Fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in what they serve. Dish after dish arrived and somehow it kept getting better. Service was equally strong. Attentive. Professional. The team made sure everything flowed smoothly without ever feeling rushed. The drinks were outstanding as well. Great cocktails, well balanced, and crafted the right way. Apparently, my trip to Miami was basically an Israeli food tasting, and Aviv was absolutely delicious! I came here with two other people, so we decided to get the tayim. We got: *Resek hummus - this was delicious *Salatim - these were a really yummy selection *Yellowtail crudo - delicious *Moroccan cigars - good, but the ones at Motek were better *Stuffed dates - yum! *Beef shishlik - this was amazing *Lamb merguez - good *Kebab - also good We finished with the chocolate dessert, which was perfect! The drinks were really really good too. I got the Zhoug, which was nice and a little spicy, and my friends got the fig-stachio Manhattan (the presentation is really nice, and the drink is delicious), and the pastelito punch (tasty!). One thing that was weird is that one of my friends ordered a wine pairing. He got a glass of rose with the first course, and then we got the second course, and the meats, and we literally had to call the waiter over to ask if there were more wines coming. To which, he simply said yes there'd be 3 more. He didn't seem to get the hint that he had failed at parsing them out timely. It still took a while for the next glasses to come out, so that was weird. Also, the wines weren't great, so I would recommend sticking with the cocktails. Love this new addition to Miami Beach. Restaurant is beautiful with a neutral interior and soft lighting. Service was efficient, waiter made good recommendations but you could tell he was upselling. Would have been way too much food if we would have listened to him. Food was delicious. Hummus and bread were perfect. The mushroom dish was my favorite. Also loved the tahini soft serve though a little too much salt. Definitely on the pricier side but it is the 1 Hotel. Publix parking 2 blocks south or you can valet. The nicest staff! We had a wonderful waiter and he was super helpful. He was a very positive part of my experience here. The vibes make you feel like a celebrity, and so does the service. They had super delicious vegan options that you can tell are well thought out in taste and presentation. Get the hummus and salatim! It was the perfect amount for 3 people. And the bread, on my gosh, the bread was delicious. Be careful to not fill up too fast on the bread. The mushroom dish was mentioned by multiple waiters as a favorite and they were so right! The place was very pretty. The food... more of a gimmick than authentic unique experience? We ordered the option with several appetizers and both cold and hot courses. The $95pp price was a bit steep for the amount and taste. Nothing other than the hummus (which was outstanding) impressed us too much. The biggest issue was the man course: everything was served way too cold. We did enjoy the dessert course. It was a very busy night and the restaurant was full so another night might have been better, but we were not impressed enough in comparison to Motek and Abbele. I'm always excited to try a new place and I knew this would be good at One Hotel. The ambiance and vibes around the bar were nice as soon as we walked in and the hostesses and bartenders were personable. When I say the food was so good that I have been rubbing about it all day. I can't wait to go back to try more menu items, but I had the smoked sweet potato with caviar and the Moroccan cigars. Chefs kiss is an understatement. The flavors were so bold and the Moroccan cigars melted in my mouth. I've never had that twist on a sweet potato, but I may not be able to eat it any other way now. I also enjoyed my cocktails. We had a nice dinner at Aviv. We started with cocktails, which were really great. We had salatim and the hummus, which I feel like you sort of have to get when you go there to really experience the place. And if you don't order the hummus, you don't get the delicious pita. We then had the dates which were by far my family's favorite, the squash, which was just OK, the brussels sprouts, which were delicious, and finally some chicken on a skewer. (It doesn't come with a skewer, but it's cooked on a skewer). It was super tender, and I was glad that the salatim was still on the table so I could mix bites with the chicken. It was very expensive. it's in the lobby of the one hotel so you sort of expect it. But it's still sort of sticker shock when you get the receipt. read more

