I am a frequent customer here and their food is always amazing including the staff. The ambience is amazing. They have great lighting. They also have DJ with awesome music. Prices are decent and the food will leave you stuffed and coming back for more.

From first glance the place looks very elegant, the ambiance is nice the only problem is the chairs/booths. They seem a bit cracked and old but otherwise pretty beautiful. We started off with some "greek fries" topped w feta and a side of tzaziki sauce. Along with the "Grilled Octopus" paired with their delicious red pepper sauce... honestly chefs kisses :* For drinks we had the cranberry margarita and FINALLY! a drink thats not wattered down in astoria, it was strong but very well balanced with the cranberry flavors. We also had the Alfredo fettuccine and the Chicken parm... Once again chefs kisses :* Service was amazing, special thanks to Anna and her staff members for their great service tonight. Definitely will be returning.

Eddy was fantastic he was our host for a Bachelorette party, and omg was another level. He organized the party in less than an hour fantastic decorations, balloon, and fire sticks .. Ilir was taking care of our table and make sure we are having our glass filled. The food was so tasty and dress we had pizza, burgers and Fried calamari, for drink champagne and shots !! If you want your party be remembered by years talk to Eddy and rest assured he will take care of your event. The Dj of the Night wasn't what I expect but ok for Saturday night should be more variety of songs IMO Other wise The place is so beautiful the atmosphere is like you are in some Place in Europe I love the yellow umbrellas. I definitely recommend Avenue for event or even if you want to stop by for coffee and feel like you are out of New York

Saturday bottomless brunch, 2 people, reserved in advance. Great food, great service, reasonably priced - highly recommend the white sangria. And can't go wrong with Greek coffees - I had the frappé and my friend had a different iced coffee after someone at a table nearby ordered it. Bottomless brunch is 90 minutes, you can switch drinks but we each stuck with the white sangria. They made sure to bring one last one before the 90 minutes was up! We got here at 1 pm and decided to get lunch food instead of brunch. I had the salmon burger with salad and my friend had the fried chicken BAT sandwich with fries. We had hummus to start- SO GOOD. We will definitely be back and plan to try the brunch entrees next time. PS discount if paying cash instead of card.

Decent food and nice ambiance. Came for lunch. Their decor was modern and we liked their outdoor seating. Came here before reading reviews after we strolled around the neighborhood and gave this place a shot. Pretty pricey here compared to the other restaurants around. Ambiance: 4/5 (seat cushions were ripping apart but decor was nice) Food flavors: 4/5 Value: 3/5 Service: 4/5 (other servers and bus boys were very attentive and lots of water refills) Oysters were fresh. 4/5 They gave us an extra menu for the oyster specials so we thought it was separate from the main menu's oysters. They just mean that is their current selection. I asked the server how much the half dozen costs because seafood specials are usually M.P. and I didn't want to be surprised at the bill. He just said "6." Lol....... It's regular menu price btw. Avenue burger was 4/5 My partner liked the portion and seasoning of the mushrooms. He asked for medium rare and liked how juicy it was. Seafood pasta was 5/5 Pasta was al denta and they didn't skimp on the seafood. The scallop was so tender. However... Server didn't ask if we have any allergies or sensitivities to any food groups. I didn't see cheese listed on the menu for the pasta. They brought it out with a pile of parmesan. I know I should've clarified beforehand but menus usually list what has dairy and this didn't. It was a bit frustrating to have it corrected and wait for a new plate while my partners food went cold. The pasta was hot to the point of tasting like it came from a microwave but I'll assume it was fresh because the textures and flavors were great. Management and servers tried to be nice. Service is good but I won't come back.

Avenue Restobar or back in the Avenue A Cafe was a staple modern contemporary Greek restaurant. Great drinks Great bites. This has been a hit for the past 20 years. Aliada is an amazing sister restaurant with delicious seafood. Service has always been great.

Okay vibes here are 10/10. They have loud music playing, everyone's talking, just a really good time. Their food is also so good. I was happy with everything I ordered - Berry crepe, spinach artichoke dip, penne Al vodka. The one thing you HAVE to get is their coffee. I got an iced vanilla latte it was life changing. I would go back just for the coffee.

