Glad I always keep my receipts. Beware. Many people have been taken by this guy. Always pay more for a qualified, licensed contractor who performs work per code with excellent reviews and reputation. Avila III Electric - Excessive holes left unpatched! - Electricians Near Me - Montebello, California

In July of 2019 I had a sump pump installed by plumber. The plumber said, you need to get an electrician to install an outdoor outlet in order to connect the sump pump. I called Avila. He charged me approximately $550.00. Now, we come into November 2019, the day before Thanksgiving. I look out the back window and I notice that my entire backyard is flooded. What?!?! How can that be? Immediately, I call the plumber. He comes and pulls out the sump pump and shows me how it's melted. Avila had separated the double mechanical float switch and to top it off the outside outlet had not been grounded. Avila comes and says, "Yeah, my guy could have done a better job but it gets the job done" I texted him afterwards to ask him pay for me having to replace the sump pump. The text messages didn't go far. I had to hire a professional servicer to serve him because he is never at the Beverly Blvd address. Come court date. Avila offers to pay me half of the amount I filed for but I declined. At this point, it was about the principle of the thing. The judge was a male, I don't know if that had anything to do with him not favoring me but I will say that I had educated myself to the point where the judge asked me if I was an electrician. Finally, the judge turns to Avila and asked do you sub-contract out? Avila replied, "Yes" and to make a long story short, he absolved him of all responsibility. If I could give them 0 stars, I wouldCalled them to fix a outdoor sensor light that Wouldn't go on. Jesse came out and "fixed " It. Charged us $205. Next day it wouldn't go on so we called him and he said "it was working when I left. Must be something else . I'll have to charge you if I come out again" We had also asked for an estimate for other work we wanted done. Then he called to give us estimate for the job we wanted done. I told him we got another electrician to fix the light he didn't fix. Anderson Electric fixed our light and charged us $50.00 less of what Avila did and did a very professional job. When we were talking to Jesse, he said his son goes to Don Bosco and we were paying for it i thought he was kidding, but obviously not. We got him because he was local and family owned. read more

Wow, called for a quote and was asked to Venmo $45 to whoever answered the phone just to receive an estimate on some work. I said no and got hung up on. Very unprofessional. Rude. *To respond to his comment, I am not a realtor, I work for one. And I did NOT ask for a discount for our clients. I asked for a QUOTE on the work so we can put together a request for repairs before buying. I'm expected to pay for a quote? The electrician was very through & explained some very important information that the previous electricians did not. Our lights went out and they came SAME DAY I called!!! That was amazing although they were late i'm happy at least i got my lights up and running. Great customer service we kept getting calls to let us know they are running late, they were suppose to show at at 6pm and ended up coming a bit past 9pm but honestly didn't matter they did a great job and I really appreciated the updated calls as well. If I could give more stars for Avila Electric, I would! I had been having flickering lights in my home for about 6 months (I know, i know). I didn't notice it too much until it had gotten increasingly worse within the last month. My sister woke up on a Sunday morning at 3:00 am fed up with our electric problems as lights and fans had been turning on and off throughout the night. I got on Yelp (at 3:30 am, haha) and searched for electricians in my area and Avila had the best reviews. I requested a quote and gave a general description of what was going on and Jessie replied the same day within a few hours. I was busy Sunday so didnt actually get back to him until Monday AM.. Jessie gave me a very reasonable price and assured me he was going to try and keep it fair for me, we talked on the phone a few times and he said he would be right over. We have an old Zinsco panel so it's pretty ancient which makes it harder to repair/replace/find the parts of our breaker, etc. Jessie was really really friendly, made small talk w my family and I and it really felt like we had an old good friend come work on our home. We took advantage of his time at our home and he ended up looking at/repairing a couple of other things we had been needing to get done, so that was a definite plus. All in all, we had a great experience with Jessie, he was friendly, professional, and honest and we look forward to calling him again in the future for any other issues we have. Where do I begin? So my puppy decided we use the A/C more than we should. So he decided to chew the cord. Bad puppy! I found Jesse on Yelp and his reviews were all great. On the second phase, I was pleasantly surprised, Rene retraced his steps on how to move forward, found the cause of the problem to be less complicated then he first thought. I had Jesse come out to my mom's house to replace a burned out electrical plug and while he was there she had him change out two bad heater switches. I replaced a bad light switch at my mother's house, but when I turned the circuit back on, the lights ended up being off in multiple rooms of the house. Jesse responded to my call promptly and was great about keeping me updated about his arrival time. He quickly diagnosed that my mother had a greater problem than a bad switch. The loss of power actually stemmed from the main breaker to the house, which was starting to go. Upon replacing the main breaker all power was restored to normal conditions. I'm giving them 5 stars because I didn't end up having them do any work. Since that sounds odd, let me explain that just some of the circuits in our house went out. When I called, based on discussion of the house's electrical system and age, and all breakers OK even after I tripped and reset them, he said that the first thing was to call the electric company and be sure there wasn't a problem with the power coming in. Hmm, OK. Turns out there was a neighborhood outage of one phase (and bless whoever wired the house to multiple phases so some stuff still worked). The Edison guys were there until at least 4am, and I was out of pocket $0. I really like it when a business' first inclination is to help me, not just come out and charge me. read more

I found this business via Yelp. I liked that they are a family owned business and had received many good reviews, so I decided to call them for some electrical work on our townhouse. Rene came out and was very pleasant. He let us know our options and the pros and cons and costs of the different options. Many times I find that the business wants to make the most money on the job. This was not the case with Avila III Electric. I found Rene to be knowledgeable and honest. I did have an issue with our light still flickering after he left. I called Rene and he said to change the bulb? (He had put in an LED bulb). We put in the old bulb and it seemed to stop the flickering. Even with this minor glitch, I would feel comfortable in using Avila III Electric again. Very good experience and reasonable prices. read more
