    Birthday dessert

Great food, great atmosphere, and great staff!! The executive chef came to our table and chatted for a bit and wished me a happy birthday. Also, I was given a complementary birthday dessert! Def will be back :)

My boyfriend and I had a mini getaway here over the weekend and found this place online. We made reservations here ONLY because we saw they had king crab legs with a loaded baked potato. Seeing how I absolutely love crab legs we just had to go here. We got there about 10min before our reservation, but they still seated us quickly. Our table was in the middle of the floor. We would have liked a booth as it was just the 2 of us at a 4 seated table, but it wasn't that important. We ordered some drinks. I had the "purple rain" and my boyfriend had a margarita. I noticed that our waiter did not card us for the drinks. The purple rain drink was delicious and my boyfriend liked his margarita. For $11.00 the drinks could have be a little more stronger. The bread they brought out to us was huge and just ok. Even the butter was blah. Could have been salted butter and they could have kept that nasty cinnamon butter. So now we are about to order those delicious king crab legs, only for the waiter to tell us they only do them on Tuesdays due to the cost. Huge disappointment because that's what we were there for. There is not alot on the menu to choose from so we had to settle for steak. I ordered my steak medium with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans with a side of sautéd shrimp. My boyfriend ordered his steak medium well (he wanted less pink) with garlic mashed potatoes and a loaded baked potato. The meal came with soup or salad and we both chose the Cajun chicken soup. The soup was delicious (we both thought so). After the soup was done we got our food. I noticed that my boyfriend steak was medium and not medium well. So I had to switch steaks with him because that was too red for his liking. The steaks were under seasoned. Like I literally tasted no seasoning. Both of our garlic mash was a little too salty and my boyfriend said his loaded potato was dry. The sauted shrimp were huge and good. I don't even eat green beans but they were good. Our bill came to about $99 and for that price we could have went to outback steakhouse.

We were there in June and requested the highly recommended Prince booth. The service and food were great. We ordered the Purple Rain signature drinks. I had the steak dinner. Loved the relaxing music playing in the background. I can see why the greatest musical artist of all time loved that place. We will definitely be back when we visit Chanhassen next year. The manager was very nice and responsive as I made our reservations via email. He responded via email and again when I confirmed our reservations a few days before.

After doing the ultimate tour at paisley park this morning we called and made reservations for lunch in Prince's booth, we got so lucky! Lisa was our waitress. We had the salmon and veggies, very tasty. I had the purple rain drink, it was very sweet but not much alcohol in it. We shared the Baileys. Chocolate cake, it was ok nothing great. It's an old school type restaurant playing Frank Sinatra music but cool vibe and nice customer service. Beet salad was good too! I was happy to sit in the booth where Prince used to eat all the time.

Ok so my fiance and I had dinner here just a lil while ago. I honestly was surprised at the excellent service we received and how quickly our waitress served up over the hour of dining. 5/5 for hospitality keep up the great work. We had the Chicken cajun soup which was damn tasty. We had the fish fry which they had too much grease on them and let's just say all the food on that plate may come back later. However the quality of the seafood was beyond my expectations and actually was very presentable and didnt taste that bad. I just break out easily from greasy foods but that's also what makes the food taste good. I will eat at axels again and re review another review for our next outing.

Slowly went downhill and then closed this location. Their website turned into a disaster. We have been going there for about 7 years.

The service at the bar was a bit slow at times there was two back there but the staff worked really hard at the end as the party went late and the staff was awesome cleaning up around us til the last minute so thanks for that!!! We went back today and while it was still good, definitely wasn't as good as it was last time. The jerk chicken plate removed the beans, changed the rice, and got rid of the sauce so it wasn't as good though it was a bit less dry than last time. They also removed the Ropa Vieja from the menu which was our favorite. My husband had the Cuban sandwich and was not impressed. The fries with it were good. The drinks were still great. Service was friendly but slow (drinks, food, and waitress all slow). Another in our party got the blackened salmon which was really good. Unfortunately, I was so nervous they would remove or change the menu to be worse, which is a common theme I've noticed with 4 different restaurants by these owners now, so I was so bummed to see that's exactly what happened. Such a cool vibe, great drinks, and a really cool new patio - but the food needs a bit of work - bring back the Ropa Vieja and the better jerk chicken!

