I had a total 5-star experience from start to finish with this local Hertz. I rented a car over the holidays and intentionally avoided the airport as I know that adds all sorts of costs to the rental. This Hertz had my vehicle ready at pick up on time and didn't keep me waiting on the return either. Hats off to Yvette who approached every part of her job with a smile and a friendly tone. read more

Terrible rental company. Never, ever again. They rented me a vehicle with some deep scratches on the rear bumper and tried to blame me. I was totally harassed by the turn in guys both of who could barely speak a word of English so could not understand me hardly at all. Thank goodness I'd taken a photo of this when I picked the car up. Basically I had to prove my innocence. It was humiliating. Hertz is a garbage outfit, a shadow of what it once was. I'll stick to Alamo from now on. Lesson learned. read more

I showed up for my rental that I reserved and was told they had no vehicles available and had to wait a couple or drive to the surprise location. Employees very unprofessional will never return read more

Called this location at about 4:21pm to ask a quick question about reserving a vehicle. Someone named Yvette or Yvonne answered the phone and asked if I could hold for 1 minute, I said sure. I turn speaker phone on, put my phone down and went back to some work on the computer. Forgot that I was even on hold and I happened to look down at my phone and the call timer was at 22:37...I had been on hold this entire time. Guess they don't need my business. read more

I had a bad experience , while I was in there this lady Yvette couldn't stop talking about her boss who hired some old bag she said . So had bad taste in my mouth. She told us one price in person and when I called to do extension she told me it would be same price . Than when I called to chk what total price she told me some crazy price like 1300 for two weeks . She than said you got a problem call billing . I did and supervisor was saying she is not right for that , we have fixed it . She never took Off the hold on my card as well . She is very sneaky and fraudulent, the way she was acting it was like talking to complete evil Person . Now we took car back and she was like leave it there I'm Busy . My wife asked her please make sure the hold is off. Also when billing fixed what she tried to charge it was a 600 dollar difference. She is doing something fraudulent I can't proove it but there's something going on. She works at the hertz 6409'w Glendale . Please do not use that office ,there is many issues . When I was in there a customer and her boss had to yell at her .. she acts like she didn't do nothing and over speaks when you try to explain . Could be on drugs . I will call hertz tomorrow billing about my hold she never took off! read more

I made an online reservation for 5pm, I got a Lyft to the rent place and got there a couple minutes before 5pm. I called ahead and said I'd be there for my 5pm reservation. The single employee working said she's locking the doors at 4:59. When I arrived at 4:57 the door was locked and a second person was outside dealing with the same situation. I then called customer service and they told me to just Uber to a new location. That Uber would have been $60. Mind you it's 107 degrees outside and the employee wasn't allowing anyone into the store because she decided to leave a few minutes early then closing hours. Enterprise is just a few blocks away. I called and they called a Lyft for me just for HERTZ inconvenience. Don't waste your time on this horrible company. They DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS! read more

Seems like a lot of customers have run into the same problem as myself with this location. Reserved ahead of time - A Large SUV fully paid for in advance. Only to show up and be told that there was no Large SUV's available. I was offered a downgrade to a smaller vehicle which made no sense as we needed a vehicle that could cater our 7 passenger family. Asked to cancel the reservation instead as they did not have the vehicle I had reserved and I was told I may still be charged a no show fee and gave me a number to contact billing to assist with it. Not happy. Went to Enterprise a couple streets over on 75th Ave & Cactus and they were able to assist me same day in less than 45 minutes. Needless to say I'll be using the Enterprise location in the future from now on. read more

Terrible. Do not rent from here. Take your business and your money elsewhere or risk being charged for bogus fees. We visited family with dogs and apparently tracking dog hair into the vehicle from clothes and shoes merits a $150 cleaning fee. Never in my life have I returned a rental car, even from the BEACH, and had to pay a cleaning fee. This is nickel and dime type of business. Of course, no Hertz representative replied to any of my attempts to contact either. I'd steer clear from this place. After completing a survey and being assured I'd be contacted, still nothing to give an explanation as to how this stand alone location operates differently than every single other rental car facility I've dealt with in the last fifteen years. read more

doesn't even deserve one star !!! booked a rent. pick up was at 5pm I got there at 5:04 and worker was yelling at me through the door they close at 5pm and I was 4 mins late . therefore, she would not open the door. I told her all my reservation was at five. Why would they give me a reservation? If you guys are going to be closed did not care and continued to yell at me through the door this is not the first time I have had an issue with this worker. I had rented another vehicle about six months ago and when I went, she was nothing but rude to me. This location has very poor customer service and that worker needs to be fired. read more

