They charged me $617 for service not completed I had to call the police to get my refund I found them not to be reputable

I really enjoyed my service experience at this AYT. I called around earlier that week to get estimates and most shops were reluctant to give me estimates over the phone. When provided they were a wide range with hundreds of dollars of difference between each number. When I called AYT Bo gave me exact numbers for the work and parts on my 2015 Mazda 6. He even told me where I could go to get my own parts if I needed a cheaper price. I spent over two thousand dollars on a lot of work. Everywhere else was averaging at least a thousand dollars more at their lowest estimate (without seeing it). He was very helpful and was able to get me in that same week. There wasn't even a line when I came in. I think he estimated a few days to complete the work, but he actually completed the work early by EOD the next day. I saved a lot of money and had a fast service. I would highly recommend this shop! read more

I have a 2008 Ford Escape and only come here to get my car fixed! They have changed my oil for several years now, rotated my tires, fixed my headlights, & help me repair my car after it got hit the back! This place has a large waiting area and also plenty of shops around to walk around while I waited. The owner and front desk guy were super cool and ready to help with whatever I needed! They were very straight forward to me about finding the issues with my car when it was unidentifiable at first but took the time to run the tests! Even when they're are jam packed that day, they keep me updated on my car. I understand they're busy so i know they're trying the best they can do to get me out of there ! They literally have touched every part of my car and I will continue to travel the extra 8 miles to go to this place! Thanks for all you do!! Shoutout Bo and Gary!!!! read more

I've had AYT bookmarked for forever and finally needed to use them. I had an awesome experience. Jamie is awesome. He is friendly, patient, and explanatory. Sometimes I feel super awkward at garages, but not here. And the prices are extremely reasonable and quotes accurate. My car was ready sooner than expected. And while AYT is a bit out of the way, I'd rather go somewhere that I'm comfortable with and feel that I am being treated respectfully. And where my baby is treated well, too. read more

Having recently moved from another state, I used Yelp to find me a local business for néw front brakes and an oil change. They gave me a quote before I came in and stuck to that quote after doing the services that I needed. They also gave me an approximate time when it would be finished, and were within that time window when calling for pick up. Absolutely terrible service. I took my car here because my girlfriend got some coupons from them in the mail, and all I can say is STAY AWAY! Not only did it take well over an hour to complete the oil change when I was told it would take an hour, but then I drive my car home and I start hearing a strange hissing/air leaking sound as if a container of compressed air is loose. It seemed like it was only happening when my air conditioning was on. I took it back to them and they said they couldn't hear it. I drove it home and the sound seemed to be gone, but the next day it was back so clearly they didn't test things out extensively enough. I have no Idea what they did, but I have never in my life heard my car make this sound until I got my oil changed at this place. THEN, as if that wasn't reason enough to never go back, I realize that they somehow activated my Ford Focus' MyKey settings, which is what parents use for their kids so they can't drive over a certain speed limit or turn the music up too loud or listen to music without buckling their seat belt. I can understand the seat belt precaution, but I have never had this setting on. I lent my car to my girlfriend to drive to Pittsburgh for the week for Thanksgiving and she realized you can't even turn the volume up in my car beyond 40% anymore. I have never had these My Key settings on or even known about their existence until I got my oil changed here. So I took my car to have them fix all of these issues, and then I get a call back from a guy simply saying that the car could go over 80. I had thought my girlfriend told me the speed was limited to 80 mph but apparently I misheard her. Regardless, that was all the guy said to me. So clearly the guy at the front desk who I complained to didn't even tell the mechanic about all of the issues that were wrong with the car, i.e. the hissing sound, the music not playing when no seat belt is on, and the volume limit. UPDATE: I get a call early the next morning to let me know the same exact thing. The car will go up to 100 mph. I told them the previous afternoon when they called saying that same thing that the real issue is the hissing noise when the AC is on and the fact that the volume doesn't go up over 40% and shuts off when the seat belt isn't buckled. So clearly they didn't care to listen or take notes on my concerns. They are not focused on customer satisfaction. I explained that these MyKey Ford settings were never activated during the entire time I owned the car. Now, the only way to deactivate them is with a second set of keys, which I may not still have, and the cost to get new keys and program them is over $200. So the careless mistakes of this place could end up costing me hundreds, which is completely unacceptable and ridiculous. Overall this place is a complete joke. Just horrible. I have only gone once and this is hands down the worst oil change experience I have ever had. Needless to say, I will not be going back and I recommend that no one else go here for oil changes or any car repairs for that matter. read more

I hate to bash any place of business but... I had been taking my vehicles to this place for years.. some good days, some bad days, but not enough to make me completely stop using their services until.. my dad's Rams R/t needed some service for a starting issue.. we took it to AYT, I forget what they charged but they told us they fixed it.. week later same issue came about again, while several engine component item was completely reattached.. we took the truck back.. they looked at it, said it started up fine and gave it back.. a week later same issue, this time we couldn't even get it start so we can take it down there, they sent a tow and held it a few days, told us it maybe a fuel pump issue.. a month later the issue came back again so we took down to get the fuel pump replaced...a week later the issue returned and we started noticing several different monitors would alert randomly at times. A key one was the traction control light, also once again they gave us the truck back without completely putting it back together (air filter housings)..my dad return the truck with an array of complaints, and they ignored them claiming "he's just and old man being and old man and complaining about everything." After all the back and forth, we grew tired and decide we should just take the truck the dodge, but before we could do that, the truck slid outta control on a early morning grocery store run on a wet day. Tried this place because they take credit and my gf's mother goes here on a regular. Needed brakes all way around ( rotors, drums, shoes, pads, cylinders) and air control valve( low rpm) car kept shutting off. Installed the air control valve in two days and was waiting on the brake parts I had ordered. Installed all the brake parts on a Friday morning, after I dropped the parts of Thursday afternoon. Got my car back Friday afternoon and drove for about an hour before I heard some noise rattling. Took it back Saturday morning, was literally there 5 minutes before the manager called me back in ( I was outside about to leave in my gf's car). A dust cover was loose and was causing severe scraping. Had it for a week now and it's been great. I think they are a reputable business. read more

