    Gelato!!
    Rebekah T.

After arriving in Paris, we wanted to explore and see the Notre Dame. A friend of mine had recommended Amorino for the gelato and macrons, so we decided to stop in for a cone each. My treat! You can select as many flavors as you like and top it with a macron of your choice. My nephew and little cousin went first, my nephew getting as many flavors as he could - whereas my cousin only got two flavors. My sister and I chose ours next. Some of our flavor choices were the same and others different. I loved how they beautifully sculpt your cone into a beautiful flavor, so pretty and lovely to devour. Hehe.

After a stroll at the nearby tourist site, this is a great place for some treats and desserts. Staff are helpful and let you taste any flavors before you ultimately decide on what to put in your cone or cup. Technically unlimited choices you can put on your cone, as long as it stays on (roughly 4 - 7 flavors).

Me and my wife enjoyed this place while we stayed in Paris. The lady behind the counter was so nice to us. Everything looked delicious inside and it did

Stopped by on our way to the Louvre and we were so glad we did. Amorino has such good gelato! I also love the presentation with the gelato in the shape of a flower and the option of getting a macaron in the middle. I got the classic, which is the medium amount of ice cream on a cone and it can come with a macaron. You get to choose however many flavors you want! I went ahead and chose four because there were so many that I wanted to try! The flavor that stood out to me was the cheesecake flavor and I'm pretty sure it had blackberries in it?? Anyway, it was SO GOOD. There are so many Amorinos all around Paris, so if you see one while walking around (which you most likely will) make sure you stop in and treat yourself to some awesome gelato!

There's quite a few locations around Paris, but this one is conveniently located on the street that leads to Notre Dame. Usually, we avoid purchases and restaurants near tourist locations, but this was a welcome surprise. The gelato here was simpler the best I've ever had. The flavors were vibrant. I had chocolate hazelnut and the hazelnut taste was amazing. Not too overpowering, but very present. Their macaroons are to die for too! They serve the gelato with a gelato-filled macaroon on top. Perfection! I highly recommend this place, over the Haagen Dazs a few doors down.

Amorino is one of the most famous ice cream places in France. There is always a long line in dront of the shops. But the wait is worth it! The large choice of flavors, the taste, the presentation, everything makes having a cone from Amorino and very pleasant experience. Definitely a must-try !

Good gelato, however Pozzetto in Le Marais was way better and more authentic (not a chain)

The tea shop on the second floor is absolutely adorable and really should be on any pastry-lover's bucket list (ditto if you are into tea houses). Calm, refined, and civilized, it embodies everything that "tea" should be. Mom ordered a pot of tea and she deemed it delicious (she is often disappointed by hot tea--it is rare that we find an establishment that makes it properly). I ordered the hot chocolate with chantilly, and it filled me with mirth. (Warning: it is a dessert unto itself. This is not the insipid cocoa that comes from powder in an envelope. Imagine a cup of chocolate truffle, and you are about right.) We both ordered the plaisir sucrée, and now I need to go back to Paris to take a pastry class. Definitely come here for a special treat tea.

And they gave us 2 scrumptious Laduree chocolate squares, which was a nice treat!

Fou isn't a large space, really only enough for a queue to form and the staff to stand behind the counter. Unlike a traditional pâtisserie, there is no baking done on premises here. Instead, they import bakes from other pâtisseries and pastry chefs and sell them here. They had a good selection, with each having a label that tells where it came from and/or who the pasty chef was that created it. We decided on three pastries and a slice of cake - they were running a special where if we ordered three bakes then we could get a fourth for a discount. Each of the bakes were quite good - my favorite was the lemon which had great flavor while also being intricately decorated. Overall though, all our selections were high quality. Service was fast and friendly, and overall I had a good experience at Fou de Pâtisserie. It's a great option to get Paris' "greatest hits" from all over the city.

All the gorgeous pastries have signage indicating the maker of the treat. I visited this location as well as the location within the BHV on Rue Rivoli while I was in Paris. They both offered a lovely selection of treats! The caramel brûlée pâte à choux was quite possibly one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life - a sweet caramel cream filling and a crispy brûlée sugar top. I also tried the pistachio tart (salty, not very sweet) , the pear and almond tart (very fresh, not super sweet, and gorgeous), and the chocolate praliné tart (very rich, dark, and indulgent). Overall, this is definitely a patisserie that I will seek out on a future trip to Paris!

This spot at the Carrousel du Louvre is a full service shop that gives out samples and allows you to build a box rather than just grab a premade assortment from a kiosk. I say this because we walked all over on our last day (wanting to make our own boxes) so we found out where the full-service shops were. The people who work here are very patient and kind while you make your selections. And of course, it's fun to sample the decadent merchandise. I highly recommend the Maracuja (dark chocolate w/ passionfruit pulp ) or the Salvador (dark chocolate ganache w/raspberry pulp). We made the mistake of turning our kids into chocaholics so we had to pay the price and bring them both home a box. Couldn't forget one for ourselves either. Each box comes with a handy picture guide so you can identify the merchandise. Or just pop one in your mouth and be happily surprised.

The BEST!!!!!! Oh…read moreman! I will start by saying that I don't even like macaroons in the United States. They are just dry and nasty most of the time lol But in Paris, I decided to give them a try! And I am glad I did. They tasted so good! Seriously, they were delightful little treats. The inside of the macaroons was moist and flavorful, while the outside had a nice firm texture. So good! I almost ate an entire dozen of those by myself! lol My fiancé was not super motivated to try one (probably because they suck in the US), and I kept telling him how good they are. Finally, he tried one and was shocked at how good it was too! They are not cheap. But worth it for a decent macaroon. I can't eat macaroons in the states now lol Ruined me for life. lol