We went to Aviv on their third night since opening and it exceeding our already very high expectations. We have been a huge Michael Solomonov fan visiting all of his Philly restaurants. If you've been to Philly, Aviv is like a nice balance between Laser Wolf and Zahav with a pinch of Miami added in. The ambience is very nice, with warm lighting, comfortable seating, and a nice open kitchen concept which invites you to check out whats going on. We had a party of 4, and we all order the $75 tasting menu which included 1 Hummus for the table, salatim, 4 mezze, 4 Al Ha'esh, and 4 desserts. Being a fan of Solomonov, my wife wanted to go with the traditional Hummus, which was as great as always, but our waitress was really nice and brought out the Turkish Hummis also, which was completely different and amazing. For one, it was hot hummus; two, it had a brown sugar base and crispy caramelized garlic chips. I ended up eating it with a spoon. The salatim is probably my favorite part of a Solomonov experience, with his double cooked eggplant being one of my favorite foods ever. The mezze came out next, and these are smaller appetizers, but so delicious. I've had Moroccan Cigars at other middle eastern restaurants but this one blew those away with flavor and not being overly greasy. The haloumi baklava could have easily been served as a dessert. The Blue Cobia Crudo tasted amazing, but was also presented really cool, in that they poured the sauce table side which "cooked" the fish. Lastly was the cauliflower, which was crunchy and flavorful, but light. I could've ended my meal with these and been happy spending $75, but then came the main courses. The Dorade was very good, but was a little spicy for me, and I probably wouldn't order that again, but only because I want to try everything else. Similarly, the Bulgarian Kebab was a delicious Middle Eastern Spiced Meatball, that I loved, but also wouldn't order next time, just so I can try the other entrees. The lamb merguez was my second favorite entree, which was more sausage tasting than lamb tasting, if that makes sense. #1 for everyone at the table was the Beef Shishlik which I could've just kept eating and eating. Wrapping it up, the desserts were where the Miami flavors came out. All 4 desserts were great. The Key Lime Knafe maybe could've had a little more key lime to it, and the brown sugar soft serve was the most vanilla of the dishes. The guava sorbet was light but creamy and had a nice guava tast, and it went very well with the Key Lime Knafe. The coconut malabi might have been my favorite dessert, but all were pretty close. The Malabi was like a yogurt with passionfruit pearls and shreds of dark chocolate. For drinks, I really enjoyed the Limonana which was wild turkey bourbon, lemon cordial, and mint. If they weren't $20, I could see myself drinking way too many of them. My wife and mother-in-law had the Pinot Noir from Cloudline and it was one of there all-time favorites. If you're still reading, I'm sure you have no doubt that I will be going again as soon as possible. I recommend booking on Resy. They validate valet parking at the 1 Hotel, but even with validation it was $30, so there are likely better options. read more

Had high expectations for Aviv based on reviews I'd seen. The food definitely met and maybe even exceeded them, but the service unfortunately left some to be desired. When I arrived, there were two women complaining to the hostess. Apparently, they didn't arrive on time or there was some sort of misunderstanding. There was some back and forth before it seemed that the hostess gave in and offered them a table inside the restaurant. Meanwhile, I was waiting for my table - which it appears was maybe given to the two women causing a stir. I was offered a table outside although my reservation was for inside, which initially was fine but after a few minutes at the table outside, I noticed a strong sewage smell and requested to be moved. Long story short: there were multiple times throughout the night that I had to ask for something more than once (from the hostess and our server), our server was friendly but very often absent. Maybe with a bit more service training, this restaurant would get five stars from me. The food was amazing but unfortunately the experience and inattentiveness of the staff made it less enjoyable than it should have been. read more