I got my oil changed here because I live around the corner and they accept walk-ins. The guy at the front desk was very professional and the price was better than what I typically pay at Midas or Meineke. $105 for a synthetic oil change isn't bad considering the big guys charge almost double for the same service. It took almost 90 minutes which was fine. They have a large waiting area and interesting people inside. I'd definitely return for additional auto service. read more

Good honest quality service was provided here at AYT. In fact they competently fixed an ongoing issue with my car that was created by another mechanic's ineptitude. I have been going to their 620 I street location for the few years. Andy have been taking care of all my car needs. He moved to a new bigger location. Took my car into his new location for a routine maintenance and oil change. To my surprise they have a nice big waiting area with free wi-fi. I have an old, rusty, high mileage minivan. But, whenever I take it in for service here, the prices are reasonable and they seem to correct any problems and will test for others. If I'm getting a full service, I generally leave the car overnight. If just getting an oil change, the place is conveniently located near some ivy city restaurants (Ivy City Smokehouse is great) and a distillery (if you leave the car over night, this option works). I generally wouldn't get over to this part of town without the shop, but the service and price are worth it, and the nearby stuff is a bonus. read more

This Place gave me a estimate of over $1450.00 to replace a AC condensor and had charged $450 for the condensor that only cost $98.00 at NAPA...and it only required 2hours of labor....what a joke then charged me $160.00 for them to diagnose the problem..nope never again read more

Two of my vehicles have been serviced multiple times, including anything as small as an oil change, plugging a tire, as big as engine running issues, annual checkups, they always do a stellar job. I called these guys on the phone to confirm if this was the type of inspection I need to get my hard tags. he said yes I got here after diving from Laurel to pay almost 100 dollars for an inspection that wouldn't be accepted at the MVA. this is my first new car so idk the process. I call there MVA and she said to me that is not accepted we do our own on sight for 35 bucks I lost my cool. I hung up on the MVA to call AYT back for him to tell me he can refund me for being the owner of a worthless 100 piece of paper. freaking impossible. Took my car in last week to have the brake check. Cuz it failed MD safety inspection. Got it fixed at a very reasonable price within a few hours. The best part is they even offers drop off and pick up from the nearest metro station. Great service and keep up with the good work guys. read more

I really don't like putting folks on blast but because of the poor service I received I felt obligated to do it so others won't have the same experience. I was perplexed with the $89 diagnostic fee I was charged when I already told them what the problem was with my car (and yes, after the diagnosis, they realized it was exactly what I told them it was). Not to mention the arrogant attitude of the front desk attendant (no name mentioned). After having my car for 2 days for a job that should've taken no less than an hour and a half, I drove it home only to find out one of the things they said they fixed wasn't. I took it back to get fixed 2 weeks later because the original problem happened again. Well, once again, after picking my car up for a second time, the car stalls out on me again. Our SUV was towed here by tow truck when it broke down on the highway while we were on a road trip to DC. They were super nice folks. As it was already late in the day they couldn't finish the extensive engine repairs that day. They drove us to/from the hotel and got the job finished the next morning. This business states that they are able to provide online quote, hence the request option button on their yelp page. I recently selected this option, told them what I needed only to receive a response from Jamie S, who states is the manager of the business that he is not the appropriate person who is able to provide a quote and I should call someone else at the shop. There are several things wrong with this. First, how is the MANAGER of the business unable to provide a quote for services at their establishment? Second, why is the MANAGER telling me to call someone else in the establishment is was hired to manage? Lastly, why mislead customers suggesting that you are able to provide a real time estimation with a 2 hour response time if you cannot. While I am not taking my car here because of the aforementioned reasons, I do not think that anyone should be comfortable taking there car to any repair shop that cannot deliver on a guarantee they offer online. But, more importantly you should be extremely concerned with leaving your car to have repair work at a shop with the manager is not able to perform basic services. Makes me wonder the skill level of the mechanics. read more

I went there twice. The first job was great. But then on my second visit, with the same car, they did a horrible job. I had to take my car back almost five separate times and they never did repair my car correctly! Not only that but the attitude from management was like we got paid, sorry about your car. I first went to AYT Auto when I had my mirror broken on my 2001 Honda about a year ago. They fixed it so quickly and at such a reasonable price, that I decided to have them do some basic servicing of the car. Impressed with the knowledge, friendliness and professionalism of the mechanics. When my headlights weren't working recently, I knew it probably just needed bulbs, but because of the location of the light bulbs in the Honda, I thought that it would cost an arm and a leg to have them replaced. And, I figured it would take a long time. I called first to get a quote--it was so low, I thought it couldn't be right, so I went in person-- It didn't even cost me a finger! It was fixed within minutes and cost was extremely reasonable. Will definitely use them again for major repairs. read more
