    Raw chicken parm

I am extremely disappointed to say that Villagio/Sea Grill at Merrick Park is no longer what it used to be. I have been coming to this restaurant for many years with my family, ever since I was a kid. One of my go-to orders was always the chicken parm, so after a long day of work on June 16, I decided to come back and order what used to be a reliable favorite. Unfortunately, the experience was genuinely disgusting. My chicken parm arrived raw. I understand that mistakes can happen in a kitchen, but what was completely unacceptable was how the restaurant handled it. When I informed the waiter, the only solution offered was to "re-heat" the raw chicken. At that point, I had obviously lost my appetite, so I told him that was fine but to just put it to go. What made it worse was that no manager ever came to the table. The restaurant was nearly empty, so it was not as though they were overwhelmed. The fact that no manager appeared makes me believe either the waiter never informed management, or management was informed and simply did not care enough to come over, apologize, or offer any basic form of hospitality. Then the check arrived in full. I had to specifically ask to speak with the manager, and only then did he take off what amounted to a negligible difference from the bill, roughly around $7 in the end. For a restaurant serving raw chicken and offering essentially no meaningful response, that was honestly insulting. I had to leave the bag of food on the table. To make matters worse, my girlfriend's carbonara was also poorly prepared and extremely oily. I cannot suggest strongly enough that people stay away. This restaurant has clearly gone downhill, especially after its merge. What used to be a place my family enjoyed for years after balling out at Merrick Park has become a place where raw food, poor service, and a complete lack of hospitality are apparently acceptable.

This restaurant is in a beautiful space! It's spacious and open with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I came in for a quick lunch and ordered the Caesar salad and steak kabob. Overall the meal was good but the steak was a bit overcooked.

Beautifully decorated restaurant in Merrick Park. They also have a space for private events that is beautiful, looks like a wedding reception. Stopped in for lunch and were greeted right away. Very welcoming. The bread basket and fresh olive oil and hummus were warm and delicious. Paired so nicely with the chopped tomatoes to make what essentially was a bruschetta. The salads were generous and extremely fresh. The menu is quite extensive and is a great mix of Mediterranean and Italian.

Great atmosphere inside & out. In terms of happy hour, it's hard to beat the pricing and options for food and drinks. Greta portions and high quality items. Great seating options and a nice bar. Note happy hour is served only at the bar!

The restaurant itself is beautiful, situated right in the shopping center at merrick park. The waitstaff and hostess are always friendly and welcome. the problem is the food, it will always just be okay. The first problem is that it is half italian/half greek. you need to stick to one and perfect it. The bread basket was pretty good, came with a little hummus and oil, and a tomato/oil spread. but everything is just okay. I had a greek salad that was $27 + $8 for chicken. The chicken is okay, kind of dry. Some of the olives were pitted, the tomatoes weren't that flavorful.. We had the pasta fagioli soup is actually pretty tasty, its a light pink broth instead of the usual red. Maybe i am just ordering the wrong things, just can never get behind this restaurant.

Came here for some midday snacks after a little afternoon shopping. We ordered mojitos, charcoal grilled shrimp, tuna tartare, and a half dozen oysters. The oysters were by far my favorite item - they did not need any sauces or embellishments. Slurped them right down! My only regret was not ordering a dozen. The shrimp were delicious and the tuna tartare as well. I didn't get my server's name this time, but he was wonderfully kind and attentive. We sat outdoors under one of the many umbrellas (thank God) and they also had fans going which made for a fantastic outdoor dining experience. Would come again for sure.

Is it Greek? Is it Italian? It's delicious! Great selection of Italian and Greek food topped with great food and good portions. The place can get loud and hot if it's packed. And getting a table can be tricky so make sure you make a reservation, specially if you are trying to go on busy weekends. Service was very good and the food was brought out in a timely manner. The lentil soup was delicious and the Quattro formaggi gnocchi was exactly as I remember from Il Villagio which apparently has become part of this restaurant. Pricey but worth it!

