreal with the cage seats brings the decor into high level. : A+ Because of the amazing brunch, my impression of India Rosa changed from 2 stars to 4 stars. I hope they continue with their service like this.

I'm so excited that this place has reopened !! They have a beautiful terrasse, a lot of indoor seating area, but most importantly great food and drinks :) For our post-lockdown celebration, we had a mix of dishes: 1- chicken korma 5/5. So good and so creamy. Portion size is good for 1 (big for 1 actually) or perfect for sharing 2- veggie samosas with pineapple chutney 5/5 3- cocktails -10/5 AMAZING I'd definitely recommend this place and will be coming back. They take walk-in and reservations.

That was annoying because we had to wait a long time to order for no reason. The menu is online and their website doesn't have an English option. Very inconvenient and not tourist friendly. Minus one star for an all around poor experience ordering. The host/waiter was drying glasses at the bar and kept blowing into them to get water droplets out so minus one star for that. So gross. The food came out separately even though we ordered at the same time and made it clear one dish was for one of us and one was for the other. That meant that one of us was eating while the other waited because the food was going to get cold. Minus another star for splitting the order by a full 10 minutes. This place has a lot of potential. The flavor of the nigiri was great, but the portion size was amuse-bouche and not tapas. To charge $15 for 1/2 oz of beef and 5 cents worth do rice is highway robbery. The shishito peppers were great, all 4 of them. Most of the dish is peas which are used as filler. Again, charging $15 for about $2 worth of ingredients is ridiculous ESPECIALLY since the flavor of that dish wasn't anything spectacular. If you want less expensive shishito peppers with better flavor AND a great view, head over to Terasse Nelligan. Bottom line, I wanted to love this place when I walked in, but left underwhelmed and feeling ripped off having spent $40 for two tapas plates.

I'm a fan of cocktail bars, and after reading up on this spot I made it my intention to check it out. It just so happened that it was a short walk from my hotel, so we decided to check it out one night before heading to dinner. The Cloakroom is a speakeasy, nestled behind a hidden door in a men's clothing shop. In the line of being a speakeasy, the space is small - there are only 24 seats but since we got there right at opening we were seated right away. The space is dark and intimate, with the bottles of liquor lit up behind the bar providing an attractive focal point. One of the more unique features of the bar is that there's no menu; we told our server the types of liquors we wanted along with the flavor notes and they crafted a cocktail based on our tastes. We ultimately had two rounds; my first drink was vodka-based and fruity, while I went with something gin-based and dryer. Both were very good - there's little fanfare with presentation; the bartenders let the drinks speak for themselves. Service was great; due to the setup, each patron is given extra attention which really highlighted the experience. Overall, I really enjoyed my time at The Cloakroom Bar. This was definitely a unique experience with excellent curated drinks. I would definitely return the next time I'm in Montreal.
