AVA in Coconut Grove is absolutely stunning. Everything about this place is gorgeous, thoughtfully designed , beautiful lighting, and just seriously great vibes from the moment you walk in. It feels like a sleek, elevated Mediterranean escape right in the Grove, and the space alone makes you want to linger all night. The service, however, could use some fine tuning. Our server Alec felt a bit off and not as attentive to our table as he was to the ones next to us. We had to repeatedly call him over and explicitly tell him we were ready to order, instead of him checking in naturally. It seemed like he skipped right over us which was a bit disappointing given how beautiful the restaurant is and the kind of experience you expect at that level. That said, the food was delicious. To start, we shared the hummus and the saganaki. The hummus was good , solid chickpea flavor , creamy, and flavorful. The saganaki was fine, not bad by any means, but not my favorite version I've had like it didn't quite stand out the way the rest of the meal did. For main entree we split the ribeye steak with the crispy potatoes and both were cooked to perfection. The steak was juicy, well seasoned, and had a beautiful crust, while the crispy potatoes were golden, salty, and addictive. The dessert was the real highlight of the night. We ordered the trio because we couldn't chose which one we wanted cake with the baklava and the cheesecake and ofcouse the chocolate Dubai soufflé which was next level. It had a rich, molten Dubai pistachio praline in the center and came paired with malt ice cream that balanced the sweetness perfectly. I honestly had to stop myself from taking another bite because it was that good. Whatever you do leave room for this. Overall despite the service that just needs to be polished a little , the rest of the experience was a wonderful. Was truly impressed with this spot and what a lovely atmosphere it had and fantastic food. I would love to come back and try some other dishes like the fish and lamb and even check out their brunch !

I've come to AVA a few times already and can confirm this spot totally gets it. To start, I'll say, this place has such a beautiful charm. The owners really pay attention to the details -- from the branded plates, to the lovely and comfortable seating, to the beautiful market style fish presentation, everything just feels like you're transported to the Mediterranean. Of course, with a spot as beautiful as this you'd expect great service and that is exactly what's given to you here. Time and time again our server has been great, charming, and always knowledgeable about the dishes they're serving. As for the food -- the cherry on top of course, the food is lovely! Great Mediterranean dips, the crudo was my favorite of the night, a 5 star octopus, and trust me when I say don't skip on the Branzino -- it's so fresh and delicious! And I'll finish this review off with their dessert, I've tried their baklava topped with ice cream and honestly I think about it more than I should, lol. It's that good!

Stopped through on a Tuesday at 6:30. The vibe was crazy. Really nice place. We sat outside and most of the night didn't realize I was outside. Very comfortable place. Now for the food. I had the meatballs (pause), shrimp, branzino, and tomahawk ribeye. Everything was good but that ribeye was real. Top 5 dead or alive. Oh yea, the truffle pasta was . If I back in Miami, I'm going there and just getting the tomahawk and mad pasta lol.

Enjoyed the ambiance, service, and food. We had the burger, lavraki fish, and some potatoes. The fish and burger were great. The potatoes were a miss. The drinks were also very good. They do an excellent mojito. AVA is owned by the same group who owns Casa Neos. The vibe and menu are very similar. We would definitely visit again.

Ava Mediterranean is a beautiful, almost magical space, every interior detail feels intentional and thoughtfully designed. The service was slow and at times inattentive, though still professional. The spanakopita was exceptional, easily the standout dish. The branzino was very good, but a bit overpriced for the portion size. Fresh ingredients and beautiful plating. This is the place to come when you're in the mood to splurge on atmosphere, ambiance, and stunning décor rather than purely food.

We went to AVA Mediterranean last night for dinner with an 8:15 reservation. We did have about a 20 minute wait at the bar, but the atmosphere made it enjoyable. The decor is beautiful and gives you that Miami vibe right away, and the drinks were great. After checking in again, we were seated right away. From there, the service was excellent. A special thank you to the manager, Brandon, who went above and beyond and constantly checked on us to make sure everything was perfect. That level of attention really stood out. The portions are on the smaller side, but everything we ordered was on point. We had the octopus, Greek salad, zucchini chips, patatas, and the snapper. All delicious and well executed. The standout for me was the yogurt dessert. It was incredible, topped with pistachio, olive oil, and a sugar crisp that made the whole dish. Overall, great experience. Between the vibe, service, and quality of the food, I would definitely go back.

