I believe there are two locations, and from what I understand, they don't take reservations, so be prepared to arrive early and wait in line. We arrived around 9:30 AM with a party of five girls and waited about 20 minutes for a table, which honestly wasn't bad at all. The menu is extensive, but they also offer three brunch options that I thought were very reasonably priced. I went with the €45 option, and there was SO much food! Pastries, a breakfast croissant, their famous hot chocolate, and even dessert--it was the perfect amount and such a fun way to try a little bit of everything. Everything was incredibly fresh and delicious. And I absolutely loved the slow, relaxed Parisian pace. Our waitress was so kind and attentive, and we never felt rushed. Instead, we were able to sit back, enjoy our food, and really soak in the experience. Between the beautiful setting, delicious food, and relaxed atmosphere, this is definitely a must-try for a Parisian brunch experience!

If you're down to wait in line, I promise it's worth it. This place is hyped on social media about…read moretheir esthetic et their viral thick hot chocolate. But I personally think they have much more to praise for. This place is full of tourist and there is no specific language that you need to know to order, their staff was nice and helpful for those who did not speak either French or English. Pro-tip: order the hot food while seating and the pastry at the boutique for later (it's cheaper at the boutique compared to on the menu) Their food was great and the setting is great. Could feel busy at all the time but it's worth it and it's not that cramped. Hot chocolate 10/10 really thick and sweet (to me) Egg Benedict 9/10 it's good (could have been better but it's good for the place) French toast 6/10 Meh I mean it's French toast it's not something very extraordinary to expect Scrambled egg 9/10 it was creamy.

THE FOOD ------------------…read more+ Notre Dame Granny Smith Apple Confit - Was refreshing! I couldn't tell if this was a real apple or some fancy French creation made to look like one - that's how real it looked! The mousse and apple bits were cold & delicious and the chocolate shell was good, but not sure if it was worth the price at €7.5. + Pain Au Chocolat Cookie - Verrrry good chocolate chip cookie, chocolate croissant mashup. Only thing that we were missing was some good ol' milk! + Almond Croissant - Once again, delicious! Solid croissant and definitely a good grab and go candidate. = Citronnade - Was just OK. Lemonade that was on the watered down side, but was somewhat refreshing because I was dying of thirst. THE SERVICE ----------------------- - Employee who helped us with our order was friendly, but the cashier was a bit blah and not exactly the friendliest person, especially when we asked for extra utensils and napkins. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------------ - Smallish, tight interior that you can dine in at, but don't be surprised if the next table is sitting on top of you. + There are also 5 outdoor tables on the narrow street. - Entrance is tight too. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS ------------------------------------------- + Even though this bakery is ranked highly on Tripadvisor, there was no crowd on the Monday morning that we swung by. Line moved superfast.

We had just finished lunch, but since we were already exploring Montmartre, we decided to stop by…read moreCarette because it's one of those places almost everyone recommends, especially for its famous hot chocolate. Since it was a warm summer afternoon, I went for the Chocolat Glacé, their iced chocolate, which was a refreshing choice after walking around the neighborhood. We were too full to try any of the pastries, but the display was beautiful and made it very tempting to come back. In addition to their signature hot chocolate, they also offer a wonderful selection of French pastries, macarons, croissants, crêpes, and other sweet treats. One thing that's helpful to know before visiting is that the Montmartre branch is a takeaway pastry boutique rather than a full-service café or restaurant. Before arriving, I had imagined it would be more of a traditional Parisian tea salon with table service, but this location is designed for grabbing a drink or pastry to enjoy while exploring Place du Tertre. Knowing that beforehand helps set the right expectations. The staff member who assisted us at the counter was friendly and welcoming, making for a pleasant stop. The location itself is part of the experience. Right in the heart of Place du Tertre, surrounded by artists and the charm of Montmartre, it's an easy place to pop into for a sweet break while sightseeing. If you're visiting during the warmer months, I'd definitely recommend the iced chocolate. And if you have a bigger appetite than we did, the pastry selection looked impressive enough to make me want to return just for dessert.

The pain au chocolat and croissant were both exceptional--buttery, flaky, and incredibly fresh. Unlike some of Paris' more famous cafés, we didn't encounter any lines, which made the experience even more enjoyable. That said, this is a relatively small location, and I can easily see it getting busy with long queues during peak hours--perhaps we just got lucky with our timing. Service was quick and pleasant, and the relaxed atmosphere was a welcome respite after exploring Montmartre. A great spot for classic French pastries.
