Although I only have one check in here, I've been on a number of occasions and I love this place!…read more As someone with an addiction to classic American cars, DVAP is heaven. They have a lot of rust free donor vehicles and also project cars. Since becoming "famous" in the show Desert Car Kings they do charge for a wander around but it's understandable I guess as it's a working yard. Ok, they don't always have the cheapest prices but they will work with you to source the correct part & hand it to you or send out. This is not the sort of place you turn up with your tools & crawl around (& given that I was there in 115F heat one day, I wouldn't want to anyway). I do get that some people feel they should be getting the parts cheap because they are "old" but try getting some of these parts aftermarket first & then decide... I'll admit that the first time I dealt with them (about 7 years ago), I almost gave up because it was so hard getting an answer but they have improved the customer service side of things out of all sight. I've met the owner and he is passionate about old cars. DVAP is always the first place I look when I'm trying to find something. I've bought both a project car & parts from DVAP. Pretty sure I'll be back again when next in Phoenix, even just to take a look at what new stuff they have :)

Buckle up because this ones a doozy. We chose this company because they will pick our cart up and…read moretake it to their shop and fix our cart. They came and picked it up in September 2020 and told us it would take 2-3 weeks to fix. We were getting a completely new engine and it repainted. We were told it would be like a brand new golf cart. The 3 week mark went by, and we heard nothing, so we called to see wthe update was. We were told that because of Covid, getting parts in was probing to be difficult. We understood and asked to be updated every few weeks. Nothing for over a month. We called again and were told it wouldn't be long. Another month goes by, nothing. Finally, my husband would call every week for an update. He'd leave a message, and no one would call him back. We just wanted updates, that's all, but the lady who answers the phone would just tell us to keep being patient. The communication was terrible!! Finally in February, almost 6 months laters, we got our cart back. Excited to use it again, we drive it around and stop at a friends house. We get into the cart.......nothing. No engine running, NOTHING. Talk about ridiculous! We were told that it would run like new since everything was fixed and redone. Heck! We'd waited 6 months!! Called Mario. No answer. Left a message. Called the next morning and were told "yes, we got your message this morning." So you got our message but didn't call us right away?? Terrible customer service. Mario came out and looked at it, fixed and issue that should have been fixed the first time, and was on his way. Great! We have a working cart again......or do we?? It was driving fine until 2 days ago when, AGAIN, we were stranded miles from our home because our golf cart won't work. Had to have it towed back to our house. So......after spending thousands to have our cart completely redone, it's not working. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

I was getting estimates to get it all fix and cost was way out of range. I stopped by Northern Auto & Equipment, they looked at it and gave me price which was more than half off all others, I said really? I said ok let's do it. When I picked up my car everything was fixed. New bumper, the side was fix, the trunk fixed and they even took care of a dent they found on the car. at (NO Extra Charge) The paint matched perfectly, I was totally amazed at the great work. wow!! They were friendly and answered all my questions. The car was done in a timely matter. If you need your car fixed..this is the place. A very happy customer, Roger

I wasn't going to even post about this, but I sent them the email that I am about to post below here and they didn't even write back to say, "hey piss off" or "sorry" or anything. Good day, My name is Tim Brown. I have been doing business with you guys for the last 6 or 7 years. I wasn't even going to let you guys know this, but I decided that if you at least knew about it, maybe you can prevent something like this in the future for other customers. I have done about 10 transactions with you guys and the first 8 were absolutely flawless at a price that could not be beat. And I am very grateful for that work. The last 2 times you guys did some work for me though there were some minor oversights that put me in a bad position and wound up costing me dearly after the fact. I am only really interested in telling you about the latest transaction. I want to be clear about a few things. - This repair was done 3 months ago on September 11th, 2013 - I am taking about 30% of the blame on all of this. - I am not asking for you guys to correct it or make it right in anyway. At this point it serves no purpose for anyone to put the amount of time and cost it would take to make it right. I have a 2002 Nissan Altima you guys have repaired for me a few times. My goal was to make this Altima last until this summer. On September 11th you guys replaced the timing chain system for me. During this repair Jim called me to inform me that they would need to drain my oil and do an oil change. I said fine. The oversight on your guy's part was you never put oil in it after you drained it, but I wasn't sure of that until just Friday. I am not a car guy by any means. Here is where my 30% of blame comes in. I check that oil religiously. Generally I need to put about a half-quart in every 6 weeks or so. I will also admit it had been a while since I got that oil changed. Another thing that I take blame for (and please keep in mind I am not a car guy at all) is I was under the impression cars only took about 2 and half courts of oil total. But I figured since an oil changed just happened with you guys I didn't need to worry about it for a few weeks. I only drive this car a few times a week anyway. When I checked the oil about a week later it looked like none was on the dipstick. There was tiny remnants of something, but not much. So I put a quart of oil in and I got the same results on my dipstick. Not much of anything. I just thought maybe they did some kind of super clean in there or something. This goes on for a few months. I am not seeing any oil when I check and I am not seeing much when I add a half a quart or so. Then I was worrying I had too much oil. Finally on Friday I was driving and the car was acting very peculiar. I was getting white smoke out of the exhaust at take-off and it was very rough. Then my oil light came on. In talking to a mechanic on my street he told me that car probably takes about 4 and a half quarts. We put in 3 and finally I saw oil on my dipstick. But at that point it's too late. He says I have probably blown some kind of valve gasket and that would be waaaaaaayyyy to pricey to fix. So that is the story. Again, much of this is my fault, and I am not looking for anything in return other than for you guys to know this happened to me, and it's put me in a very bad spot going forward. I won't be going to yelp screaming or hollering, but I probably won't be back that way either for repairs despite your amazing prices. Sincerely yours, Timothy Brown