Wow!!! We recently enjoyed a 15 ppl dinner at Ava and not only were we blown away by the gorgeous decor but the service, quality and abundance of delicious food was worthy of 5 stars. I'll be back for more soon!

Honesty first time here and it was beautiful the ambiance is so nice and fancy looking. Honestly please wear light colors because that's the vibe out there. White beige colors . The service was excellent and I would definitely come back for their brunch . They had a 45 brunch menu that was 3 course meal. Everything was amazing.

Had a reservation for my birthday. Took 45 to be seated past my reservation time. Service sucked honestly. The hostess didn't communicate at all. The main reason I wanted to come here was because some girlfriends and I had visited the winter park location & could not stop raving about how good everything was. While the architecture of this location is gorgeous, everything else fell short. Our server didnt tell us his name which should have been a give away of the service we were about to receive. Drinks took forever; appetizers hit first. Octopus was chewy & the meatballs were slightly overcooked. For entrees we got the branzino which was amazing as well as the black truffle pasta. Those were fabulous no notes. We also added the half rack of lamb & chicken dish. The couscous that accompanied the chicken was incredibly dry like sand. The chicken was average. For desert we got the baklava and the chocolate mousse. Both were okay. The espresso ordered was forgotten & at that point we were ready to leave. Note that the entire dinner we were attempting to have someone clear the numerous empty cups and plates from the table yet it was not being maintained on an already small tabletop. For drinks at the winter park location there is something along the lines of a pisco sour; so I asked our server if they had something similar. What was recommended definitely had pisco but was nothing close to a sour. Overall for the price it was shitty. There's a lot of great high end restaurants in the area & this one really lacked. Everyone at the table was younger which maybe was the reason behind the poor service, however we all work in the service industry & could not ignore the lack of service given to our table. (We also work as secret shoppers & this would have been an extremely poor rating.) With all that we still tipped 20% & definitely should not have. Here they include tip in the bill even for parties of 4. This service did not deserve it.

I had one of the best nights I've had in a long time at Coconut Grove--specifically Ava at CocoWalk. Everything about the experience was exceptional: the food, the atmosphere, the energy--it all came together perfectly. But what really made the night stand out was the service. Brian and Venera were absolutely wonderful. They went above and beyond and made me the best drinks--a lemon drop and a pisco sour--and both were perfectly crafted and genuinely delicious. This was hands down one of the best experiences I've had. If you're in Coconut Grove, this is the place to go.

The restaurant has a super nice chill vibe, good music, the food was good. The staff were super friendly. Theres a garage right next to the entrance so that super nice if you dont find street parking.

Seating is mostly outdoors and beautifully decorated, definitely a nice selection for an intimate event. Service was wonderful! The spanakopita was nicely flaky, the spinach filling wasn't overly bitter or pungent (my boyfriend is not a fan of strong feta flavors and enjoyed this while I am a feta enthusiast, we felt that this was right in the middle of our demands which worked great). We both love moussaka which is what my boyfriend ended up getting, dare we say it was our favorite moussaka out of any Greek restaurant in America thus far (coming from New Yorkers frequently visiting Astoria). It was broiled to perfection to give the cheese/béchamel layer a light crunch at the top and maintaining that richness underneath. The eggplant and ground meat were well seasoned. I really enjoyed my stuffed peppers as well (rice pilaf, ground beef, and feta on top), the tomato broth/sauce gave a nice sweet and savory flavor with the meal. Finally, a superb pistachio baklava, 10/10. Super impressed with what Miami had to offer for Mediterranean.

