A tow truck driver for Aviles & Gabes on 4868 East Yager Ln in Manor, TX was very deceptive; he told me my insurance would cover the tow and storage fee. That turned out to be a BIG FAT lie. I had to pay $350 tow fee, $50 notification fee, and $20/day storage fee.... my total bill was over $580. Oh and be sure to take cash because they will charge you an extra 4% if you use a credit card; and, they don't accept checks. Be sure you call an hour in advance to pick up car or if you are having it towed by a salvage yard to their facility, because Aviles & Gabes will not let you in. The woman who answers the phone is incredibly rude and seems to carry an air of arrogance that's completely unearned. Then there's Gabe--who I believe is one of the owners--who might be the second rudest person I've ever encountered. (After his woman partner) Every question is met with a sarcastic, condescending response, as if basic communication is beneath him. It's as if both of them have some deep resentment toward the world and take it out on anyone who calls. Their behavior is unprofessional, abrasive, and honestly bizarre. I would strongly recommend steering clear of them if you can. From what I understand, they do a lot of work with government and city contracts--perhaps that's why they feel they don't have to treat people with respect or basic courtesy. I called to check to see where the service people were and she was laughing on the phone stating that their men just didn't have the tools to change a tire. Unfortunately I was hit by a dump truck. This company was unfortunately on the site of the accident. They towed my car away. The next day, I went to get my handicap placard from my car, but was told I had to make an appointment for the next day! You can only make an appointment the day of your arrival, between the hours of 9am to 3pm, I work from 11am to 3pm and have no car. Needless to say, I was perturbed. I honestly plan on suing this place. My car was stolen on December 22, 2024 and it was impounded here on the same date. I filed the police report and was never notified that my car had been found until January 13, 2024. I called 311 to see if my car had been impounded anywhere on December 26th which means that they had my car for 4 days at this point and I was told that it was not in the system anywhere in TX. Which means they intentionally don't put things like this into the database so that they can collect more fees. Just like other reviews have stated the lady that answers the phone is completely rude and needs to be fired or trained. They have super strict rules for people trying to get their OWN VEHICLES. My insurance company scheduled a tow to pick up my car and bring it to the repair shop. I was given a timeframe of 90-120 minutes. My car was involved in an accident Travis County had it towed to Eagle Towing (0.1 miles away from Aviles) I called 2.5 hours later to get an ETA so I could schedule a time to get to the repair shop to sign paperwork around my work schedule. I called in and I was on hold for 10 minutes. The woman I spoke with said I was not a priority and they had other things to do and it would take much longer than the timeframe I was given. I am completely appalled that I was spoken to like this. I should have cancelled the service on the spot. Since my insurance was the one to set it up I have reported them to my insurance company as they should not associated with them. Mike the driver was great and explained his thoughtful approach and how he was going to hook my vehicle up (which was at a weird angle in my driveway increasing the difficulty of getting it on the back of the truck). My car went dead on the highway at 1am, The tow truck company through progressive insurance company gave me a wait time of 65 minutes. Austin Police department told me that the location was unsafe so I was required to let them tow. My tow truck driver was 20 minutes away. This company got there first, the driver didn't speak English. We had to use google translate. He told me that the tow would cost $210 and I could pay with card. When the car arrived at my home he called Rachael who told me over speaker that their card machine didn't work and had to be a cash. I only had $200 cash & she refused saying Austin police department charges $10 they had to have it or they would tow my vehicle to a location in manor rd. These people are so rude and heartless! We were in an accident yesterday, a guy with no DL or ins t-boned me with my daughter and grandbaby in the car. They towed my vehicle here while I went to the hospital. I just got out of the hospital and came to this place to get my things out of the vehicle. They wouldn't let me drive the car I'm in to my wrecked vehicle and wouldn't let my daughter even come inside the gate to help me unload the stuff. I had to walk about 2 city blocks to get to my wrecked vehicle then unload all my things as it's 100 degrees outside. I asked if they had a wagon or something to help me haul my things back they said no we dont have anything, I asked for some water bc I literally was about to pass out.