We visit this restaurant once a year at Coral Gables. Martini excellent! Makes my concoction for me. Filet mignon, with cognac sauce delicious. A beautiful restaurant with great ambience, bar and outside seating.

my sister and I ate at the Sea Grill in Coral Gables and had a fabulous time. The server, Maikel,0 and full of flavor. I highly recommend this restaurant for a unique culinary. Be sure to request Maikel as a waiter he's the best.!!

The crispy cauliflower appetizer is an absolute must-order, and their warm pita with tzatziki is so fresh and flavorful that I could honestly eat it on its own. My favorite entrée is the salmon with the lemon potatoes--it's cooked perfectly every time, and the lemon potatoes are absolutely divine. To top it all off, their gelato is the perfect sweet ending to the meal. The only thing I miss is their coffee menu. They used to have more coffee options, and I was disappointed to see that they've narrowed it down to just Turkish coffee. I would love to see some of the other coffee drinks make a comeback. Even so, the food is consistently amazing, the atmosphere is beautiful, and Motek is still a place I'll happily recommend to anyone looking for a delicious meal.

For context, I worked in fine dining in New York and Miami for almost 20 years, so I notice the details immediately, hospitality, management presence, the energy of a room. You can usually tell pretty quickly what kind of operation you're dealing with. We were a party of five. I arrived with my four-year-old son and was greeted warmly by the hostess. That warmth ended instantly. Standing directly behind her were two managers in suits blocking the main entrance. Both looked straight at me and my child and said absolutely nothing. No hello, no smile, no acknowledgment. Anyone in hospitality knows that moment sets the tone. As an Arab woman who grew up around a culture where hospitality is everything, it was already a bad sign. We were seated outside and the vibe stayed cold. Unfortunately, the food matched it. We ordered a lot because I genuinely wanted to give the kitchen a fair shot. I grew up eating Lebanese food and what stood out most was the lack of soul. Everything felt flat, like it needed salt, lemon, brightness, that warm Mediterranean seasoning Lebanese food is known for. The tabouli was especially shocking. A $20+ tabouli with no bulgur that was so roughly chopped it was basically whole parsley leaves and slices of onion. Any Lebanese auntie would die at the sight of it. At one point I asked our server if they had harissa or any kind of spicy sauce. She said the only option was Sriracha. In a Lebanese restaurant that charges $18 for a tablespoon of hummus. An Asian chili sauce as the only option. What made it even stranger is that harissa is listed on multiple dishes on the menu, so it clearly exists somewhere in the building. I asked for the Sriracha anyway out of desperation for flavor. It never came. Same with ketchup for my toddler's fries, it took three requests. Throughout the meal I walked around the restaurant several times taking my son to the bathroom, looking around the space, even going upstairs to the lounge. Not a single person acknowledged us. Not a host, not a server, not a manager. The bar is right by the entrance and every time we looked over at the bartender and bar manager, just blank stares. At one point we were clearly standing there confused looking for the bathroom in an empty restaurant and still had to say "Excuse me, where is the bathroom?" Wild. Later I walked up to the bar myself to ask if they carried mezcal. After dinner I went back to order one. Same energy--zero warmth, zero engagement. And this is with an automatic 20% gratuity already on the bill. The mezcal was a $25 two-ounce pour and I still had to ask for an orange slice garnish because no one offered it. Empty bar, two people behind it, and I still had to request it. Also worth noting, our reservation was at 5:45pm and the restaurant was practically empty. Yet I didn't see a single manager walking the floor, greeting tables, or checking on guests. I had talked this place up to my party because I'd been so curious about it for years, and it was honestly a huge letdown. If you know Lebanese food and understand Middle Eastern warmth and hospitality, this probably isn't the place for you. Expect cold, almost nonexistent hospitality and food that feels stripped of the soul that makes Lebanese cuisine special. The space is beautiful. I'll give them that. Everything else felt like a very on-brand Miami disappointment, what happens when you give people a beautiful restaurant, expensive food, automatic gratuity, and no leadership. From the lack of authenticity and attention to detail, it's hard to believe anyone truly Lebanese is behind this operation. If anything, it feels more like a polished money grab. Honestly, it might have been less jarring if they just called themselves "Mediterranean" like so many other places in this city. But if you're going to call yourself a Lebanese restaurant, the culture and hospitality should actually be there.
