I bought a Groupon at a different spa by mistake, but when I called to make the appointment Ben asked me to come in anyway and try his float Therapy on the house. I was a first timer so Ben asked me to arrive a few minutes early to explain the process. It.was clean and it wasn't a pod it was less claustrophobic that way, he even explained that they are jetted clean after every use. My favorite part was that he didn't try talking me into a package after my free trial. He was very polite and open to questions and he didn't put any sales pressure on me. So the place itself is 5 stars - its super cute and clean! As for the float experience, its just not for me. Dont get me wrong I love massages, practicing yoga and going to spas and I'm always up for anything that promotes relaxation and self care. However, I just never relaxed enough in the float chamber to truly feel like a 90min float session is great enough to do again. We had purchased some float sessions through Groupon. Followed the link to their website to book time directly through Groupon. We then call the day of, about three days later to confirm the appointment. Eric, who answered the phone at Awaken, then proceeded to provide the worst customer service experience we've received in years! Was very short and rude on the phone. Proceeded to be degrading and combative to the point that we told him we would get a refund from Groupon and take our business elsewhere. A few minutes later Eric called back in some ignorant attempt to save face and proceeded with the same horrific attitude. It seemed to me like this guy could care less about his attitude or customer service he was providing. Kinda sad that in times like this with Covid and the pandemic people won't even appreciate someone willing to invest in their small business. read more

My star reviews are solely on the facilities. I have to say that I'm overall very happy with the facility. The staff member present was very polite, knowledgeable and open to any questions I had. He did his best to work as fast as possible to get the room running and making sure it was pristine. The only downside I found to the facility was that the wooden floors and the shower were slippery. I think if they added some kind of mat, I wouldn't have to worry half the time that I would fall. Also, the changing table/seat seemed a bit flimsy and uncomfortable. However, I don't think this should deter anyone from going. For those curious of my experience, I found out floating was not for me. Even though I did relax, I felt it was rather boring and didn't have that great introspective and therapeutic experience. I also found out quickly that any slight movement (e.g wiggling toes) meant that I'd eventually hit the sides of the pod. I'm 6'1", so that made it even easier to happen. At the end of the session, I did find that joint/back related pain had subsided, but the pain returned within a couple of hours. I don't think I would try again floating, but I'm happy for those of you that find it so therapeutic. read more

IT'S NOT FOR EVERYONE. It was definitely not for me or for my bf. He got really hot and got so motion sick that he had to get out an hour early (take meds if you think this will be you). He was really excited to try it since everyone he knew raved about it. My experience was okay. I didn't have a mental trip, I didn't have an out of body experience. It was just dark and wet. It's not something I will continue doing but I'M GLAD I TRIED IT. I think that's my take from it. PROS: - I took an hour nap. I love naps. - My skin feels pretty amazing. - I faced my fear of being in the dark and claustrophobia. - I didn't get motion sickness. I'm very prone to it but it didn't get to me. Not sure if that's a pro. - My senses DID get hightened. I could hear even under water WITH earplugs. I felt like a Damm super hero. YAS! - IT'S SUPER CLEAN. I have annoyingly high standards. - The people that work there are so welcoming and warm. The owner passionate and down to earth. - Booking was super fast even with a Groupon. Pretty affordable as well. - It's something different to try. CONS: - My hair got so nappy. I wanted to cry. Maybe it's because my hair is bleached? - It's super easy to get the water in your eyes and if you do... you'll either have to keep them closed for the rest of the time inside the chamber or hate life. The towel they provide doesn't help the sting in your eyes. - It's super cold when you come out of the bath. I was shaking. This is normal, but still didn't like it. - While it did put me to sleep. I'm an easy sleeper, so it's not that note worthy. - Their organic shampoo, conditioner, body wash wasnt for me. If you have sensitive skin, i recommend your own products. I brought my own products for after the bath. I did use their own products before because I didn't want to accidentally contaminate the water with mine. Overall... glad I tried it but it's not for me. I give it 5 stars since both the facility and the staff are excellent. I had my float nice and early to start my day off right. Inside the tank, I was nice and relaxed and the time seemed to stop which was incredible. But when I got out of the tank I felt rushed and stressed since there were only two tanks and I was not sure how much time I had. I wish there was a room that you could go to after your float to relax and reflect on your float before going back to the real world. There is only one bathroom stall as well which makes it difficult for ladies like myself to be able to get fully ready after the float before leaving. I had a great float but the experience after is why I will not be returning to this location. When they get to a bigger space that has a larger bathroom, with more stalls and maybe a separate area with mirrors for ladies to get ready, and a quiet area to reflect maybe I will return. read more

