Had a great experience at Avra and would absolutely go back.
We went all in on the menu and everything started off strong. The calamari was lightly fried and paired perfectly with a really tasty green dipping sauce. The Avra chips were a surprise standout. Crunchy, seasoned eggplant chips with easily some of the best tzatziki I've had. The tuna tartare was another highlight, incredibly fresh and melt-in-your-mouth good.
We also had a dozen East Coast oysters and a sashimi platter with Faroe Island salmon, big eye tuna, and hamachi. Everything was super fresh and clean. Definitely a must if you're into raw seafood. And yes, we had to add the truffle fries, no regrets there.
For the main, I tried the lobster pasta. The presentation was great and there was a generous amount of lobster, but the tomato sauce was a bit heavy for my taste. I'd probably go with the linguini and clams next time, but still glad I tried it.
Dessert was a strong finish. The strawberry cheesecake was solid, but the butter cake was the real winner for me. If you like butter cake, don't skip it.
A couple small notes, the back area was a bit noisy and I'd opt to sit inside next time. That said, the service was excellent. The staff was attentive and made the whole experience feel polished.
Overall, a fantastic spot with high-quality seafood, great dishes across the board, and top-tier service. Definitely worth a visit. read more