Had a reservation for a noon pick up. Got there at noon, walked into the office and was sternly told to leave that they were closed. Why in the hell do you allow a noon pick up for a week long rental if you aren't going to let someone pick it up at noon. She said my only option was to cancel and that I'm out of luck. I was left standing in the parking lot with no car and no transportation. Nothing. At all. I can't get a refund. Hertz says my rental is already in process and won't cancel or modify. I can't even move the reservation to another location. Absolutely devastated and I have no car other than an uber pick up now. read more

This hertz did me dirty. They charged me for gas when I brought the gas tank full to them, I called them back and they said sorry it was the telemetry on the call giving false signals and we will give you a refund. 3 weeks later no refund. They charged me $160 for nothing!!! read more

RENTERS BE ADVISED. if you can get your vehicle from any other location or provider I suggest you do. I have dealt with this place three times and it's been unpleasant each time. The wait was over 3 hours. my car was given away. There is usually only one person working. You have to have a certain type of credit card to rent. Normal business hours only as well. Not like the airport flexible hours. read more

I recently had a fantastic experience renting a car at Hertz - Angie was exceptional! Angle went above and beyond to help me. I ran late for my pickup and didn't have my ID so while I waited for my husband to return with it Angie patiently answered my questions and ensured me that I was not a bother or inconvenience. This was my first experience with renting outside of airport car rentals and I will say Hertz Glendale has a new regular customer. I will take all my business here moving forward... thanks to Angie. Angie is truly a standout example of excellent customer care. If I could give Angie 10 stars I would. read more

Ridiculous!!! Absolutely mind blowing how dumb these people are! Trying to push damage from a previous rental onto me is pathetic! We walked around the car for 20min and noted everything! Hertz - Damaged before I used the car noted with their agent before delivery. - Car Rental Near Me - Glendale, Arizona

I made reservation online. I went down to the location to pick up the vehicle when the lady at the counter told me that they purposely overbooked by 20% and that they had no vehicle. When I inquired about the few that were still on the lot I was told they were waiting to be picked up by other customers that made reservations. They refused to assist in anyway other than to ask me to leave. One and a half stars they are overrated. Will not ever reserve a car with thrifty or Hertz. Action has shown me that they do not care about their customers. read more

Renter beware. If possible do not rent from Hertz or any other place that is associated with them. I just rented a vehicle from them, they failed to inform me that they had no vehicles available until I showed up to pick up the car. This was the (Glendale Az) location, after calling around they tracked down a vehicle at the Goodyear location for me, great! so I thought, Hertz made me contact their own customer service go through almost an hour of nonsense with the middle east (location of the call center) I was charged all over again even though I had already paid at the Glendale location finally received a smaller car 2 hours later, basically Hertz treated me like crap even though they were the ones at fault, to top it off they didn't even let me use their restroom to take a leak that was the cake topper for me. Renters consider using someone else, next time I'll try Turo. Now I see why Hertz filed for bankruptcy. One star is just to allow me to leave the review. read more

I had a excellent experience today at this facility. I came in to rent a one way vehicle, which understandably is hard to sue given the Super Bowl is weeks away. My rental initially showed a mid size vehicle but due to being part of the Gold Plus membership I was to get an upgrade. She graciously found a car to upgrade me too and because it had just been returned asked that I wait while it was cleaned. She noticed I was sitting at the local coffee shop and brought me the keys. Awesome service and sad others didn't get the same experience. I wouldn't hesitate to rent from here again. read more

Negative stars should be a thing just for this Hertz. I downloaded Yelp, which I hate, just to review this dumpster fire of a business. The woman we dealt with is the laziest, rudest poor excuse for an employee I think I've ever encountered, and I'm including McDonald's, so you know it's bad, Jack! Minor vacuuming and cleaning is expected of the rental agency when returning a car but they threatened to charge us $75 to vacuum a small amount of pet hair on the floor and some crumbs on the seat. It took us $5 to vacuum everything they called "excessive" debris. Awful, awful, awful. Do not go here. Be warned: read more