Plan accordingly unless you enjoy dining in 85° with a side of humidity. Parking? Practically a scavenger hunt. There's no real on-site option; we ended up trekking about six blocks to a public garage. Apparently there's valet somewhere nearby, but you'd never know it because there were no signs, no heads up, just vibes. They tout a Michelin Bib Gourmand, which set expectations and maybe a little too high. Unfortunately, the food just didn't deliver. Several dishes landed squarely in the "looks better than it tastes" category--pretty, but surprisingly flavorless. At those prices, you expect at least a little wow. Service was fine, but forgettable. All in all, between the heat, the flies, the parking adventure, and the underwhelming food, this one's a pass for me. Won't be making a return trip.

For context, I worked in fine dining in New York and Miami for almost 20 years, so I notice the details immediately, hospitality, management presence, the energy of a room. You can usually tell pretty quickly what kind of operation you're dealing with. We were a party of five. I arrived with my four-year-old son and was greeted warmly by the hostess. That warmth ended instantly. Standing directly behind her were two managers in suits blocking the main entrance. Both looked straight at me and my child and said absolutely nothing. No hello, no smile, no acknowledgment. Anyone in hospitality knows that moment sets the tone. As an Arab woman who grew up around a culture where hospitality is everything, it was already a bad sign. We were seated outside and the vibe stayed cold. Unfortunately, the food matched it. We ordered a lot because I genuinely wanted to give the kitchen a fair shot. I grew up eating Lebanese food and what stood out most was the lack of soul. Everything felt flat, like it needed salt, lemon, brightness, that warm Mediterranean seasoning Lebanese food is known for. The tabouli was especially shocking. A $20+ tabouli with no bulgur that was so roughly chopped it was basically whole parsley leaves and slices of onion. Any Lebanese auntie would die at the sight of it. At one point I asked our server if they had harissa or any kind of spicy sauce. She said the only option was Sriracha. In a Lebanese restaurant that charges $18 for a tablespoon of hummus. An Asian chili sauce as the only option. What made it even stranger is that harissa is listed on multiple dishes on the menu, so it clearly exists somewhere in the building. I asked for the Sriracha anyway out of desperation for flavor. It never came. Same with ketchup for my toddler's fries, it took three requests. Throughout the meal I walked around the restaurant several times taking my son to the bathroom, looking around the space, even going upstairs to the lounge. Not a single person acknowledged us. Not a host, not a server, not a manager. The bar is right by the entrance and every time we looked over at the bartender and bar manager, just blank stares. At one point we were clearly standing there confused looking for the bathroom in an empty restaurant and still had to say "Excuse me, where is the bathroom?" Wild. Later I walked up to the bar myself to ask if they carried mezcal. After dinner I went back to order one. Same energy--zero warmth, zero engagement. And this is with an automatic 20% gratuity already on the bill. The mezcal was a $25 two-ounce pour and I still had to ask for an orange slice garnish because no one offered it. Empty bar, two people behind it, and I still had to request it. Also worth noting, our reservation was at 5:45pm and the restaurant was practically empty. Yet I didn't see a single manager walking the floor, greeting tables, or checking on guests. I had talked this place up to my party because I'd been so curious about it for years, and it was honestly a huge letdown. If you know Lebanese food and understand Middle Eastern warmth and hospitality, this probably isn't the place for you. Expect cold, almost nonexistent hospitality and food that feels stripped of the soul that makes Lebanese cuisine special. The space is beautiful. I'll give them that. Everything else felt like a very on-brand Miami disappointment, what happens when you give people a beautiful restaurant, expensive food, automatic gratuity, and no leadership. From the lack of authenticity and attention to detail, it's hard to believe anyone truly Lebanese is behind this operation. If anything, it feels more like a polished money grab. Honestly, it might have been less jarring if they just called themselves "Mediterranean" like so many other places in this city. But if you're going to call yourself a Lebanese restaurant, the culture and hospitality should actually be there.

We didn't originally want to sit at the bar, but we ended up doing it and it actually turned out great. The place is cozy and beautiful, and the live music was such a nice touch. It really added to the whole experience. The food was excellent everything we had was on point. The only thing I'd suggest is offering small sides of tzatziki or hummus with dishes. That would make it even better. Overall, amazing hospitality and a spot I'd definitely come back to.

