I rent from the Avis/Budget team at this site nearly every week for my job travels. The team is always very polite & very accommodating. In addition, the office staff is has always on site to their published office hours. The technicians who clean & service the cars always does a fantastic job of maintaining the cleanliness of the cars & maintains the proper fluid levels and air pressure on the tires. Horrible. Customer service was non existent. Would not accommodate someone who experiences disability regarding the difficulty in having an all electric car. (It was a mystery car!!??) We explained at airport counter and again at location in Goodyear. We returned the car within 2 hours and Avis at the Hampton Inn charged us $120. When we asked to keep car they said they couldn't cancel the return. So we left car there paying $120 to drive for 2 hours. Horrible customer service in everyway. Both agent at airport and Caby Welsh Store Manager at Hampton Inn. Sometimes families ARE the exception (do not fit the box) WE DID NOT KNOW OUR MYSTERY CAR WAS ALM ELECTRIC- but nit even slight accommodation given for the difficulty of managing an electric car for someone with mental/developmental disabilities. Called and explained to both locations but they both refused to adjust our reservation. They did not even try to arrange for a solution at all. Their motto is not even close to being accurate. I don't think the words 'customer service' exist in Budget's vocabulary. Had a horrible experience in which the car they gave me had a coolant leak and as we made our way to our destination, was overheating. I was asked by their roadside assistance to go buy coolant for it. "Sure, let me go do this while I'm supposed to be enjoying my family vacation". Bought coolant and watched it pour right out of the giant crack in the reservoir. Yep, pretty sure this won't fix it. Now can I have a replacement car? Yes I can, but since there are NO cars at any close locations I will have to go nearly 40 miles to the airport to pick it up. Sure, let me spend ANOTHER day of my family vacation doing that and missing out on the scheduled plans we had 'cuz you know driving around California in rush hour traffic doesn't take long at all...I would really enjoy that much more (not). Not to mention having to wait around all day for the tow truck for the broken down vehicle while they kept pushing back the pickup time and being on the phone for HOURS...talk about memorable family fun! Was told I would get a partial refund for "inconvenience" and here I am 2 weeks later and still no refund. They were sure quick to get their money though and had the nerve to charge my card another $49.43 for 'net charges' after the car return, which no one can explain and every time I call get told a different story of what that's for. DO. NOT. risk the headache. Rent your car somewhere else. Even the employees we spoke with at the rental counters very willingly stated customer service does not exist in this company and they do not care!! read more

I have rented a car from Avis in Goodyear at least five times and it has always been a superb experience. Always get a great car, easy to add an additional driver, easy to drop off, and polite & helpful employees. Also, so much easier to get it here than the airport. I rented from this location three times since landing in Phoenix on September 3. I really needed a vehicle for a date and I was going to be late to this a Avis so I called to see if they would be able to wait for me even a little after 5 PM when they close and Kathy had answered and reassured me that although she had a chiropractor appointment immediately after work, she will wait for me and eventually I had arrived at 4:58 PM and she was still there and I was able to rent a vehicle. Although I don't know about the other employees, I recommend this place because of Kathy. read more

I'm always disappointed in Avis. First I arrived 15 min early for my reservation. The employee acted like I arrived an hour early. I was provided with a nice EV car and told that I would be charged $35 if I did not bring it back 95% charged. Off I went...they took all the charging devices AWAY from the car, called customer service and was told, bring it back for a gas car. Called again and was told, there is no charger adapter for this car it's not a Tesla. I'm not new to EV cars, this was deliberately not disclose/discussed and then they could not have cared less. read more

Made a reservation and then came in the next day to pick it up for a trip and they had no cars. So I was out of luck as they put it. Horrible service!!! Rep replied in a snarky tone, "well you if made your reservation sooner and we are NOT the airport, we don't have a garage full of cars". This Avis Outpost, charged me for a two day rental, luckily I had my gas receipt that had time and date I refilled and also my Uber record that I had departed the location at the time I said. I didn't find out about the charge till it appeared on my credit card statement. Hard to believe that a company would allow this type of behavior. read more

Kathy was really pleasant as well as the gentleman working in the lot when I picked up the rental. The car itself was mediocre and ended up having some mechanical issues, but that's not their fault if people don't let them know. It's a convenient location with a much easier pick-up process than the airport. Just make sure that you're happy with your car before you go! read more

