Needed a septic grinder pump's reservoir pumped out (70-gal) prior to installation of a repaired septic grinder pump. The repair was completed and a time established (vendor A, the by installer), during which the loaner pump would be removed and the repaired pump installed. Avery's Pumping (vendor B) would pump out the contents of the tank reservoir. All schedules coordinated the day before the activity, with all times confirmed by both vendor A and B.
On the day of service I received a call from the individual performing the pumping (i.e. the truck guy). The conversation was not very pleasant. Despite prior coordination b/w vendors, Gerry adamant about informing me that the service company doing the install had to be there when he was there w/ the truck. He then told me that he could pump the tank before-hand, which wasn't correct...Avery's, had already told me that they wouldn't remove the loaner pump to pump out the tank. After we discussed order of operations, he informed me that someone would pay him for his time, and that he had other customers. I let him know that Avery's had already provided a quote AND confirmed the start time of the work with vendor A, the pump installer. I understand that his time is valuable, but I had done everything that both vendors A and B had requested in terms of coordination. On the AM of date of service, I could only be the middle man between two service providers and one of them (Avery's) was giving me a hard time about schedule. In the end, pump installer showed up a few minutes late. Pump truck guy, who made the fuss about schedule, showed up after that. Whole lot of fuss over nothing...next time eliminate the middle man and have technicians call each other with ETA's for arrival.
Price for the pump out ($160) was fair...the headache was not. Would not recommend them for this type of service. The coordination is between at least 3 people...office, owner, pump truck operator. Coordinating with the pump repair outfit, that adds two more (office and technician). I'd look for someone who can do both sides of the equation...repair and tank pump out at time of re-install. read more
