We explained at airport counter and again at location in Goodyear. We returned the car within 2 hours and Avis at the Hampton Inn charged us $120. When we asked to keep car they said they couldn't cancel the return. So we left car there paying $120 to drive for 2 hours. Horrible customer service in everyway. Both agent at airport and Caby Welsh Store Manager at Hampton Inn. Sometimes families ARE the exception (do not fit the box) WE DID NOT KNOW OUR MYSTERY CAR WAS ALM ELECTRIC- but nit even slight accommodation given for the difficulty of managing an electric car for someone with mental/developmental disabilities. Called and explained to both locations but they both refused to adjust our reservation. They did not even try to arrange for a solution at all. Their motto is not even close to being accurate. Never again AVIS.

He had no manners, even for a salesman. He was wayyyy to sleazy. He tried to get us to sign papers BEFORE even seeing interest rates, prices, and all that jazz. He wasn't helpful with explaining the papers and he left a lot of stuff out. Rent a center makes their money on pricing their products 400% higher than on the market. So be careful. It sounds nice to only pay $12 a week for 3 years. But you'll end up paying wayyyy too much. This store particularly was just so rude and I'm very grateful we saw through their scheme. I totally understand they are sales people. But definitely not good at their job.

Historically, I've always used competitors so was a bit leery using National and not sure about the service, quality, etc. National Car Rental in Phx exceeded all of my expectations! To start off with, Joy at the counter was super friendly and helpful! I had just had a rough disembarkation (because we had to wait for an open gate) but she was quick to help and get me on my way, with clear instructions that the next person would help me get my vehicle and with the understanding, friendliness, customer service we don't always see anymore. When I reached the parking lot, I was told I could choose any vehicle between the rows I was told. I couldn't believe it. The selection was incredible! I couldn't help but think I'd be charged more because I booked a smaller vehicle but ended up choosing a smaller SUV. Nope, same price. The Jeep Compass was clean, worked perfectly and was a great fit for my visit. Checking back in was also super friendly and efficient. After a quick greeting and check of the vehicle, Aiden made sure I was happy with my vehicle, if I had any questions, concerns, how it could've been better, etc. I've rented from others before where I was told to just throw the keys on the dash and that was the end of our interaction. National made the effort for a friendly, customer-driven experience every chance they had to ensure a high level of satisfaction. I didn't download the app or become a member because I wasn't sure it'd be worth it but if every National Rental Car is as friendly and accommodating as the PHX Airport site, I think I may have a new favorite car rental company!     Based on my Yelp photos, I've rented here a couple of times and I have to say, for an experience…read morethat can usually be very painful (renting a car, that is), the team at National Car Rental at PHX do a great job. Most recently, I rented a car for a week and after taking the train to the rental car center, I was able to skip the desk and head straight to the Emerald Aisle to pick any available car. I would highly recommend setting up an account with National and taking advantage of this.... being able to skip a line at the counter is a blessing. In any event, we went to the aisle, picked out our car and were off after a brief stop at the gate to check everything. Return was also quick and painless. Josh did a thorough inspection of the car, which we returned with a full tank and in pristine shape, and we were on our way in no time. It's amazing how frictionless the experience can be, as opposed to how awful other companies (I'm looking at you Hertz) can make it. I highly recommend National.