This was my pick up location, drop off location was in Tucson. First, the employee was uninviting and was not wearing a mask. Secondly, the full-size car I requested was not available so I was upgraded to an SUV for free - I thought that was great. However, the employee knowingly gave me a car that was dirty. I didn't think it would be as dirty as it was. The car was so dirty (See pictures) and had a bad odor! Almost as if people had taken a really long road trip in it and nobody bothered to disguise the odors or clean up. I was in a hurry and had no time to go back inside and ask for a different vehicle. The employee mentioned that the car had been sanitized, but not cleaned so it may look "dusty".. there were stains all over the seats and sticky stains on the steering wheel - I had to sanitize everything myself because at that point I didn't trust that the car had even been sanitized... i also had to put a cover on the backseats. When moving a seat forward, I found soiled baby's clothing! The car rentals I usually get from third parties are from enterprise and I've never had this problem with them. Their cars are usually spotless and smell new. Renting cars should be a comfortable, trusting and safe experience, but this was not. I will not be renting from budget again, especially not from this location. I can't believe I paid over $70 for a very uncomfortable experience. I thought maybe the drop off location would offer some sort of a refund but all they did was apologize. read more

Also had to pay extra for upgrading because they did not have any intermediate cars clean. ... I tried to rent a car with Budget at the location inside Hampton Inn on Litchfield Rd using a debit card. I prepaid for the rental and had to pay an Uber to get there, expecting to be able to pick up the car since I had a reservation and it's prepaid for the day. I have no problem with them holding a deposit on my card but they tell me I'm not approved to rent the car. Why can't they verify or prescreen before you go there? It's a loss of time and money. I will say the employee at the desk was helpful and empathized with the situation and provided me with the 800 customer service line to get a refund. The only other thing I would suggest is that if they see it's a debit card being used, don't tell the customer what car your getting till they know for sure the rental will be approved. They need to make the process easier before a customer gets there and is turned away. After this issue with Budget rent a car, I called Enterprise rental and they came to the Hampton inn and picked me up and I had no issues with them renting with my debit card and in fact they upgraded me to a new car that only had 600 miles on it and was a wonderful experience with them. I know who to go to now for future car rentals. read more

I needed to rent a suv for a couple weeks and found this locations to be the best pricing through Costco travel. So I called the day before to see if they knew what vehicle I would be getting but since it was a really busy time they weren't sure because the airport location had to drop it off the day of. I ended up calling the day of pickup and they said it had been delivered and ready to pickup. I went to the location very easy to find inside the Hampton inn hotel and had no wait and was in and out in minutes , Cathy helped me and was very friendly and nice. I then got in the car and headed home , when I got home to load up the car I noticed tons of dog hair and food wrappers throughout the suv . I know this was not this locations fault as the airport had delivered it this way so I did have to clean it myself . Overall the car was brand new only 3000 miles and was fully loaded with all the bells and whistles. I will definitely rent through this location again because it was an overall good experience and Cathy was able to help out with pricing due to the dirty car. This is much more convenient then driving to the airport for me. read more

Overcharged me after a glitchy automated extension by phone. Multiple long phone calls and they just give me the run-around. I submitted customer service message online and only get messages that they cannot decider due to technical difficulties. This is a rip-off con job with terrible customer service designed to leave with brick walls in all attempts to remedy their overcharges until you give up!! read more

Rented a vehicle from CATHY WALSH AT AVIS CAR RENTAL ...i came across a delema with the pricing. There was a misscomunication SHE DIDN'T WANT TO HELP US AND WAS EXTREMLY RUDE OVER THE PHONE. Avis in reno ended up helping me with a more affordable price.. she could have worked with me but refused. The guy in reno called her and got her to discount the bill. Terrible experience, one person on duty and they decided to go to lunch, had to wait 30 minutes for them to come back before being able to pick up car. When they gave me the car it was filthy! I understand having to do a quick wash or wipe down on a car but this was ridiculous, spent and hour at the car wash trying to wash the car and still could have been there at least another hour trying to wash it. When I called the guy offered me a 10 dollar discount which I thought was ridiculous because I paid 15 for a car wash plus two hours of labor between my son and I. Needless to say I will take my business elsewhere in the future. read more