We waited outside for about 20 minutes past our reservation time before being seated. Once inside, the dining room was severely overcrowded. Tables were placed so close together that servers repeatedly bumped into my girlfriend throughout the short time we were seated. It was obvious additional tables had been added for the holiday, and the atmosphere felt chaotic and cramped rather than romantic. I specifically chose this restaurant for what I believed would be an intimate Valentine's setting, and that expectation was completely undermined. Service was equally disappointing. Our server appeared to be handling far too many tables. We did not receive water for approximately 15 minutes after sitting down, and by 9:15 PM -- 45 minutes after our reservation time -- we had still not been able to order drinks. At that point, we decided to leave and find dinner elsewhere. We ultimately paid $40 for a reservation where we were never properly served and did not dine at the restaurant. I reached out privately to give them an opportunity to address the issue but did not receive a response. Valentine's Day is a special occasion, and this was not the evening I had planned.

We were whisked inside to the intimate, dimly lit interior with a DJ table tastefully tucked away in the back of the space. Service was welcoming but overall, not quite as warm and attentive as I've experienced at other places in town. We started off with the Turkish Manti Dumplings, which were the standout of the night. The complexity yet restraint of flavor, balancing indescribable buttery, roasted, earthy notes with a touch of umami and subtle tanginess from the yogurt. The Mezze Sampler was a nice option for trying three of the dips. All very tasty, but I've had slightly better elsewhere. The Sweet Jeweled rice was the other standout with flavor and textural variety that made each bite pop. I found the Roasted Brussels Sprouts undercooked and lacking the same level of flavor as the other plates. The weakest dish of the evening. The Grilled Whole Bronzino got top marks from the meat eaters at the table. Overall, 4/5 stars for a delicious meal but with tough competition around town limiting my ability to hit that 5.

I had to return the plate that I had gotten. I'm sure that if I would've chosen something else, I would've been happy because the person that I went with did very much enjoy their meal. I think it's worth it but maybe doing a little bit more research on what to get. To say that the person I was with had the Bronzino and it was delicious. Drinks are also good as well. like anything in Miami parking is a little difficult, we made reservations and we were sat right away. Again, this could've been a one off thing, but everything else was amazing.

And I'm Greek, so…read moreyou can take my word for it ;) While it may seem slightly off the beaten path right off Flagler, it's very conveniently located by the Knight Center metro stop and a very easy walk from the bridge. Also, the atmosphere they've created both indoors and outdoors really draws you in: beautiful foliage, gorgeous decor, and inviting decor. They play amazing Greek music to set the mood at a very reasonable volume so you can still hear your party. I've been for lunch during Miami spice and recently for dinner. Everything I've had was delicious with tons of flavor and huge portions. Both times I took enough leftovers for another meal! I especially love their zucchini fritters and their spread plate. All their spreads are so fresh and flavorful but their hummus especially was soo good. My husband and I shared the meat platter for two for dinner and enjoyed everything on it - the loukaniko was especially delicious! For dessert, you can't miss the galatoboureko, a sweet custard dessert with the flaky phyllo dough you know and love from baklava. Service was fast and friendly. Highly recommend for a lunch date or dinner date and it's super versatile: great for friends, families or romantic dates. Don't miss this beautiful restaurant in downtown!

The food is super tasty, super fresh, portions are adequate without paying a steep price. The salad: we got a greek salad, it was way bigger than what we expected, the tomatos and feta cheese were delicious and my fiance thought that this was the star dish. Its not your basic salad. The waitress prepared it right infront of us and cut fresh tomatos and veggies on a station. Saganaki: must order, this was my favorite dish. Even though its such a simple ingredient (cheese) the flavor is crazy, they torched it and heated it infront of us and we couldn't stop eating it Souvlaki: the chicken was delicious, we got two full skewers, they serve it with fries and their special sauce which is so delicious! Even the fries were delicious and well seasoned! Octopus: this was mind blowing, especially with the meraki sauce. This is technically an appetizer but feels like a whole dish!! And its only for $24 whereas other places tend to overcharge! We had planned to order more but by that time we were full. The menu is rich and there is still so much to try. We will be heading here more frequently and sharing with you our dishes!! 5 stars well deserved! Instagram: @ri_reviews961