If you're in Astoria and looking for a brunch with not just good drinks but food as well pop into Avenue. It's very rare you find a brunch spot where the food and drinks are good. I opted for the wild salmon burger and it was so flavorful and cooked perfectly. It comes with fries or a salad and I asked for the house salad as well as truffle fries because who doesn't love truffle fries! Our waitress Constantina was super attentive and friendly. It was a chill environment good for friends, family, or a cute brunch date. I will surely be back here!

Avenue Continental Breakfast Brunch

My friend and I came here on a whim because the brunch spot we originally wanted to go to was closed. Despite being very busy, we got lucky and were seated fairly quickly. They have a nice outdoor setup, but one thing I really didn't like was that there was a diner next to use smoking. I found it extremely rude. Order: - Continental Breakfast (4/5) - The VIP (4/5) Pros: - Nice outdoor dining set up - Good tasting food - Strong drinks Cons: - Brunch menu is smaller than I expected - They let diners smoke - Service could honestly be better ~ the female servers were nice, but I found some of the male servers a little stand-offish Overall: I was a little worried because the reviews for this place we're all that great, but the food was actually good

The second time, we had to deal with stupid bouncers or security guards before being let into their bar/pub. That's a huge turnoff for me, and it's only worth it for strip clubs and concerts. Sweet Afton is a hip Irish-style pub known for its craft cocktails, extensive beer selection, and upscale pub fare. It has a cozy interior with exposed brick and a sought-after outdoor garden area that is enclosed in the winter.  A few of their menu items include "Astoria's best burger" (using Pat LaFrieda beef), the Dirty Pickle Martini (featuring McClure's pickle juice), and beer-battered fried pickles. I learned that they have a sister pub called the Bonnie in Ditmars, which I have been to and had a great time. Last Saturday I came back for a third time. I was surprised at how things had changed; much more laid-back, with good customer service, good vibes, and one of the most delicious bar burgers I have ever eaten, with a side salad, in any pub or establishment in Queens. Furthermore, Sweet Afron had some nice alternatives to bear and larger, and I selected a cider instead. First, I was offered a sip, and then, upon my approval, a full glass of cider. In conclusion, I do plan to return!

I'm a big fan of the jalapeño double cheeseburger, prepared (smartly) with sliced fresh jalapeños (as opposed to icky pickled jalaps). I prefer it without the sauce, but to each their own. One thing that makes 7th Street Burger so compelling in that they offer vegan burgers which taste just like the real thing. It's truly an impressive culinary feat, in addition to being a sane and sensible option both for non-meat eaters and customers simply seeking a healthier burger. I've eaten here several times but, in the interest of full disclosure, I did recently get a free meal as part of a Yelp event. Try out the new mobile app if you prefer to order ahead and earn some rewards as well. I recommend taking your order down the street to Judy & Punch where you can get a refreshing adult beverage to wash down your meal on the back patio. Summer is coming.

What to make of this place?…read more When we visited in September (at that time), a wanna-be sports bar had just taken over the Greek taverna Blue Sea Taverna (before that, two iterations of Akrotiri). Both Greek tavernas had failed or gone out of business. So we were curious to see what changes had been made. When we entered, we were initially confused because the seating, especially the lounge seating, did not create a sports bar vibe. Even adding a bunch of TVs did not give us that feel either. Instead, our initial impression was that they were trying to convert an old Greek taverna into a gastropub, similar to other well-known ones in the area. And I should also add we had not been following the local news about the controversy regarding their name association with a World War II fortified bunker that was blown up at the end of the Second World War, and only read about the controversy over their name after we left, and on social media. Apparently, the owner(s) were most likely unaware of its historical context when naming their establishment. So we did not factor that into this review. Upon entering the Wolf's Lair, the seating was that of a modified Mediterranean restaurant. We chose the comfy seating looking out towards 29th Street and 30th Avenue. It had been raining heavily, and so we were just glad to be inside. Because our initial impression was that we were in a Mediterranean gastropub, we ordered lamb chops with lemon potatoes. The waiter, who may have been one of the owners, informed us that this vegetable was not on the menu; however, when our chops arrived, as you can see from the photos, we were indeed served lemon potatoes. We got what we ordered, which made us happy, and the chops were cooked to perfection. As we usually do not drink alcohol, beverages were not factored into our review. However, there was one thing we found a little strange and creepy. When we left, one of the employees, presumably an owner, insisted on coming out to help take photos. This was a little off-putting. Nevertheless, we got some good shots. In writing this review, we spent a lot of time deliberating our experience at the Wolf's Lair. We focused on the restaurant, service, food quality, and atmosphere. While the overall experience was excellent, we did not find Wolf's Lair to have a sports-bar atmosphere, but rather a family-dining atmosphere. On the day we visited, there was hardly any action at the bar, and most of us seated were into the food, if nothing else, with one family having a birthday party for one of their children. Overall, we had a good experience. Whether we come back to see if the Wolf's Lair becomes an actual sports bar, well, that's another matter.

