For a "smoke free fleet" the vehicle I received couldn't be more disgusting. I went back after a few days to switch and they didn't have anything else. Also, pretty sure the stain/debris on the drivers side door is caked on vomit. Their customer service is useless, you can never talk to the location you are dealing with and if you run into any issues you have to go to that location. They also told me that bc I didn't share the insurance information when I rented the car, I couldn't have my agency billed. I have a rental through Avis for Uber. I contacted the branch I rented from to inquire about a headlight that is out and was rerouted to the National line. After explaining what I was calling for, being cold transferred to wait 10 minutes on hold to speak to someone in a different department, I was erroneously instructed I could go to any Avis location for the repair. Upon arrival at the Grove St. Worcester location, Jason was very understanding of the situation. Even though he does not service the Uber segment of Avis at his location, he still took the time out to make multiple phone calls to help resolve my issue. Upon learning there are no local service areas and no alternate cars available, he even went above and beyond and asked the Regional Manager if I could be serviced at his local shop and billed directly to Avis, which she accommodated. As rideshare is my only source of income, I cannot express how grateful I am for Jason's determination in helping me when he could have easily sent me on my way. After experiencing less than stellar customer service even through Avis's National Customer Service Call Center, Jason made my day and saved me from being stressed out. Don't rent from this place! Was double charged for over 3 weeks. Had to get ahold of corporate to get this mattered resolved. UBER should cut ties with this location. Jason was extremely rude to myself and my wife because he didn't know how to resolve a situation that another worker created got frustrated and kicked me out the store now my account is negative over 400 bucks. He claimed to be the manager and that's how we was treated. This place should be investigated and should be put under new management! Oh p.s customer service gave me 3 days free and Jason refused to let me cash in on free rental and erased my credit card (chime major credit card) from there system so I couldn't re rent car again and told me to leave the store again Now where am I suppose to get my Uber rental from? Business Rental - 02/04/2021 - 02/15/2021 Drove - Worcester, MA to Lynchburg, VA (roundtrip) + business miles in Lynchburg Highly recommend AVIS in Worcester over Hertz. I've used both in 2020/2021 for business trips. Pros · Vehicle Choice - I was able to get an SUV with an AWD or 4WD system to accommodate my 600 mile (1 way) winter business trip. · Vehicle Delivery - I was able to get the vehicle dropped off to me at my apartment. Since I live alone, that was quite a help and a service not offered by my local Hertz office. Cons · Vehicle Pickup - MIxup - I was able to get the vehicle dropped off to me at my apartment, however, the pickup of the vehicle at my apartment after my trip did not occur as arranged. The AVIS office did not make this note in my account/reservation even though I have an email from my travel agent confirming the arrangement. · Windshield Wiper Fluid - Windshield wiper fluid was not checked/refilled prior to my rental. I purchased a bottle of winter windshield fluid when I filled the gas tank prior to my departure and a little over the 1 gallon bottle was used to refill the windshield wiper fluid reservoir. This is a big deal with a long, winter journey on snowy roads. I informed the office (business owner) when I returned the car. · Damage Report - At time of Rental - The car's damage report at the time of rental was not completed and delivered to me. In my walkaround of the vehicle I noted several areas with dents and/or scratches. I called the office who confirmed they had the notes on file for the car. This is a big deal as I could have been help responsible. I informed the office (business owner) when I returned the car. Vehicle Review · Vehicle - Mitsubishi Outlander Pros - Performed very well. Lumbar support was excellent. Good visibility; big deal with busy highway traffic and when reverse parking. - Hood & Windshield Wiper Reservoir - easy to open hood and use hood support. Easy to locate, open and fill, reservoir. - Decent gas mileage - Able to shut off all the automatic driving stuff (lane alarm, close vehicle alarm, etc.) Cons - Gas Cover Release - not very visible - Windshield Wiper Fluid Spray - Front Was not very good, wasted fluid since it pooled below wiper blade. read more

BEWARE. The Avis at Worcester airport ... rarely staffed ... and they charge you for GAS even when you return the tank exactly how it was when you got it. I picked up a car there with 3/4 of a tank of gas. I returned it with 3/4 tank ... and they charged me over $20! I had to call and complain, provide my receipt info for gas I'd purchased, etc. They are complete criminals trying to nickle/dime honest customers! read more

I have rented cars from every rental company out there. I travel for work and spend 3 weeks every month on the road. Never have I had a better experience!! I've never been to the Worcester area before but Jen was so nice and accommodating. She was able to get me a bigger car since I had way more luggage than I expected to have, she recommended a few great places to eat and highlighted some things worth seeing in the area as well. The rental transaction itself took less than 10 minutes but I'm pretty sure we spent double that chatting about the area. Ended up here looking for a car for my family's trip to Lennox. At the beginning we were stuck with the employee, Kevin. What a hot mess. Kevin had less than 0 energy or urgency to help us. We were standing in the parking lot for 25 minutes waiting for a car that was supposedly reserved for us. Fortunately another gentlemen came and helped us out. Kevin is very bad though. I had an emergency Saturday night and knew I would need a car on Sunday am. I quickly made a reservation on line and secured a car from this location. It was for a full week rental. I was scheduled to pick up the car at 11:00 a.m. . From 8:00 until 11:00 I attempted to contact the local branch. They never answered the phone. I wanted to confirm the size of the car and what type of vehicle I would be picking up as the selection said the vehicle would fit five people and was listed as a Kia soul or equivalent. I arrived at the car rental office and was greeted by a man clearly did not want to be working. He took my information and told me that I was getting a Kia forte and then if I didn't like that I could take my business elsewhere. I simply had said to him that a Kia soul was a very different vehicle than a sedan. I understood it was what the car company considers the same size. The Man behind the counter indicated that I should have booked this long before the behavior of the rental agent. read more

I made a reservation for a compact car rental to be picked up at noon on May 12. When I arrived, I was told they were waiting for my car to arrive and otherwise had "no cars." I asked when the car would be there and was told in about five minutes. Well five turned into 10 which turned into 20 before a car arrived that I was told was my rental. (When I asked the agent a second time about the delay in getting a car for me, he was rude instead of apologetic!). After waiting for the car, instead of a compact, I told I was getting an SUV, which was larger than was comfortable for me. I'm only 5' 2" and it was hard to see over the steering wheel and harder to park and maneuver. That's fine though. They didn't charge me for an upgrade so I left with that car. But after checking my credit card bill, I saw an extra $40 in charges that were never mentioned - all fees that I was not aware of. Aren't they supposed to go over these when they give you a car? Then on top of that, the Avis on the other end in Hartford charged me another $26.00 for gas even though I returned it full. For the amount of miles I drove - less than 150 - this was an expensive and unwelcome experience! I will not do business with Avis again! read more
