The technician arrived, dragged the hose, uncovered the lid using a drill, pumped, replaced the lid, cleaned up, and left--all in 7 minutes. Yes, from arrival to departure. The tech seemed like a good guy, but I strongly recommend being home during service so you don't get shortchanged. This year's inspection revealed the tank was on the verge of a backflow situation--the first time in over a decade. Owner Paul wasn't there during the service but stood by what was seen on video. Sometimes I wait 7 minutes just for a coffee at Dunkin'. Whatever the reason--maybe the truck was almost full--I feel like I got hosed.

We've used them for pumping/maintenance and to evaluate the leech field when a tree fell over on it. This is the first time we had a real issue. Over the weekend the alarm for the septic pump started sounding. We did some basic troubleshooting at home and verified the water level was high but with some capacity so we avoided using the drains as much as possible and called first thing Monday. Rich was already working on a job in Hanover and was here just a few hours after we called. He walked me through the control box and the testing that he was doing. I let him do his work and he reported back that one of the floats was acting up and literally needed to shake it to get it to turn on. He recommended replacing at least that pump and to consider replacing the others as they work in tandem. They were $110 each for materials but the labor wouldn't really change whether he replaced one or all 3. I asked if it would also make sense to replace the pump given that it is 9 years old and I saw most pumps have a lifespan om 10-12 years. He talked me out of that. He explained that the pumps are expensive and the one I had is likely between $1,500-1,800 and he never recommends replacing pumps proactively. Use it until it dies and while he has seen them go in the 10-12 year range he has seen them go much longer. So squeeze as much time out of it as possible. When Rich got everything pumped out to the right level he took the time to show me the water levels within the chamber so if I ran into this again I would have a reference on what "normal" and "high" look like. So Rosano Davis came out and was able to get everything fixed the same day I called, gave me the option on the minimum to fix the issue, what he recommended, AND talked me out of spending extra money on replacing the pump unnecessarily. THAT is a company you work with and stay with.

It was Thursday morning around 8. Steve avery showed up at around 1 pm and acknowledged that the pump should be replaced. He had the chamber pumped on Friday and said he would get a new pump. We had to refrain from using excessive water. He just left us hanging. I called Friday evening and he said he had the pump but wouldn't work on it til Monday. Monday came and went and he ignored our calls. Also Tuesday ignored our calls. Tuesday night promised Wednesday morning. Nothing. Finally came by Thursday without speaking to anyone, left in 30 minutes . No communication until Monday when we got a bill. Still no communication but assume work is done.