My husband and i scheduled a last minute day of appointment. The guy right off the bat got us in and price matched a coupon we had found online. It was our first time "floating" and i was very apprehensive about the whole concept, but the guy that helped us was super nice, informative, and friendly. I honestly thought 1.5 hr was a long time to be floating but it was just enough to get over my racing thoughts; anxieties and paranoia which was my initial reaction. Focusing on my breathing and letting go took 30 mins. I fell into a restful slumber for the rest of the time. That night I had the best sleep which was a blessing as I have insomnia most nights. They're absolutely huge and so clean it's l, quite frankly, incredible. Had a great experience here. I stumbled upon this place while scrolling through groupon, and I'm very glad I did. I didn't know what to expect, and Eric walked me through the whole process. Basically you go into one of their rooms. You put in the earplugs. You shower. You get into the tank. You slowly get into the water and lay back. (You can ask for a head rest pillow, but it's better to just lay your head back.) After the water calms down, you just lay there and rest. It's pinch dark, so it's easy to relax you mind and body. After 90 minutes (which only feels like ten) you will hear music and that's the que to get up, push open the door and shower then go home and sleep. read more

So I will be brutally honest. At first, I was very skeptical about this whole "float" experience until I heard from a lot of people to just give it a chance. Being the experimenter I am and willing to try new things, I gave it a shot. I walked in and was greeted by this guy named Eric. It really was not hard for me to forget because not only we had the same name but I felt like I connected with him in a very professional and friendly manner. While things were being prepared and getting ready for my experience, I just had some small talk with Eric about him starting this business and what I need to know to maximize and enhance my experience. Eric then showed me the room and explained in detail what I should do the moment after I shower and get into the "tank". After his informative spiel, I took a quick shower, got into the tank, floated, and relaxed. Within 10-15 minutes, my body felt so relaxed and "one with the water". For a long period of time, I really can't tell if I was awake or dreaming because it's so relaxing and pitch black. One might say it's a "psychedelic" experience, but I would describe it as very exhilarating. So here is what I can say for people who are unsure or are about to try and experience this...give it a chance. If it's not what you expected the first time, give it another shot. But hear me out, when you do go in there, really relax yourself and try to not think about things. Just like what Morpheus said to Neo in the movie Matrix, you have to "free your mind". Aside from all of the good things I stated in this review, the only thing that I really wished is that there would be more advertising. The place: So when you first walk into awaken float lounge and you've never done this before it's hard to imagine what to expect. The entry is plain, and neat. But let's be honest you're not going there for the ambiance and the sophisticated art work in the waiting room. The rooms with the float tanks are very clean and fresh with 1 tank and 1 shower per room. Fresh towels are provided as well as soap, shampoo, ear plugs and water. The staff: I'm sorry I forgot the girls name, but she was very friendly. She called me to confirm my appointment before I arrived. Upon arrival she greeted me by name immediately, which was very impressive. And Eric spoke with me before and after my session. This guy is jam packed full of knowledge and experience with these float tanks, so if you have any questions, want to hear some stories or share yours definitely chat him up before you go. The experience: The experience was awesome. If you explore their website you can kind of get an idea of what you're getting yourself into. And a pro tip to the ladies (well I guess the guys too) DO NOT, WHATEVER YOU DO, ignore the part about shaving, do that the 12 hour minimum before you go, if not longer. I thought 6 was enough, but nah. Anyway, back to floating. The total darkness was the hardest part to get used to, there was no difference between eyes open or closed. If this makes you nervous or uncomfortable do what I did, I used the towel to prop the door open until I got comfortable and then yanked it so the door closed to ease myself into it. But definitely do close the door, you'll get more out of your experience and the tank feels so much bigger when it's dark. I'm 5'10 and I had no problem fully extending my arms and legs Conclusion: I think I will make this a monthly ritual. You guys will see me back there at the end of march/early may. read more

I absolutely love this place! I have extreme anxiety and very claustrophobic so I was nervous about how I would feel in the tank. But I have pretty bad flare ups from fibromyalgia I was desperate. Eric is so awesome he is super chill and honest with you and take you through the whole process! He even has these nightlight orbs you can take in the tank with you if your scared like I was. But once I stepped in the tank and started floating all the fear just washed away. I love floating now and it helps a lot with my pain and anxiety. I'm also a germ a phobe so I love how everything is cleaned well before and after your visit. You guys must come here! read more

As my first float experience, I don't have other businesses to compare. But, coming into this experience I had some preconceptions that the staff here and facility completely alleviated. The staff was very friendly, and welcoming. The lobby was clean and comfortable. During the initial tour of the facility, the experience and tips to improve the experience covered every concern I could have had. The facility is immaculate and feels very hygienic. The final concern I had was crawling into a small tank and being stuck there for my session. But the tanks are obviously top of the line and take up an entire room. Didn't know much about floating until I heard Joe Rogan talk about it. Months later, I found out about Awaken opening up in Orange right next to my house and knew that I needed to try it. Made an appt through their website and when I arrived, I was greeted immediately at the door. Eric (the owner) knew my name and was very personable and professional. Since it was my first float, I didn't know much about it so Eric gave me a tour and explained the floating process step by step. Once it was time to get in the tank, I was a bit nervous since it was my first time...but as soon as I climbed in the tank, I was ok. The business is brand spanking new, but already functions like a well rounded facility. The owner Eric is very personal and easy to talk to. The tanks that Eric has here are the centerpiece of the business. They are Float Lab tanks that are absolutely top notch, you won't find better tanks for the experience that these tanks can give. I have floated a total of 5 times, 3 at other locations and 2 here at Awaken Float, and I find Awaken Float to be the best of the 4 locations.