If I could give it 0 stars I would. I have rented from this specific Hertz close to 20 times because it is always no hassle. One time my vehicle even smelled like marijuana and I was super nice and drove back because I was afraid they would ding me for it, but they said they had already noted it (don't ask me why they rented a car that smelled like that, but ok). Back to the issue, whoever the two women working on June 25th at noon were horrific. I've rented from here because I don't have a credit card, nor do I want one, and I am ok paying the extra fees for a debit card. I had booked the car yesterday but the Hispanic lady was aggressive and said she pulled all rentals this morning. She eventually found my reservation but still insisted it didn't meet their 24 hour policy and wouldn't let me rent the vehicle without a credit card. I even had the email showing I had reserved the night before. Meanwhile while I am trying to locate information on my phone, the white lady who works there was cussing and talking to the lady who "helped" me about which manager to call about a different customer's reservation referencing the managers as grinches. It was overall a disgusting experience since I had been such a loyal customer. How the employees conducted themselves was also disgusting and I don't mind taking my business somewhere else if that means paying triple the price. I wouldn't want those woman to be the face of my business. And if you had plenty of cars, and I had the reservation email showing it contradicted your timeframe- just rent the car. But I guess Hertz isn't in business to make money. read more

Do not rent here. We prepaid and when we couldn't check in on line we went to the counter. Our rental was prepaid and we were told the dollar amount to be charged would be removed up one return. No it wasn't - they outright lied and added unwanted LDW (loss insurance) a big money maker for them to our contract. We also had to put up with continuing up sale talk the whole time. When we finally got our car location we were told we could pick any Escape available. Well, that was one beat up black Escape that had 45k on it and wasn't clean inside. Still had the prior renters trash in the door cupholders. When we returned the car and found out about the bait and switch the people at return didn't look surprised and just let us know we had to call the 800 number. Still waiting for a call back as we dispute the charge. read more

Poor customer service by the lady at the customer service desk. Unresponsive and inattentive. Very rude.

This Hertz is terrible. The agent when I checked in stayed on a personal call for over 10 min and I was the only one in the office. I booked my car for pick up after 10:30a and came in at noon. She told me I was lucky she didn't rent my car and she only needs to hold for an hour. When I returned again with no one there she told me to have a seat. I said I am just dropping off. She said I can put the key in the box but it will not get checked until tomorrow, it was 9am??? Terrible attitude, terrible service. read more

Car dealership referred me as I had vehicle repairs, it was called in Thursday but I didn't get call from Hertz until Monday. Angela left message that a vehicle was ready for me to pick up. When I arrived Angela was talking on phone & didn't acknowledge me but when another customer came in & wanted to just leave keys like she expressed doing so in past, Angela said no & stated I was first so we both waited for her to complete her call. Angela stated she never left a message for me but later said she did. She was very rude so I asked to speak to someone else but she said no one else could help me. Another employee came in & helped other customer who just wanted to return vehicle. After doing all paperwork, giving my credit card, license & insurance information, Angela took me to vehicle which was dirty so I requested another vehicle & questioned why she left message that vehicle was ready. She did not respond. She stated no other vehicles available. The vehicle had out of state license & front license plate was damaged. They refused to give me a written notice when I decided to cancel whole transaction so I had to call dealership service to report negative experience. I did submit a complaint to Hertz Corporate Office. I did not want to give a one star rating as nothing was positive about whole experience. read more

Zero stars if I could and for good reason. I prepaid 2 months in advance for a luxury vehicle and even stopped in to make sure it would available one week in advance. I also called two days in advance and was told they'd have my vehicle only for them to offer me a mini van and throw their arms up saying that's all we can do when I came to pick up the rental and head to California. Terrible service. Long wait for the car. Did not provide pick up service that was agreed to on the web site and with Hertz customer service. The woman at the desk was rude and used fear and intimidation to try to sell unnecessary insurance. The manage stated to me " yes, she is crabby". The AAA discount was only at 6% of the daily fee. This was the worst experience I have ever had. I reserved a Mid Size SUV for our rental car and we received a Subcompact car. Not to mention the gas tank wasn't ever full!! We purposely paid extra for a bigger vehicle just to get screwed over! The manager was the one helping me & she refused to give me a bigger car. She was rude and had awful customer service. Was the absolute worst experience when we came to get our car that we had called an hour in advance for... the woman at the front desk took forever, gave us a car with a broken key fob and didn't put my husband on the reservation when we asked almost walked out with no car until the manager said it was possible to add him on the reservation When we went to return the car that took forever, the woman said that our weeklong reservation Had another reservation that supposedly just made itself. As a cherry on top of the whole situation the woman has the absolute worst attitude. she was extremely rude the whole time and then the manager came in they were talking about how dirty a car was returned and they didn't charge him gas or cleaning fee then she started to try to joke with us after the manager was there. Yet they charged us 75$ cleaning fee.. We were silent. We will never come here again. So unprofessional and unwelcoming. If I could give 0 stars I would.. read more
