STAY AWAY!! On Saturday June 1st, 2019, my friends and I rented a car through budget. We picked up the car from this location in Worcester at 3:00pm. The rental agreement was purchased through Hotwire along with the car insurance. Upon arrival, the staff at the location was preparing to close for the day although I had an appointment to pick up the car between 3-4pm. The gentlemen began processing my paperwork was moving quickly through the process. When it was time to provide me with the car, the gentlemen gave me the vehicle without completing a walk through. Due to this not being our first time renting a car, my friend requested a walk through prior to taking the vehicle out of the lot. During the walk through, the exterior of the vehicle looked fine so we expected to be in good shape. After finalizing all of the paper work and driving the car out of the lot, we drove about 10 mins away from Budget and the car began to stall while driving it. Long story short after further investigation, the inside of the car which budget allowed us to drive off with was corroded with fluid and was causing the car to stall, not start and not be able to drive even up the road. Budget then took 6 hours to bring a replacement vehicle which ended up having even more issues than the first vehicle when the tire pooped while driving on the highway. Budget was neglect full in every sense of it all from the faulty vehicles they allowed us to drive off with as well as their attention to the serious matters at hand. They are NOT worth the headache and should honestly go out of business. I would not recommend Budget to anyone out there. PLEASE BEWARE! read more

We took a cab from Webster to Worcester, after reserving a rental online.the rental was prepaid for $230 by credit card! may I start by saying that when we walked into the place of business, the gentleman behind the counter was anything but professional and customer oriented. He started by asking for my license, and immediately told us by shoving a piece of white paper on the counter we were not able to get the rental. I proceeded, to ask why? he said, because of license restriction on night driving. I explained to him I'm not going to be driving, my son is he has a permit. I also explained to him that I had a valid license, I just was not to drive at night. I would be driving during the daytime. Then he had a problem with the way my son paid for the rental car. This gentleman has lack of professionalism, and lack of communication, with a customer. I have never in all my years been treated so poorly by anyone in a store business! We sat down, waited for a cab to come pick us up. Meanwhile, he proceeded to patronize my son, while we sat in the lobby waiting for our cab. I explained to him that we did not need to talk about it we were waiting for a cab. The employee, proceeded to tell us to leave out into the pouring down rain to wait for the cab! What a great value we got at Budget!!! Ok...we needed a car to drive to Logan one way. I called another place and they wanted a ridiculous amount ($150) JUST TO GO TO LOGAN!!! But I called Budget and WOW!! 30 BUCKS!!! I even asked....ok what's the catch?? nope no catch he says! Too good to be true huh?? I thought so too! I booked it and picked it up the day of our flight. We packed our cute car and took off. The second we got out of our street, the car seemed to be dying. I couldn't believe it! By the time we got on the highway, it was sputtering. This car only had 659 miles on it and it was dying?? I told John to take the next exit and drive to Budget...this car will NOT be making it to Boston. They wanted to know where we were and I told them driving down the street they were on and we braked for the red light and the car died and never started again....in less than 2 minutes they were right next to us and transferring our luggage right on the street, handed us the keys and said GO!! We will take care of this dead car. I swear it didn't take us more than 2 minutes to get another car! We got to Boston and we brought it in and we only paid 19 bucks for it due to the aggravation of the other car! How can you not love them!!!! We were given a car with a scratch and not informed about it so that when we returned at a different location they blamed us for the scratch- which we know we didn't do because we were in the car the entire time between the two locations. This is really irresponsible and maddening. The staff In Worcester, MA were a little shady and I think they did it on purpose. I think they did the scratch themselves and saw an opportunity that we were returning at another location to try to pin it on us. They're didn't do a walk through on the car with us before we left the lot and the way he parked it seemed funny at the time - I now see he was trying to hide the scratch. I have rented many cars for many years and have always had good experiences from National and Enterprise. This time I tried Budget. What a mistake! I rented a 2015 Intermediate car yesterday for 6 days beginning in 5 days. I was given a quote by Jesse, which included all fees, taxes, etc, and my AAA discount, of $238 and an additional $65 for a second driver. I was told the total was $307. I gave a credit card number to pre-pay for the car, and an email address, and was told I would receive an email. I was not given a confirmation number, but would receive that in the email. The email never came. I called hours later and found out that Jesse had not gotten the email address correctly, so Vladimir confirmed that I had pre-paid and said he would resend the email. It never arrived. This morning I called again, talked to Valentin who finally got the email address corrected and sent me the confirmation. The confirmation total was $450.86! Not the $307 I had been told. They had no explanation. I called customer service, and after talking to Cynthia, then Cesar, then Kayla, then Tammy, I finally got customer service. They said essentially that I was just out of luck (no apology for the incorrect quote), and did I have documentation as to the $307 price? I said I did not, because I never received the email. They did not seem to care in the least and I got no customer satisfaction. I will never rent from this company again. read more

Such a terrible experience with their customer service. After not getting the correct truck for a move that we booked online, (of course they didn't have the right one available after realizing they gave us the wrong one), we decided we would rent from somewhere else. They told us we would get the hold fee of $105 back within 24-48 hours. Not so much. After not getting it back 2.5 weeks later, we decided to call and ask what was taking to long. Their answer? Literally..."It's not our problem, it's your bank." So we checked with our bank and after researching it, they said no, Budget had placed a 3 week hold on the funds. (I later found out that the exact same thing happened with a colleague of mine) That's a ridiculously long amount of time, no? Anyway, it wasn't a big deal...at least would be getting our money back at some point. My husband had to call their customer service line back to give them more information, and when we asked to speak to a supervisor, the girl replied "We don't have any here." How is that possible? He asked if there is ANYONE else he could talk to and she, again, literally said, "No, sorry. You can leave your information and someone may get back to you within 24-48 hours. But they probably won't call back because they don't usually call about releasing deposit funds." Seriously? We were speechless. She was the most UNPROFESSIONAL, rude "customer support" individual we have ever encountered. She barely listened to us, kept cutting us off with "I can't help you, there is nothing else I can do" and pretty much hung up on us. When we called back for a 4th time, (yes, seriously), we got a nicer person who, suprise suprise! was able to connect us with a supervisor. He looked into the matter and saw that yes, it was Budget who had put the hold on the funds for 3 weeks. He was apologetic and we appreciated that, but we were more upset with how we were treated by the others we had spoken to up until that point. It's not about the money, it's about "customer service" providing anything BUT customer service. I decided to share our experience by emailing their corporate office and their response? An automated email stating, "Thank you for your feedback. Our records show your problem was resolved."...I am speechless. I work in customer service and if my organization ever treated our customers that way...let's just say it would never happen. In today's world where consumers have many options for services and much of our decisions are based on service/experience, companies should do whatever they can to provide excellent customer support. Let's just say that I would NEVER, EVER use Budget again and am beyond appalled at what they call "customer service". read more
