When we told them that it was backing up into our basement, they said they would let us know if there was a cancellation. I called Smith, and Ashley made things happen. She was friendly and understanding of the urgency of the situation. She took my number and called back within 15 minutes, telling me that she could get a truck there sometime today between 11 and 3:30. She went over pricing, and I know they could not have charged me for the 'rush.' When the guy got here, at 11:30!!!!!, he could not have been more nice or professional. We have found our new 'septic professionals.' Update 08/15/2015 We had a problem with our main line, and needed it snaked. Smith could snake from the tank to the foundation, but not past that (I assume due to licensing restrictions, but I didn't ask) and I did not think that would solve our problem. The woman on the phone was both sympathetic and helpful, even suggesting we call another local company!! I took the number for 'the competition,' and thanked her very much. What an amazing company!!

The 2 other companies (one of which I used for 47 years), told me there would be a $100 "emergency charge" for same day service. Aren't most septic problems an emergency? Heritage was there in about 3-4 hours. No "emergency charge" and very reasonable. The service agent did an excellent job pumping and also cleaned the filters in record time. Heritage is now my go-to company. Thank you. You saved the day!

Very disappointed. All Town advertises 24/7 emergency service, but that was not my experience. When…read moresewage began backing up into our basement, I called for emergency assistance. The answering service assured me they would contact the on-call technician and have someone dispatched immediately. Two hours passed with no response. When I called back, I was told the technician decided it could wait until morning because they could not find the tank covers. No one ever contacted me to verify that information. Had they done so, they would have learned that all tank covers had already been uncovered and illuminated, making access easy. I was then told the technician would call me directly to discuss next steps. That call never came. After waiting and following up multiple times, I was forced to find another solution on my own. Advertising 24/7 emergency service sets an expectation that emergency calls will be answered and addressed. Unfortunately, that did not happen here.

Rob, our technician knocked on the door, introduced himself and we walked the property back to the location of our septic system. Why builders always place these systems way out back is beyond me. However, Rob jumped on the job, running hoses, and I mean a LOT of hose back to the tank and started the task. Did I mention it was a hot miserable day? Rob finished quickly and cleaned up PERFECTLY! Bay State Sewage is lucky to have a technician of Rob's ability and personality. A good man! One impressive comment I must make, Rob is the first pumpout driver to come onto the property and leave without burying those big dual wheels carrying a lot of weight into the soft spring grass. Not a trace. Rob is a guy who cares about what he does. Kudos! Additionally I need to give a shout out to the office personnel, specifically Caitlin, who had a negative response from our Credit Card. NOT HER FAULT, I forgot to give them a new replacement card number. At the end of a very busy day. Caitlin was patient and understanding in senior citizen memory issues. Great people work at Bay State. Also outstanding pricing. I highly recommend Bay State for all your septic needs.

It was Easter Sunday and my elderly mother's water pump to her well failed. I gave her a list of…read morebusinesses and told her to call me after getting quotes. This business was not at the top of the list as I knew them to be on the higher end of the price point, but were a reputable business. This was the first company she called and they came right out. They explained to my freeloading unemployed adult brother that lives there that if they came out the work would be completed as it was on an emergency basis. They were pretty straightforward and they agreed they would complete the work (once the pump is pulled it needs to be replaced immediately to restore water). The total was up around 3700 and my mom had given them a credit card to complete the work. My husband contacted the business as this was a large expense for her being on a fixed income with no financial help in her household, and they agreed to give her a senior citizen discount of 10% and they completed the transaction on her card. They also explained that it would have to be flushed for a while until water was clear before water went through fixtures (there's a lot of sediment). Well, they could've stayed and done this for her but would've charged by the hour and so they explained to my brother how to do it and he agreed he would be capable of this. Thankfully, he's unemployed and has lots of time on his hands and should have been capable to do this for her. Unfortunately, the water was turned on before the flush was completed as discussed and sediment was introduced to the fixtures, causing low water pressure. My brother had called the company complaining of the low water pressure and Paul was happy to come out to troubleshoot. It was at that time Paul reiterated that the flush had to be completed and the aerators were clogged from sediment by failing to do so. Paul had actually offered to flush it himself and clean the aerator, but he was not permitted entry. Based off their diagnostics she also needs a new tank. She was given a quote with 10% and Paul also said that she can work out a payment plan if unable to pay at once. Overall they are a little on the high end but are responsive to emergency calls, helpful and overall an honest company to work with.