While deciding where to go one day, this was suggested and im so glad I went. The restaurant is cozy with tables inside the main dining room and in an enclosed outdoor seating area. Im guessing it opens in the summer. I sat down with my niece while waiting for my sister and for a good 5-7 minutes, no one stopped by and gave a menu nor offered water. Finally after about 3 people walked by not saying anything, someone came. The area is not that big and 7 minutes isnt that long but to sit there any not be addressed by all the staff walking by was annoying. Finally my sister came and we were offered water and a menu. After hearing about the specials and asking for recommendations, we settled on the gnocchi (housemade potato gnocchi, burrata, peas, pesto sauce, toasted pine nuts), Pappardelle alla Bolognese (housemade ribbon pasta, meat sauce), and side of sautéed spinach. The food arrived and we were pleasantly delightful by the main. The gnocchi was so soft and creamy, the sauce was delicious. Im not a fan of gnocchi but this was so good. The papardelle was my meal and it was also so good. There was a lot of pasta and a good amount of meat sauce. It was also delicious. The spinach on the other hand was bland. It has no flavor and we had to add some salt. A few times we tried to call someone over to our table but felt like no one was paying attention. When we were done with our meals, my sister had a few pieces of gnocchi left. She asked for a box as it was to be my nieces lunch for tomorrow. I then said, can you also box up the spinach. A few minutes later, the server dropped off a bag with one container and said here's the spinach. We tried to call his attention but he was already walking away. Where was the gnocchi. Finally when we came back, we asked about it and he said oh I thought it was garbage. I said no we asked for it to be boxed. He said let me talk to the kitchen. He came back and said sorry, they cant do anything but one dessert will be on me. I guess thats fine but we more wanted the food for the baby. For dessert we ordered a tiramisu and pistachio gelato. The tiramisu was in a jar as opposed to a cake slice. One bite of the ice cream and I knew it was bad. It was grainy and sandy texture. I looked up why that would be and one reason stated it could be improper storage, like it was unfrozen or melted then refrozen. I wasn't chancing that. I told the server and said I couldn't eat it. He offered another dessert but I said know, then offered a limoncello shot. While I appreciate the offer, we weren't drinking before so that wasn't the best option to offer. I just said im fine without a replacement. When we got the bill, the dessert was taken off like he said he would. We paid and left. Overall the main course/pasta meals were delicious. The sides and desserts could use work. Service was alright. Id definitely come back for the food and to try some of the pizza.

Branzino Special with Cannelli Beans and Swiss Chard. This was the winner of the evening. The cripsy skin was amazing. The fish was cooked to perfection, the cannelli beans I thought were going to be weird but it added a nice creaminess to the fish. Lastly the swiss chard was crunchy on the ends and nice and tender on the leaf. This should be put on the regular menu. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA&select=xNVfJCmf89OOY-1ME3FY7Q Controfiletto- grilled prime angus N.Y. strip steak served with roasted marble potatoes. I hate to say it but as good as the steak was, the roasted potatoes was the star of show. The potatoes were amazing. Pappardelle alla Bolognese- housemade ribbon pasta, meat sauce. This was good but came off a bit plain. The pasta was homemade but it was almost to a fault since the pasta came out too soft. The flavors were good but I felt this would have been a better, reheated the next day kind of dish.
