I hired Edwin many times over the past four years for small and big jobs, and the last three jobs have been rip off territory. He started out great, but lately started adding charges and choosing to cut corners. His crew put a light switch in a crawl space and told me it was my fault when I said we need to be able to access it, although he did move it. He charged $1,000 to install a pendant and three spotlights that took his guys maybe 2 hours max to install. If you want to pay someone $500/hr then he is perfect. read more

Edwin and his crew are great! They were prompt, quick, and tidy. A third of my house lost power suddenly and I called Edwin who showed up when he said he would and evaluated the situation and provided an estimate. We have an old house and there were a lot of old wires. He suggested rewiring the outlets and switches that had lost power. Edwin and his crew showed up when they said they would and promptly started work. They unearthed the problem areas and worked to ensure that each room they worked on was covered in plastic so as not to leave a mess. He provided me with updates on any issues they found, never starting more work without getting the go ahead, and finished on time. Afterward, they cleaned up the dust and left the house in a relatively clean condition. When they had to search for junction boxes within the walls, they did minimal damage to the walls so that there would be very little patch work needed. In the end, he and his crew rewired 4 junction boxes, 6 outlets, and two light switches while covering any junction boxes with a cover plate. It was more than what was expected and he did not go over his estimate. Will definitely keep 5 Star in my rolodex. After two failed attempts from the electrician who installed our dimmer (one of which resulted in him replacing the whole dimmer) we were STILL having problems with the light which would stop working intermittently. We decided to call someone else: 5 Star Electric. They did the one thing the other electrician failed to do: be thorough. Our tech removed the entire lighting fixture and found it was cutting in and out because of loose wires and an improper installation, using the wrong size caps which allowed the wires to slide. This review is late & i apologize for that. I had a short somewhere in the house and it was built in the 1950's. It had the old wiring with the cloth jacket that crumbled when u touched it and the wiring was a huge mess. I had lost power to half my house and was afraid that the short might cause a fire.