Including what appeared to be the manager. They were more concerned about preparing to close than us. Waited for acknowledgement, then asked for a cocktail and a menu. The manager asked someone else to help me. That took a few minutes. We asked for menus. Another 5 minutes. They never came back after the cocktail was served to ask for an order. Another 5 minutes. We dined at Aviv recently and were disappointed by how dietary restrictions and allergies were handled. At the start of the meal, our server proactively asked whether anyone at the table had dietary restrictions or allergies. We explained ours clearly at that time. Despite this, two dishes served to our table were prepared with oil, which was specifically part of the restrictions we disclosed. I noticed this during the meal but chose not to make an issue of it at the table, as I did not want to disrupt the experience for the others I was dining with. A manager did check in as we were preparing to leave, which I appreciated. However, since the bill had already been paid, the only resolution offered was a business card for a future visit. Given that this involved allergies and occurred during an expensive meal, that response felt insufficient. We chose Aviv based on its reputation and expected a higher level of care around allergy communication and recovery when mistakes happen. Aviv at 1 Hotel = wow. Just wow. Everything from the mezze platter to the decadent desserts was perfection. We ordered the dorado and wagyu shish kebab--both absolutely incredible. Honestly, the food was so good we forgot to take pics of the mains! The desserts were a whole experience on their own (don't skip them), and the cozy tea setup at the end was the cherry on top. Huge fan of Zahav and was expecting the same 5 star experience. Went last night, waited over 30 mins for my drinks and 45 mins for the hummus platter to come out. The bread was not even warm. The tuna appetizer with egg was amazing. Unfortunately the rest of meal went downhill. Cauliflower was very weak. Dorade was very fishy. Waited 30 mins again for waiter to come over and take our dessert order (which is included in the prefix). They ran out of 2 of the 4 desserts (the 2 we wanted). Waiter didn't apologize for taking so long to come take our order and running out. Didn't comp anything for the long waits or running out of dessert. This deserves a 1 star but I have so much respect for chef and Zahav that I'm giving it a 3. read more

Aviv is the south Floridian outpost of celebrity chefs Mike Solomonov and Steven Cook. Their most famous restaurant is Zahav in Philly. Attached to the 1hotel in south beach, this restaurant is nothing short of spectacular! From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with welcoming faces and warm attitudes. The vibe is boho chic with huge canvas lanterns floating from the ceiling. But the food is the real standout. We came here for my birthday celebration and since we were a large party, we had the opportunity to sample many of things off the menu. We ordered from the Tayim menu, while it's $85 seems high, you get a lot of food - think Miami spice on steroids! The salatim (mini salads) was varied and fresh! The eggplant spread was my favorite, the mushroom hummus with their in-house fresh pita was delicious. We also really enjoyed the crisp skin of the sweet potato with caviar, the halloumi baklava, the stuffed dates with Marconi almonds, the summer squash with freshly grated parmesan and the stuffed eggplant. For the main entree I had the Dorade - it's a white fish- simple, fresh and flavorful. The lamb shank was also very tender and seasoned well. The service was great, the manager and the chef made rounds to all the tables, welcoming all the patrons. I'm not one to write reviews, but this restaurant deserves all the credit owed! It was off to a bad start as soon as we arrived. It was the 2nd day they were open, so we can try and cut them a little slack. Front of house decided we had to sit outside and weren't particularly nice about it. We were told they were fully committed inside. Interesting, that we were there for 2 hours and there were a several tables inside that nobody sat at. The waitress didn't know they had regular ketchup and tried to serve our 5 year old spicy ketchup. A manager over heard my daughter asking where her fries were and offered to go inside and get us regular ketchup (which our daughter has with almost everything). This was a very lonely good part of this restaurant experience. The food was actually excellent, although everything took a long time to arrive. The manager made our experience far better after trying to help, although she didn't return with an explanation of why we weren't seated inside. Finally we walked away from the table to get our check as we hadn't seen our server for a long time. Another server stared to prepare our check which took about 10minutes and 3 or 4 people to prepare. By the time we got to our Uber, it had already left. All in all a very poor experience and we wont return. 1/10. read more

This restaurant is worth driving to the beach for! I made a reservation the minute they opened up. If you are a first timer order it TAYIM style. You will get to sample the best of the best and it will make for a full experience. Here is what we loved...moroccan cigars, sweet potatoes, wagyu shashlik and the key lime knafe. I love lamb but it served sausage style and wasn't my favorite but pretty tasty. Shout out to our fabulous team that displayed wonderful hospitality...Morocco, Mordechai and Boris. We had another server who was awesome but didn't catch his name. A few tips...valet is $25.00 with restaurant validation. Prior to dining we received a text saying no open toed shoes. When I called the reiterated this. We went with closed toed shoes and noticed many diners had open toed shoes. This is a hard ask in Miami on the beach where we usually wear sandals to dinner. I am guessing they don't turn people away but would like a little clarification on it. read more