I loved that they have New Riff-Rye. I also love a play on the classics the Tequila Old Fashioned (Reposado tequila, coconut aquavit, agave, tiki bitters.) The inside is gorgeous: dark grey wood everywhere, very modern, and smells amazing from the moment you walk in. I love that it's in the space that used to be Cuzzy's Bar and Grill; the renovation really makes it feel like a whole new place. I ordered the cornbread skillet and a chicken sandwich (I asked for bacon but didn't get it). The cornbread skillet was excellent -- my partner had cheese curds that were melt-in-your-mouth, i love when places paor curds with the blueberry dip. The chicken sandwich was awesome: quality chicken with a super crunchy breading, and the tomatoes had a little pepper seasoning which made it stand out from your usual sandwich. I also tried their Mac and Cheese. Thats pretty good its dauced just right and i think its pimento cheese. Partner also tried chicken and waffles, which he enjoyed but said it wasn't his favorite -- not really a chicken-and-waffles guy. The sweet potato fries were tasty, though a bit soft rather than crispy. Service was fantastic. Our server was very sweet, attentive, and helpful with suggestions and questions. The bathrooms were clean, and the bar area looked well done. The space is much bigger than the old restaurant, with more booths and seating than I expected. Overall, I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I would definitely come back to try more off the menu -- everything looks tempting. A wonderful spot in Chaska that's worth visiting. Go visit!

Very close to the lake(walking distance) There is a free parking ramp right behind the building. The decor of this place is cute! The details seem like they were well thought out! It feels upscale and cozy! I saw a video of this place and that was what originally drew me in! The seating here is also comfortable and not over crowded. Our server was ok. I saw so many raves about the "amazing service." She did refill our water glasses, which was good because I needed it with the salty steak! Obviously the most important piece is the food. We started with the popovers. The taste was fine but the texture was almost over done. The honey butter was lacking honey flavor. Cinnamon would have really elevated the butter! I got the steak frites and my sister got the spaghetti. My fries were average. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium all the way through! I was impressed. However, it was drowning in a VERY salty sauce! I had push a lot of it off. This should be served on the side, not covering the whole steak. My sister got the spaghetti, which our waitress explained was not a regular spaghetti. I feel she has probably had to do that multiple times and honestly, it should just be renamed. It's confusing for the customer. My sister did say she enjoyed the dish and that the shrimp was ere done well. For dessert I got "Aunties iced latte" which is their version of like an espresso martini. It was just ok. Would not get again. We got the carrot cake which was good!! But then they ruined it by putting fake whipped cream.... This is supposed to be a higher end restaurant and that made the dessert feel so cheap. We also got the creme brûlée. DO NOT ORDER THAT! It is an absolute waste of money! The sugar top was so thick we couldn't eat it! The dessert had the consistency of scrambled eggs, not a smooth custard. The taste seemed ok, but whoever made this does not know what they are doing! Overall, the food was not memorable and a lot of it was done poorly. There are definitely better restaurants in the area.

It's the perfect spot for a casual date night or lunch with friends or by yourself! I had their vegetable potstickers and the vegetarian miso ramen and both absolutely hit the spot. The broth was flavorful and not overly salty and all of the ingredients came together so nicely. The flavors were outstanding! We also tried the green and peppermint tea which were delicious and high quality! To top off an amazing food experience, our waitress Courtney was spectacular! She was so kind, helpful with the menu, and went above and beyond to help make our experience so positive. You would absolutely be missing out if you don't stop here while near Excelsior. Jester Concepts' restaurants are typically at the top of my lists (Parlour, Borough and Starling…read moreare among my favorites), but in my experience, Shiki missed the mark. To be sure, ramen is a hard perfect, with each component really having to stand on its own to allow for the dish to come together. I ordered the Shoyu Ramen with a soy based broth, roasted pork belly, a soft boiled egg and toasted nori. The biggest miss was the broth - it was bland, almost watered down and lacked complexity. The noodles were plentiful and had good texture while the pork belly was gray and sad, too fatty without a hint of flavor. The bowl was not hot either and the whole experience left me with a "meh" feeling. My dining mates felt similarly about the Kimchi Ramen. A redeeming quality of Shiki is their shrimp steam buns, which we ordered as a starter. Cold poached shrimp are delicately placed inside pillowy steam buns and accessorized with crisp pickled veggies, hoisin sauce and cilantro. Great small bites to share. Aside from the lackluster bowls, the ambiance was a little disappointing as well. We went on a Tuesday night around 6PM, so granted, not peak dining hour by any means. The space is small, with a few bar seats and maybe four to five tables. Something was burning in the open kitchen behind the bar and the heavy smoke in the restaurant was overpowering, leaving us smelling like charred meat for some time after. The staff were very pleasant, but the space is just lacking character. Maybe on an afternoon for lunch, sitting up at the bar, would be more of an experience - but I still think the food would leave you disappointed.
