I have been using pump grump for many years. They are always so nice and honest. One year my cesspool did not need to be pumped and the two gentleman that came to pump it said I do t need to. This is why I use them. The office women are so very nice and helpful when I call. Sometimes the drivers answer the office phone and they are also very nice. This business is appropriately named. Whoever drives their truck is a rude and aggressive driver. I first encountered this vehicle on my road as I was stuck behind them as they drove 10 mph for about half mile. Then at the stop sign, this truck sat and sat and sat with zero traffic stopping them. I honked to let them know I was there and so he responded with a long blast of his air horn. I then tried to drive around this truck, and so he waited until I was almost past, then pulled out and tried to race me. I could go on but I won't. I will add that this grumpy crap hauler recognized my car a week later and then began similar antics. Cannot believe DOT would license someone who drives like this. I have called this business to ask to speak to the driver and I will update this if I receive a call back. Given my experiences I would not recommend this business. I have a further update. This pro now honks his air horn when he drives past my house. Isn't that great! Professionalism at its finest. read more

My parents called for septic pumping and I met the truck when they arrived, on time. The guy doing the service, his name was Seven (like the number) was extremely professional and thorough. He explained everything he was doing, made suggestions and asked that we see into the tank the issues we were creating. He didn't rush and did everything to our satisfaction. We had to have an emergency pumping of our septic tank as part of figuring out why there was water in the basement. It was after dark - and I hope his last job of the day - when the man who was pumping arrived. Nevertheless, he took time to show us that the filter was unusually clogged and explain how that could be the reason for the problem and suggest that cleaning the filter twice a year rather than just when the tank is pumped once a year would keep it from happening again. Called Pump Grump with a backed up system at 8:45PM and received a live person on the phone! They were personable, friendly, answered all my questions and came out to pump my system first thing the next morning. After Pumping my septic we realized that there was a clog inside the house which did require me to call a plumber (as a septic company they service any and all issues from the tank to the house but aren't insured for work inside). The knowledgeable and very funny service guys gave me the name of a plumber who came out that day to fix my clog. Also a great, reliable pocket book friendly company (Budge It Drains). So incredibly grateful for the services provided and beyond impressed with their professionalism and service. read more

We called them on a Tuesday afternoon and they arrived first thing Wednesday morning. Pumped the tank promptly and advised on enzymes/bacteria additive. The people we talked to on the phone were very friendly and helpful. We had a small issue with our septic that was resolved as part of the overall price. I hired Pump Grump to empty my septic tank. I had a verbal agreement with Buddy, who runs the septic truck, to come by my house when my wife was home. We had discussed pricing and the services to be done, but now I wish I had been there.... Beware of pricing. I understood the cost to empty the septic tank and the cost to dig, but the cost to clean the filter came completely out of nowhere. We never discussed this over the phone and it was done without my approval. It cost $75 extra. Beware of workmanship. Buddy requested that I leave a garden hose for him. My hose is attached to a reel, which is connected to the supply on the house. I pulled out the hose reel and extended the hose the night before to make things easier for Buddy, so there should have been no question about how to use it. Unfortunately, I found out later that Buddy broke the connection between the house and the reel and blamed it on the way we had it installed. I had this reel for several years, and used it without an issue. Buddy not only manages to break it on his first and only visit, but he also absolved himself of any responsibility and did not offer to reimburse us. I consider this unprofessional. I can't comment on the quality of Pump Grump's services because it's difficult to see for myself; I'm not a septic tank serviceman. Buyer beware. The staff is friendly, but this experience does not leave me wanting to come back for more. read more

I received very bad service from the new owner of the grump pump. Called because cesspool was backing up into my cellar. They pumped my cesspool and never fixed the problem of the backup. I had to snake out the sweaage line myself. There solution for the clog was to call a plumber. Was told the truck doesn't carry a snake. Very limited experienced spoke to the owner who was very rude offered no solution. Do yourself a favor and stay away from the New Grump pump. read more

We got an appointment within the month for Pump Grump to come pump our septic tank (basic service). They arrived on time, took only about 15 minutes to pump the tank and that was that. The price was on par with other septic pumpers in the area. I also purchased a $100 enzyme system from them - you pour it down the drain every few months to balance out the septic bacteria - this was in addition to the cost of the pumping. I had a very similar experience as Kate A in a previous review. I called Pump Grump on a Sunday with a backed up system and he was there within an hour to pump out the tank. I also had a blockage in the house and Budge-It Drains was called in. Very happy with both companies' prompt service, and on a football Sunday in November no less. read more
